So I was banded 5 days ago, I mean 7, wow that was quick. Ok so I am still in pain and not walking completely straight. I mean def. better than right after the surgery but I feel like I should be normal by now. So.......I am just wondering how long it took others to heal. Please share! Thanks.

I felt better after 3 days, but my friend lisa was feeling better at seven days. Have you been walking enough, did you use the gas x strips or chewable tabs and did you take your pain medications? But the total heal time was four weeks for your body to heal from the surgery. I think that if you are still walking over hunched up that perhaps you should go see your doctor to see whats going on with that..

Morning, I felt better after about 3 days of so. I even went back to work after a week, I was able to walk straight, a little pain an soreness was still there, but it wasn't that bad. I was still able to move about and go to the store. I think you need to see your doctor if you still not able to move about. But you're suppose to walk at least 30 minutes a day, and each day should get better and better. I'm in my 5th week and I feel great. Hope you feel better soon.

3 days post-op I felt OK, just still tired and sore. 2 weeks until I was completely back to "normal". Unfortunately I had a lot of nausea, but was mostly my fault for not drinking enough. Once I took my pain and nausea meds, I was able to drink protein shaakes and my energy returned. Been 3 1/2 months now and I can barely remember the surgery......the band is simply a way of life. Good luck to you !

I am 3 days post op. Still am kinda sore but no real pain.

Hang in there...everyone recovers a little different. I know at the hospital they strongly suggested that we walk as much as we could. When I say strongly suggested.....they said ok time to get up!! LOL!!

I never had hectic pains...just a lil discomfort & Tender around the incisions. Obviously when getting up from bed or sitting I felt more discomfort. It's like muscle pain. Today is 5days post-op & I feel okay. Everything seems to be going great.

HI

it took me a while to feel better. Maybe 2 weeks? I also found it helped to wear a body shaper. The kind of thing you wear to smooth your look under formfitting clothes. It gave me some support in the midsection and helped to stand up straight. I wore it for about a week or two. Try to stretch a bit during the day, not to slouch over. Just something gentle.

Feel better. This too shall pass.

I was out of work for one week. Probably should have taken a couple more days. I felt fine after 2 weeks. Try to walk as much as possible every hour. It really does help. I was so tired for some reason. It seemed to zap my energy. Never fear though, after a couple of weeks it's great! Good luck!

Hey. I had my surgery on a Wednesday, went back to work on Monday. I really wasn't 100% until a good 2 weeks after my surgery. By then I was bending over and lifting light things and I was able to sleep on my stomach again.

At two weeks I feel physically entirely normal but sometimes more tired than usual.

Thanks for all your comments! I really appreciate the info. I did feel better today, but have no clue how some of you went back to work so quickly. I will be returning on Tuesday, one week and 5 days after surgery. I hope I am good by then as I am a teacher and am scarred I will be in pain while having to teach.
