My doc never asked me to have liquids for a whole week before the surgery. I just had to go on a diet, lose 7 lbs and then liquids for three days prior to the surgery. However, some people that I know who had to have liquids added sugar free pudding to their diet and jello and sugarfree popcicles. Hope that helps and good luck. I know what you are going through. Those three days for murder for me. I can't imagine two weeks.

I wish I would have not told anyone. However, I could not keep it a secret so I told half the world! When were you banded? I was banded 5/14

Hi all. So I was banded two weeks ago. I've lost about 21 lbs total so far (including pre-surgery weight loss). So here is the reason I am writing. I hate pureed food! I am kind of sick of it. So it's getting so hard to continue eating mushy food. The only thing I enjoy is sugar free chocolate ice cream. Am I cheating by eating this? I mean, I eat other stuff but I love the ice cream. I feel guilty when I eat it but then I think, well it's sugarless. Any tips, suggestions, feed back? Also, did anyone have a doc who said u could start introducing solids after two weeks? I read an article like that recently. Thanks for your tips.

  5. Thanks for all your comments! I really appreciate the info. I did feel better today, but have no clue how some of you went back to work so quickly. I will be returning on Tuesday, one week and 5 days after surgery. I hope I am good by then as I am a teacher and am scarred I will be in pain while having to teach.
  6. So I was banded 5 days ago, I mean 7, wow that was quick. Ok so I am still in pain and not walking completely straight. I mean def. better than right after the surgery but I feel like I should be normal by now. So.......I am just wondering how long it took others to heal. Please share! Thanks.
