Hi, just checking to see if you have gotten over that plateu yet. I am still at a stand still. No loss, no gain either. it's frustrating. At the support meeting, I was told that I am where I am suppose to be after being banded only 8 weeks (at that time) it will be 10 weeks tomorrow hmmm. I just have to be patient. Have you experienced any other problems since banding? let me know how its going.

Cheri,
I went out to dinner with family and friends and indulged in some nachos. Nothing spicy. I have had pain since Friday. I go to the doctor tomorrow, but I have been worried. You are doing great at 31. You are very steady. I tend to lose a bit and then nothing for a couple of weeks....would much prefer the steady. Hope all is well with you and family. I am free the next 2 Sunday afternoons. I will let you know when the Houston Area Bandsters will have their next meeting for our area. Talk to ya soon.

Hi padanelle,
thanks for replying; I did something crazy tonight, I am now craving sweets, after six weeks, I ate about 1/3 of a brownie; seems like my had habits are returning; I have lost about 26 and a half pounds, I have reached a plateau but I think that I am becoming impatient; I am going to talk with my dr. this week about getting another fill. I cant do this if I feel hungry, some advice.

Thanks for following up- you look great- I visited your blog. I have been stuck for 2 1/2 weeks with no weight loss or gain- started exercising and have actually dropped inches and not pounds- maybe because I am building muscle??? No idea- finally stayed off the scale for a week and when I weighed- low and behold I was down 4 pounds!!! Going in on 10/07/09 for a fill and looking forward to it- getting too much room again and can mow down quite a bit of food, but making better choices so I hope to keep steadily losing:tongue_smilie:- good luck and I will continue to check up on you also!

Hi Jodi! I hope everything went well for you! Everything has been pretty smooth at this end. I have a blog to keep track of my progress. It has some specific things that helped me get through the first few weeks. The blog is: Lap-Band Life For Me
Talk to you soon!

yep, the first few days i was hubgry all the time, but i have learned it is easier to not eat real food until dinner, use the three protein shakes until then, seems once i eat then i am more wanting to eat food. I miss dt coke and i miss cheetos, but know this is going to be a life change i will have to adjust to!
I have not told but a few close people i work with and my husband, as i do not want people watching ad commmenting on what i eat, when i eat, etc! I guess my worst fear is to "cheat" on the pre diet and then have them open the lap and have to close it due to not enough loss around the liver!

Hi again, I had my second fill four weeks after my first. That is just the way my Dr. scheduled it. It took four days again for my body to feel that I had been tightened. I could only eat about 2 tablespoons of food and I was done for each meal. I did have a problem with scrambled eggs for the first time this morning. I had my third fill this past Monday and Friday was the fourth day after my fill and I again had to eat very little and slow. I guess that is what I mean when my band has check in or kicked in. I also get the hick ups and I know for sure to stop eating or I will end up in the bathroom not feeling well. I have enjoyed playing with my band. imaluckydog Kathy I hope I have helped

Hi xavier, I have had three fills the first one was five weeks after my surgery. I kept eating the way we do slow any steady and on the fourth day after my first fill I was so tight I only ate about 2 tablespoons full of food at each meal. Then I could not eat any more. I always ate the protein first and sometimes that is all I could eat. I eat a lot of greek yogurt and eggplant with meat sauce. If you want I can give you the recipe for the Wendy's Chili. I eat that all the time. I usually put grated cheese and or sour cream on it as well. Tastes great and is easy on my band.

Hey thanks for checking in..it always helps to remember that you are not doing this alone! I think I am at a stall, for the past few weeks I have managed to gain and lose the same 2-3lbs but I cant get it off to stay off! I know it is my fault bc I can come up with a thousand excuses not to exercise but I really need to get back in gear! How are you doing and how much have you lost so far? Sounds like you are doing pretty good maintaining a steady weight loss....its always better than gaining! Good luck

I live right outside Houston. Where are you?? This 2 week protein shake for 2 meals and a small dinner is killing me!! Plus I am big Coke fan so I had to give that up too. I know its worth it, but boy I can't wait to get this over with. I'm excited but know I will be nervous the day of the surgery. Are you doing ok on your diet? I found a mix protein shake from GNC that tastes good. I mix a few fresh strawberries and it makes it nice.
Well its off to walk the block. Talk to you soon!

Giiiiiiirl I'm doing fabulous! I love my band! This whole process has been up and down and up and stall and up and down! It's been a mental and emotional roller coaster figuring out my issues and working through them. But where I'm at today is, down to 238 lbs and already a size 18, that was a shock to me! At this pace I could be a 200 lb size 14 chick! That'd be pretty awesome!
That is awesome you recovered so fast. Day 2 for me I was off the pain meds and day 3 I was back to takin' care of my 2 boys by myself. I'm excited to keep up w/ your progress.

Thanks! I think I found my motivation. I started with a new trainer who is kickin my butt! Plus, I have one month to get to 175! lol. I'm about to leave for my fill appt in a few minutes and I'm still debating if I will get back what I took out at my last appointment. I was stuck at the same place you are too. You'll get past it...just get that fill and drink lots of water! I would take my own advice but its not working this time...lol! You have a great week as well!

:tt2:Hi
I was banded on the 27th of August and I am feeling really good. I have lost a total of 21 lbs pre-op and post-op. I know we are supposed to lose slowly but I want to lose fast. Started exercising this week. On a mushy diet for this and next week then I can introduce soft foods.

It took forever for me to notice my weight loss and everyone around me was like what the hell are you blind. Body image is so weird and honestly I think people look at me I am still 260....it is very weird transistion and I struggle with it everyday. I am really hard on myself too! I just had emergency gallbladder surgery and had my band all the way unfilled two weeks ago...I have gained 8 pounds and I started my period too. I had a really unhealthy weight loss and I lost about half my hair so trust me gradual is better...you have beautiful hair and you will want to keep it! You just need to keep on going girl and it will be a great feeling when you hit goal. How much have you lost?
