Yay got at least 60gr of protein with out a shake today!
AngelEyesInNJ posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am so happy to know that it is possible to meet Protein intake without shakes or drinks. I hit 63gr today normally I will drink 2 shakes a day for the 60gr and any protein from food was a bonus. Sorry just had to share with others that would understand, my boyfriend just looked at me with a blank face like I was a nut when I got excited over this. The last time I got this excited was when I realized I had a collar bone ( My first NSV) Happy New Year everyone!!! ( I know I am a little early) -

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Getting There replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My NSV yesterday - shopped in "regular" sizes at Dillard's. I kept thinking someone was going to point at me and tell me where Women's sizes were while laughing hysterically (lol). But no strange looks or anything. Bought 4 sweaters in XL and 2 pairs of jeans without a W after the size! The bottom 1/2 of my body doesn't seem to have lost quite as much size-wise as the top, but it still felt really good! Yes, I admit to doing a bit of a happy dance in the fitting room! (If anyone had seen that, they would have definitely pointed & laughed!). I have noticed lots more hair in my brush the past several days. I've been taking Biotin since 3 weeks post-surgery, using Nioxin shampoo/conditioner, getting 60+ gr protein - so I'm doing what I can/should. I have fairly thick hair so hopefully it won't be too noticable. Like others, I do need to step-up the exercise - just can't seem to make myself do it. I'm ALMOST 1/2 way to my goal of losing 130 pounds - only 6 more pounds to go. I had hoped to be there by 1/1/13, but I'm totally happy with the 59 pounds I've lost - and that I didn't gain any over the holidays Glad everyone seems to be doing so well overall. There are some struggles, but hey, if it were easy, everyone would do it - LOL. Keep up the good work Sept Sisters! Happy 2013!!!! -
So I guess this is a SV and not a NSV, but I made it through the holidays and lost weight! To be honest, I'm shocked because we were in Switzerland and everyone kept feeding us cheese fondue and potatoes! Not to mention lots of sugary goodies....I remember the days before my sleeve and the holidays meant at least a 5 lb gain.....life is good and I love my sleeve! Just wrote my LAST post on my blog A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF A SLEEVER. I posted 24 photos....12 BEFORE and 12 AFTER....all my after photos are the best NSV's ever. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I am so thrilled and just had to share this because a few days back, I was feeling bummed about being stuck. I started adding up my numbers and getting panicked that my surgery was a waste of money. I know I am not alone in this as I had read similiar trains of thought on here as well. I was doing everything right, I was adjusting from pureed to solids a bit and stalled in week 4. Also, I have lost ten pounds now since I came home from surgery-lost 18 pounds in the first week. Some things I did change was incorporating simple exercize now, and also increased my Protein a bit. And VOILA! off went three pounds in two days. Also, I tried on my wedding dress as I got married in August this year, and wanted to see if it fit differently. It almost fell off of me! I was not at my highest weight...in fact about only ten pounds havier, but the inche are definitely less than when I wore that dress-it felt great! I have dug out all my old clothes and right now have a room full of piles of stuff...my jeans are falling down my butt....it feels great. Yay! Here i a pic of me in the dress that doesn't fit anymore...lol

Fantastic week. Long but busy and active. I feel GREAT since my surgery... really. Last night I actually almost ran up my steps. It usually takes me a minute to get up or down the stairs. My knees already don't hurt and that's worth the cost of surgery right there. My numbers: Highest weight- 273 in March 2012 Day of surgery weight 250 Week 1 weigh in: 241.4 Loss: 8.6 lbs I am THRILLED with that number! I will be in the 230's next week! WOOOOT! NSV's: I like the way my doc did my insicions, to where they're not in my bra line at all. Most are at or below my waist, one at my breast bone so I've been wearing my regular Lane Bryant underwire bras. I couldn't hang with the sports bras. The UniBoob just wasn't happening. Anyway, I feel like my band might be a bit loose and the bra is pulled as tightly as possible. It'd be nice to get rid of these G cup mamas. My size 22 jeans need to be retired. Already. I felt like they might actually fall down the other day. My size 20's, which I haven't been able to wear for a while, fit just fine. Not tight, not cutting off circulation, they zip right up. Like I said earlier, steps are no issue right now. I still get a backache from shopping, etc so can't wait until that goes away. Overall I am THRILLED.

Is this a good NSV? LOL
ProudGrammy replied to iggychic's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
iggy congrats - great story, NSV BUT theres no such word as "ONLY" with our weight loss (only 45 lbs down) - you know that 100 whips with a wet noodle, take that -
So I'll be 2 months out Monday. Yesterday I decided to go try on pants, didn't think I would actually buy since my "skinny" pants aren't *that* loose. Today I'm wearing a brand new pair of size 16s! The last time I was a 16 I was a sophmore in high school. I shopped in the "regular" department - I don't know the last time I even went in the regular department! I was kind of embarrassed to even be over there at first, I felt like people would see me and think "who does that fat girl think she's fooling?" I'm so excited, I think maybe there was a part of me that didn't really believe the sleeve would work, even though I've been loosing weight - somehow new pants make it real!

I am so looking forward to my first NSV.

Looking For Dec Sleevers Out There
teribearyy replied to mandyMO's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on 12/20/12, and as of today (eight days out) I'm down 16lbs! I've also had my first NSV! I love this place, and all the support, and I had a pretty easy way on this road to skinny! (: -
Awesome! Congrats! Gotta love the feeling of NSVs.
-
congrats, girl. that must have been an awesome feeling. i'm looking forward to my next nsv. hope it's as good as this one!

You go girl! I forgot about that - robes not closing. At the hospital, I could wrap that presurgical gown around me three-four times, that never happens! They had to go get me a smaller one, lol. I am so looking forward to ditching the ugly brown (men's) xxxl robe i used to use & replacing it with my favorite black silk ones. Oh, i can't wait! Its been so long! I have my old Kimonos etc boxed away. I am so lookimg forward to having a stone massage & dropping my robe & walking to the table with confidence. Its been soooo long since I had a professional massage. ahhhh. Thanks for sharing your NSV & reminding me of those memories.

I went to the spa today and for the first time (have not been in a year) the robe closed all the WAY. Also went to Macy's today and was able to buy a pair of jeans from there, size 22. I think I wore that at BIRTH! I love my BAND!!!

Slouching
FromFlabToFab replied to SeriouslyChange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slouch much more comfortably than usual cuz of the single belly roll I have now as opposed to the double I did have. That was actually one of my first NSVs that I had noticed -
Yes it sure does, it gives you motivation to keep going. Congrats on the NSV! Keep up the good work!!

I was so excited that my clothing sizes where shrinking that I danced into the normal section..... lol I still have a hard time believing that I wear a size 10. I'll pick up a pair of 10 pants and think "too small" so I always take size 10 & 12 to the fitting room..... yep, the 12's are too big, I really am a size 10. You will get use to the change (& it's a great change)! Good luck on your journey, enjoy all the NSV like this!

NSV's are greatest!!Congrats!

Long ago I used to post the sudden little NSVs that appeared in my life.....it got to the point after a few months postOp where I could easily generate about 10 a week that sneaked up on me. Some were such as "realizing I could wear my cowboy hat IN my pickup without it mashing into the roof" or wondering whether a squad of carpenter leprechauns hustled around in restaurants rebuilding the always-too-tight booths so I could actually fit IN them comfortably.... NSV covers a lot a ground even when the scale numbers don't seem to be cooperating. Having to box up my old XXXX stuff and return it to Omar the Tent maker, and learning there are entire stores that DON'T have an XXXX size in them! was another NSV. Cheers,
