  1. I too was concerned about loose skin. While it will probably be impossible not to have some loose skin, im very happy with my results so far. i am 2.5 months post op and have dropped 60. My doctor cleared me after two weeks to go back to working out. Since then i started crossFit. THIS IS JUST MY EXPERIENCE. And i freaking love it. I was an overweight athlete my whole life. Crossfit fills that need for competing that i love. Im starting to get definition in my arms and legs and i have VERY little loose skin on my arms. Maybe its something you want to try. Idk. I just know its working for me and i love it. And i still maintain a 800 cal diet and get all my water and protein in.

Top is Ok if you want/need loose casual on the weekend or similar, the dress is oddly shaped, doesn't suit your smoking bod imho.
  3. For the men mostly after losing 100lbs like what kind of training or workouts or tips do you have to help to stop from getting bat wings and lower stomach skin? I'm very early days so I'm just curious what kind of a regime would you suggest? I mostly do cardio on my bike but I've been hearing more and more about using weights or machines to work on my arms and like rowing machines? I know there's no gauranteed way but there's gotta be tips to help tone your overall body as I go through my journey? Like I want to eventually have some tone maybe even muscle not end up like a stick but also don't want to be huge? I've still got 100lbs to lose and feel if I start weight training will it put muscle onto my fat or will it actually help me burn more fat and flubber?? Sorry for any ignorance I've never tried weights!!
  4. I have my surgery booked for October and im hoping to loose 45kgs (100lbs) and the thing that scares me the most is the thought of the amount of loose skin that I could possibly end up with. Ive researched compression clothing and just wanted to see if anyone used compression clothing (like 2xu or under armour brands) post surgery and if they found it helped and have recommendations....ive had two unplanned csections and still have separated abdominal muscles (4 years after)...... im going crazy researching "tightening skin naturally" ...buying collagen protein...organic broths...even looking at jowl creams and face braces to lift and tighten the neck area....sounds so lame when i read what i have written because loose skin should be the least of my concerns... did anyone else have this concern it doesnt seem to come up on other forum topics of what to expect/didnt expect/wish you knew before hand....

    Confirmed surgery date!

Yay. Isn’t it exciting? You have such a pretty face, wait until the rest of you feels just as healthy and bright. You’re going to feel amazing. I got sleeved just last week. Tomorrow will be one week out. I had a good amount of pain and discomfort but I don’t care. I can’t wait to loose the weight. I feel hopeful again after feeling so helpless and hopeless for so long. Good luck!

Is anyone else like me? (almost normal)

My main question is about food getting stuck and the size of my pouch. I feel like if I had a loose pouch food would empty faster and not get stuck. So the big question is...is that really whats going on here. Hoping to hear from others who DO NOT get food stuck..ever

    Loose skin and sex

So, I've had a recent "interaction" with a friend of my wife and I's. I was pretty up front with my skin... and it wasn't an issue at all. By the time you get to the "gear down" portion of the evening, your play date has already felt your skin, through clothing or not... they know what they are dealing with, at least to some extent. And yes... men regain length as the Panniculus fat shrinks. So, I still hate the way I look naked. But, I try not to let it bother me too much and stop focusing on what I look like and start focusing on what your play date looks like, etc. Keep your focus on them and ignore yourself. It'll be ok.
  8. So, the VA referred me to plastic surgery to have a cyst removed from my knee. The surgeon said I qualified for skin removal because of the amount of my weight loss. I had no idea they would cover this, because they don’t cover Bariatric surgery unless you are on tri-care. The nurse practitioner said he is a good surgeon and that she would let him do work on her. I requested the referral and my Dr. put it in. We met and he said he could do the tummy tuck with liposuction and even make fake abs if I want them. He said the skin on my thighs isn’t as bad but that he could liposuction my inner thighs during the same operation. He also said the fat could be injected into my breast. I already met my deductible because of my gallbladder surgery, so I scheduled for December. I can do all of this or nothing. Still not sure what I want to do with my belly button either. I always had an outie, but when they did my gallbladder surgery they “repaired my hernia” which means they chopped off my belly button. 😂 I like to make phantom belly button pain jokes. the ladies at the gym say I should get the abs. I have been flat chested my whole life. I bought bra’s in the kids section and couldn’t get a nursing bra in my size when I breast fed. This should be interesting. I am 49 now do I really need to do this? Probably not, but I think I am going to because if I am getting one thing done might as well go for it and do all the pain at once. Hubby is worried about another major surgery but is supportive of what ever I decide. has anyone had all three of these procedures done? The tummy tuck would involve muscle reconstruction and liposuction on sides. What should I do with my belly button? I feel like it is already missing. 😂

    Loose skin and sex

Ok as a guy, ive gotten a few comments: 1.) the skin isn’t as bad. Women tend to be more forgiving than men which is lame as f**k nowadays 2.) Remember men, your penis gets bigger with weight loss 😂 so make use of it 3.) no clothes, no problem. You’re past the hard part

    My first NSV

I love NSVs!!! I put on a shirt that was pretty tight when I bought it and it was actually loose. This weekend I worked my EMS job and I actually needed a belt to hold up my pants, not just a place to hang my radio, my shirt was also way looser than it was previously. I also had to take my Apple Watch band down another notch too. Definitely getting there!!

Happy Fall! Look forward to the cooler season approaching of fun jackets, jeans and layers in all new sizes. Here's two new outfits. Business meet past Friday, and brunch on Sunday. Wishing I could borrow a few inches from everyone or do you think one of those medieval stretchers might work!? Frustrated to see obesity written in summary notes of a new knee surgeon I saw last week for injured knee. ;\ I loath that in my medical charts! Working diligently toward my final goal and a normal range BMI which is 25 pounds away. Saddened to see the general medical community continues to evaluate solely upon - and defines their patients by possibly antiquated and simplistic charts? No doubt, as ms.sss says our wrinkled fabric (love that description!) aka. loose skin certainly adds a few extra pounds? Any thoughts here? I took my jacket off here for your eyes only... as my upper arms feel like they could weigh a pound each? Not to mention, the tummy, rear and thigh wrinkled fabric. I wonder after major plastics - if anyone has experienced a natural reduction in weight after excess skin removed? Seems logical.

    Panniculectomy

I had two - first one was a lower body lift. I think that one was about four hours. The second was an arm lift and a breast lift - he also made incisions down each side from my arm pit past my waist (to get rid of "side boob" and pull off some of the excess skin that was under my rib cage that he was unable to reach during the LBL). That surgery was six hours long.
  14. 19 days post op. Since May 20, I have lost 33.8 pounds. I can already start my abdomen is less bloated, although I haven't quite yet dropped a pants size yet. My clothes are looser, but when I go down a size they are still too snug. But... this morning I put on the flip flop style sandals that I have been wearing for about 6 months regularly and they are TOO BIG! They are totally too loose and I could easily go down at least half a size in them. I am so glad this happened today, because I was getting ready to buy a new pair of walking shoes. When I am heavy I wear an 8.5, but when I am skinny I wear 7.5-8 (that is where I was 8 years ago). I will probably have to go with an 8 today since I am not down to my 7.5 size yet. Anyhow, it is those little victories that get us through this, right?

    Number 2?

day after surgery but it was very, very loose. Now since then, I struggle with constipation all the time and still, almost 7 months out, still take two stool softeners a day and digestive enzymes at night. I have cut out laxatives, i was taking them about once a week in the beginning and your body can get used to them and come to expect them. Hot coffee seems to help me too.

500.5lb Guy now down to 316!

Thank you so much! Been shopping so mich now. 2XL is for most tops. Still have to get rid of that extra skin lol
  17. I am 4 months post op. I have had dry skin issues since about a week or two after surgery, which I felt was fairly normal. My water intake was dramatically reduced. Now I get at least 60oz a day and lotion with heavy cream at least once a day but do often times lotion up twice. I used Palmer's cocoa butter (I swear by it). But my stomach skin and hands are still dry. Any one have any thoughts or ideas on this?

Yup same boat here. All of my fat everywhere is really super squishy where it used to be hard as a rock. In some areas it’s hard to tell the difference between fat and skin. (I’m looking at you upper arms!).

Yeah, they are no fun. I’m doing Strong Curves, by Brett Contreras. So many glute bridges But, honestly, right now it’s a race to see if I lose my tummy before my butt. I have no idea. They are both doing that loose/jiggly fat thing that happens as the fat cells loosen up. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m in unchartered territory right now as far as my weight is concerned. I honestly have zero clue about how my body will look at the end. Right now I’m not excited about more surgery (plastics), but I’m open to it. We’ll just see how this goes.

    Something just isn’t right

Any emergency NHS treatment would be free whether you had the band done privately or not. For example, I was transferred via ambulance from my private hospital to the local NHS one for emergency bypass after I had immediate post-op problems with my sleeve. You would not be charged for any treatment, so go and get seen to and sorted you cannot wait 3 weeks if something has come loose!! I am also an NHS nurse and have worked in A&E so know this is the case with everything.

Happy weekend everyone. My app stopped working with the new iPhone update. So I had to get on through the website. I hope this is fixed soon. Yesterday we went to the county fair. My daughter had some stuff in the exhibits. I actually wore a shirt that showed a tiny bit of tummy. Definitely have saggy stomach skin, so it wasn’t intended.
  23. I actually went to the Mall yesterday afternoon. I saw a pair of snake skinned patterned jeans & took a picture of them. I'm thinking by my birthday in April I may be rocking a pair of those jeans. If not, i'll be damn close!

    Low BPM now.

I have reached my goal weight. Combo of being a hard core follow the diet, walking, rucking, weighty lifting, sword fighting martial arts, and running. This year, I am running particularly better that last fall. Faster, and better form. A 38 min 5k to a decent 31:30. Now, I have a low BPM of 42. 6 months ago it was 60. I happened to met another physically active bariatric patient, and he has a 37 BPM. Then, met another patient that has 45. Not barycadis. All of us are healthy, and have awesome blood pressure. Is this a "thing" with bariatric patients after loosing a lot of weight? Is there something about having better blood flow or something? Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using BariatricPal mobile app
