Doing well so far on the Dukan diet but as with all diets I do not know how long I can keep this up as you do have to without most of the things you enjoy eating but I do believe it is a good preperation for when Iam banded as Iam eating much smaller meals and very focused on my protein content and no salt and low fat low calorie diet so I should be in good shape for life on the band

For my evening snack:
One Jello sugar free pudding (Dulce de Leche flavor)
1 Tablespoon of powdered peanut butter (PB2)
Thats my day.
I find most of my meals consist of a protein of about 150 calories or so and a veggie. I'm on out the door early on Tuesdays so I portion out my cheese in advance and eat it on the way.

I am feeling great now! It has been a month since I had my band placed and I am doing very well. My appetite is dimmed for 3-4 hours between my small meals and it is fairly easy to keep my calories down below 1000 per day. I have lost significant weight but even more importantly I am sleeping better, feeling better, clothes are more comfortable, I can bend over to file now at work without pain!

Thankfully enough it's just Nausea and with no vomiting. It really gets worse when I meet with another doctor. Always the thought of will I mess up and this doctor not reccomend the surgery. But so far I have been really complimented on my goals and everything I am doing for myself. I get a lot of workouts in during the week. Usually a mile on the treadmill, and 5 miles on the cycle. Then my rounds on the weights. I am really working on the midsection and the glutes. I do not want loose skin after loosing weight. Biggest fear after the band not working at all of course. I never got sore after a workout maybe because I chase after 2 little ones and am constantly cleaning house. Which by the way I was looking up on the internet did you know doing normal housework can burn up to 199 calories per hour. Sometimes more if it's a strainous job.

Thanks for the kind words... that is very nice of you... feels good to hear that sometimes. I have done pretty well with the band-- I am very blessed that since surgery I have had restriction-- I didnt have to go thru "bandster hell".... I have just followed the rules on drinking while eating... and eating my protein... and just making healthy food decisions as far as nutrition. Don't get me wrong-- I do allow myself a couple of "favorite" meals each week- but bc I have restriction I dont go over my calories. If you need anything on your journey please don't hesitate to email me-- will be glad to help... I will tell you one thing that helped me alot -- is to log all my food and drinks in caloriecounters.... I have offically lost 89 lbs as of this morning-- and I have 17 more to go to reach my original goal -- but I am thinking i might go another 10... to 125.

My hunger is awful. I never expected that. However, the doc (and other bandsters' docs) apparently think it's OK to eat as much as we need of the full liquids to keep hunger down. Mine said the three meals a day only applies to more solid foods. So, I'm not messing around with it anymore and will eat liquids whenever I'm hungry. Heck, two ounces of liquid is only a few calories and I don't see how we couldn't lose weight on a 500 calorie diet! I'm on to mushies next Tuesday. I can't wait!!

Doing pretty well here, too. My diet has been a little screwed up b/c it seems that there's just one thing after another going wrong. First, I had thrush....so I had to start yogurt early. Then I had severe constipation, so the docs told me to go ahead with the mushies to get things moving along...almost wish I hadn't. Had to go to the ER at 3:45 yesterday morning - the most painful thing I've ever experienced, including 3 natural childbirths. Now I'm not eating anything at all - not b/c I can't - but because I'm just scared to. lol...I've lost a total of 30 lbs from pre-surgery till now, but haven't lost anything since the 5th day post-op. It could be the mushies that I started, but they were low-fat/low-cal and I was only consuming a little over 300 cals a day. I hope this is not what I can expect from here on. I need more than 300 calories to function properly! I go back to my surgeon on the 25th for my 2 week follow up appt. I was really excited, and now....not so much.
