Help me pls !! [emoji24][emoji24]

How frustrating! Maybe aim for 1000-1200 cals a day. It sounds counterproductive but I agree with that others that a stall can be broken by eating more. If you're already eating your 80 g of protein, which is plenty, add calories with fruits, veggies and healthy carbs. All carbs are not created equal, and they aren't all bad. Healthy fats are good too. Some easy ideas: Make some roasted veggies in the oven with a little EVOO, salt and pepper. Cut up onions, potatoes, add cauliflower, brussel sprouts, carrots, etc. make sure you're still only eating 1/2-1 cup at a time. Add avocado to anything for a calorie and healthy fat boost. I've always liked to wrap deli turkey and cheese in an avocado slice and eat it like a wrap. Have a chai or coffee latte with skim or reduced fat milk. Add a sugar free "pump" for flavor if needed. Have some fruit. Add a little Greek yogurt or chocolate hummus as a dip. Adding 200 cals a day might make the difference you're looking for. Good luck! -

I have no tips on handling the revision, but wanted to wish you all luck. Sept 12th is my birthday, so you guys are getting sleeved at a great time! I'm a week shy of one year out and I am loving life! Good luck!! -
I thought it was never going to end!

I've tried so hard not to weigh myself because I don't want to get discouraged by a stall. I'm 2 weeks post op and have lost 12 pounds. I broke down and weighed myself today. I hope I can handle any stalls that hit without getting too discouraged. -
Hey everyone!!! So I'm planning to have the RNY...hopefully sooner than later! Just started the process though in July and see the surgeon next week. (I've already seen the np) Ive also done blood work and NUT visit....I've gotten all my specialties doctors to write letters of support and I'm psyched!!! What an amazing app with stories of good, bad and everything in between!! Love it! Do we have any type 1 diabetic success stories? I've had diabetes for 21 years now (was dx at age 11) my bmi is 36 and I have a ton of other issues however, what was your diabetes like post RNY? I know I'll never go into remission but just curious the effect on type ones? My doctors seem to think I'll gain better control....however, on the insulin pump I've had for 4 months has dropped my a1c from 9.3- 6.7!! It has made me gain 25 lbs though! Yikes! Take away 1 shake and add more veggies. Drink water water water and do HITT cardio 3 out of the 5 days. If you don't have a gym membership then walk for 3 min and run as fast as you can for 10 seconds. Do this in intervals for 30 min. Do this for 1 week and I bet the scale moves [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app -
As of Today I've lost 100LBS since RNY May 12th
mtwtvl71 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Today is a great day! Today I hit the 100lbs mark. I had my RNY on May 12th and as of my weight in today I've lost 100LBS. That is just over 3 months time. I'm doing great and eating healthy every day. I'm at around 700 calories per day and walk 2 miles every morning 5 days a week. I've just started to tone and lift light weights at the gym. I feel great and can't believe that i fit into an x-large shirt now..I was 3/4XL before. THis is the best decision I've made and have 0 regrets. I feel great and have so much more energy. -

@@jaimelu I have Blue Cross. I got referred early and they approved me after three months because I had done all the classes and was already diagnosed with sleep apnea. I think Blue Cross is pretty supportive of WLS. They know it lowers future claims for diabetes and other obesity related issues. Glad you got approved! Is your pre-op diet bad? Mine was 2 weeks of nothing but liquids...it was rough but I would do it again! -
It took me a week to find it by trial & error. Look to the right side of the subject page where you can click an action. Also you will need to page down a long way on the scenic backgrounds to go on to the next choice. Whoever designed this program was not too savvy.

My throat hurt for the first week or so. I think it was from the tube they put in my throat during surgery. It gradually went away. I'm only about three weeks out, so it probably was better before the end of the second week.

Yum I'm going to make this this week.

Wow! That's awesome and good to know your "hell" stopped! I am almost one week post op, and seem to be there. Such encouragement! Thank you!

I am 6 weeks post op gastric bypass surgery tomorrow. I have very little energy. I'm getting 60gms of Protein and my liquids. I meet with surgeon tomorrow. My fellow support group people said to be patient. I can't do simple tasks like planting flowers. Anyone experience this? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

In response to the weekly challange, here is a new recipe we tried this weeked. 1/2 cup sliced scallions 1 TB grated ginger 2 TB cilantro 2 TSP hot pepper sauce juice of 1 lime 1 1/2 TSP jerk seasoning 1/2 cinnamon 1 TB extra-virgin olive oil 3 jalapeno peppers seeded and chopped 1 TSP black peper 1/2 TSP Kosher salt 1/2 TSP red pepper flakes 2 cloves garlic 2 TB brown sugar substitute 1 TB apple cider vinegar 1 TB orange juice 2 TSP worcestershire sauce 4 4-ounce chicken breast 4 4-ounce chicken thighs (no bones, no skin) Combine all the ingrediants (except the chicken) in a food processor and blend until almost smooth. Coat the chicken and place into slow cooker to marinate overnight for 12 hours. Cook on low for 5 or 6 hours. For more heat, leave in the seeds but i thought it was "warm" without them. Calories 146.52; Protein 19.67; Carbs 1.78; Total fats 6.14; Sat fats 1.37; Cholesterol 62.46; Sodium 322.21; Sugars 0.52; Fiber 0.3 Be sure not to overcook (I did) The chicken was a little dry but still very tasty! I used some fresh herbs and some dried. My family and I have been trying about 1 new recipe a week and so far I haven't made 1 they didn't like! BTW, this is a regular texture food.

This is not an original recipe, but when you get to have meat or even puree, this might work for you... It'll easily feed 6 people. 60 if they are all sleeved HAHAHA cut up a 3 lb cut of pork (I use pork loin because its leaner) rub with 1 Tbspn of Hawaiian Red Sea Salt (you can find this at places like Trader Joes...and if not, Kosher Salt makes a decent substitute) Rub with abt 1 Tbspn of liquid Smoke (I like the smokey flavor, so usually double that amount for us) 1/2 Cup Water Put it all in a crock-pot and cook on high for about 8-10 hours. Then using 2 big forks, shred the pork and let it rest in the juices. I usually serve this over Trader Joes Brown Jasmine Rice with some sauteed cabbage (and if I'm lazy, I buy a bag of coleslaw shreds to saute and use that!). I made this for my family this week and ended up really grooving on the pulled pork. I shredded it very finely for myself and then chewed well. YUM!

Hi Shelby. I had port pain and it lasted about 1 week and then subsided. Where is your port located? Mine is near my belly button on the left side.

Honestly, you can have those things, just not in the quantities you had before...and you can't have it all at once. If I'm going to eat a piece of pizza that's 500 calories, I'm going to be extra good the rest of the week. However, my tiny stomach means I'm full after one piece. You don't have to be perfect, just 90%. You can have chips. Count out a portion and decrease your calories for the week accordingly.

Hello im sitting here in the UK reading all your posts about the lap band. with a operation date of 20th February 14. Im getting so confussed about this lap band thing, all the pre op posts on this site are very interesting, informative but for me im getting into a slight pre op tizzy. As the day approaches im self questioning myself, should I be doing this, am I that bad that I need a operation. I like most have been yo yo dieting most of my life so now its time to take hold of this weight issue I think! Whats driving me forward with this is my health. Im fine right now but if i dont change, well what can I look forward to High blood presure, diabetis, joint problems. I think there are more pros than cons with this procedure. Can anyone tell me whats with this "im having bad gas" issue i keep reading about on these blogs. Over here we sometimes call it wind. Is it very common post op does it last long, and can you take medication for it? Pre op diet starts Friday, this is one thing that has stopped me having this op ages ago. Mush food, ect for two weeks not sure i will cope with it.

We should connect! I was banded on December 23rd by Dr. Elli! I am also a low BMI. If you feel like it facebook me at Rachael Schultz Schroeder. I work in Chicagoland during the week, but live in Ohio.

So I'm 3 weeks post op and I think I'm experiencing bandster hell. About an hour after I eat I'm hungry again. Like hungry hungry. I've been trying to make sure that I'm eating enough protein but it still doesn't keep me satisfied. I go in for my first fill on Friday. I'm just wondering if this is what bandster hell is. And could this be why my weight loss has slowed down the last few days?

Sorry about the lost of your god mother. Actually I went to my 2 week post op appointment today. The nutritionist said these symptoms can be that you are not getting enough fluids. Hope everything works out -
I'm only two weeks out and just started the pureed phase, but I feel like I can eat my meals pretty fast. I actually have to take my time and go slow on purpose. Today for Breakfast, I had 1/2 an egg, some soyrizo, and an oz of refried Beans all mixed together. Eating with a baby spoon, I had to force myself to eat slow and it took me about 20 mins.
