I left a message on your post about going to liquids. I came to take a look around your profile to see when you were banded compared to how much you've lost. Its barely been 4 weeks girlie - you're doing great. You're averaging more than 4lbs a week. That's AWESOME! Like I said - you should be losing about 1% of your weight a week. which is about 2.5 lbs. You're doing almost double that. Don't feel discouraged!

yay! the scale is still moving for me, sometimes i think it isn't but when i look back over the past few weeks and months, it definitely is averaging 2 pounds a week! i am in a tight 12, but a 12 nonetheless, and i want it tight now so that i won't have to buy new jeans for awhile!
my mom is doing well! she started chemo and is doing better than most with that, as far as not being nauseated. thank you so much for keeping her (and me!) in your thoughts/prayers!

hey Tig,
Well here it is 10 days post op and I am feeling great. I was unable to contact anyone prior to this since my internet service was out for almost 2 weeks. We are back to normal now.
I do not feel surgery was bad at all. I had no gas pains as most talk about just had a very sore tummy, like I did about 400 sit-ups. I was not hungry until about 3 days ago and I am now starting on soft foods. I see my surgeon on Tuesday and it will be back to work for me the following Monday. I had lost 21 lbs pre op, on that liquid diet and I will be anxious to see how much more I lost since surgery on 3/25/09. Keep in touch- Lighterload

Dear Terel, I loved your pix because you look happy and having fun, as it should be. I see you are a nurse which probably means you have put a lot of other people's health ahead of yours at times.I was born in 63 so we are close in age. I havent had the courage to take recent pictures yet, let alone put them up. I dont have a date yet but I am going in on thursday next week and hope to get one then! I will be cheering for you! Cali

Hey girl...thanks for the support! Next week is a new beginning! Surgery isn't as bad as you're probably imagining (I've had others). And what's a few days of pain to a cop? I know you're tough! This will add so much happiness (and length) to your life...DO IT NOW! Hey, you'll probably be in the April gang with me! I want you fit when you're running after my purse-napper! My nephew is an 'Explorers Captain' in HS, graduating this year and then off to become an officer! Hope you find work soon...that would suck to have to repeat training!!! Hang in there and keep bloggin'! -BG

I would rather eat my calroies than drink them. I run on the treadmil for 2 miles at lunch and then do a 50 min workout at home. I will do 100 sit ups before I go to bed at night. It is all in what you put into it. I had a little trouble when I went in to get a fill. I was 5 months and just going in for my first fill. They found out that my port had flipped and I would have to go back in for surgery to get it stiched back in. After the revision surgery (two weeks later) I was able to get my first fill. After the fill I kept having problems with certain foods. I would have to throw up about every other day. I told my doctor and the suggested that I come in to have some fluid taken out. The doctors weighed me and found out that I was losing 5 lbs a week. Which is great weight loss for me but I told them I would rather not lose it that way. So they took out .10CC of fluid and I have been doing great again! I am on my average 3 lbs weight loss a week and I can eat anything so far.

Hi, good luck on your surgery day and pre opt diet. I lost about 13 pounds before surgery, but most of that came off in the last week before surgery. You will be so happy after you have the surgery. I was in a little pain for a few days, but kept moving around and that really helps. I am about 3 weeks out from surgery and feeling great now. I have a little pain in the port area. That is normal. Good luck and keep me posted on how you do...

Thanks!!!! I really try to watch what I eat. I log all my food in sparkpeople.com. I eat very little the week after a fill and then as my restriction goes away, I start to eat more. I get fills every month and that works for me. I usually eat coffee and sf creamer for breakfast and some light/ff yogurt. Lunch is cottage cheese, some deli sliced turkey meat and some fruit. Dinner is a lean cuisine or some type of protein and veggies--think fish or chicken. I don't eat sweets and I try to keep it low carb/low fat/high protein. I also work out 3-6 times per week doing at least 30 min of cardio on the elliptical machine and doing strength training on the weights 2-3 times per week. I've lost 68 pounds since the pre-op diet and surgery on December 1st, 2008. Let me know if I can answer any questions and good luck. You're doing great!

How are you doing??? I pain has passed for the most part I got a gas bubble in my shoulder which is annoying and achy but other than that I'm doing good I got permission to move onto mussies because I wasn't taking in enough food on the clear liquid. I hope you are doing well don't push yourself either take it easy I'm going back to work tomorrow but they know whats up and are really supportive and said if I didn't feel up to it could rest or go home. which is nice I hope your feeling better now for the first week I was really kicking myself, asking myself "why oh why did you think this was a good idea?" but I feel alot better now got some eggs and cottage cheese in me made me feel alot better good luck I hope everythings good keep my up to date!

Hi,
I also am at my two week preop and saw the surgeon today. I feel good just a little sore at my port site also. Now, I get to start soft foods and pureed food. Any ideas you like? I lost 30 lbs before my surgery and have lost 10 in the two weeks since my surgery.
Good Luck!
Terry

you should have gotten a card or something from your doc that tells you how big your band is..? I did, Im going to get a total unfill and go eat a big mac... then go get refilled... lol yesterday wasnt too bad, I only puked once... lol it will probably relaxed by the time I get to my doc and I would have had this week from hell for nothing.. lol
-
My surgery date is April 10, 2009. I will start my liquid diet this coming week. That is the hard part.
-
That is super Exciting! The Doc I am thinking about is SUPER STRICT and seems to be a stickler for diets.... I think he is going to try to torture me..... You may have only lost 2.5 lbs because you lost so much the week before. Sometimes your body decides to rebel... It is unfortunate but I bet it will be better next week!

Hi Mike,
Would you believe until i read your reply i thought i was writing to a girl... lol so sorry.
Anyway now that that little embarrassing miss understanding is out of the way, i'll let you know where i am at
I have lost 16lbs since pre op diet (over 8kgs) However since starting on puree food i haven't lost any weight grr. I am hoping i will be on normal food soon and if the weight still won't shift in another fortnight i guess i might get a fill. I will ask my dietician tomorrow when i see her for my three week post op check up. Hope the weight is still coming off you.
By the way love the huge fish on your profile pic!!
Thinking that should of given me a clue you were a guy lol.
