Wow so happy for you...my goal is also 170 due to my height....i'm currently 310 and my surgery is 8/13/10....i'm scared of the side effect and also scared i won't make it to my goal....how did you stay focused and how many times a week did you exercise?
-
way to go LIB! Congrats on a successful fill. I go for my 2 week post-op this Friday. So I'm looking forward to that. Glad to hear that your first fill was a breeze!
-
Ok. Im glad you are doing good. I decided to take 2 weeks off because @ work I still all day.
-
Thanks Melissa!! Yes I can't wait. I am currently 282lbs and I start my liquid diet next week. How are you feeling now after the surgery?
-
Today I waited waaay too long before eating lunch...It was 3:30 before I had time to! Then when I did eat, it hit my belly like that 4 ft drop you are talking about...My nurse (he did my checkup and will do my fills) said that we get that rock in our belly feeling because we are eating or drinking too fast.
I'm due to get my period in about 6 days...I had a HORRID day on Monday and sobbed on my husband and then when I looked at the calendar I figured out why! Since then it's been much better...
I had to do 1 week of liquid, now I'm on my week of puree (though I'm pushing it at times) and starting Friday I start the next week of mushies. I can't wait!!!
Tuna sounds so good...I couldn't have that water that it's packed in in it though! Man, I drain that stuff and then squish my tuna with a paper towell to make sure it's gone! It makes it too fishy too me...
How are you today??

I haven't been on for a few days...finally getting a chance to check in!
The pain in my side is almost completely gone and I'm trying to remember to use the Fibersure, so it must be working...I am a bit more regular than before (when I just wasn't going!)
My incisions are pretty good. Two have a little scab left...One of the small ones has no scab left and just is red like the scar tissue is starting to form. The one on my belly button is kinda the same...Reddish from healing/scar tissue, but no scab left.
I ate some lean chili yesterday. I couldn't help it. I had pureed some the night before and it sucked, so I just chewed it a lot. I did pretty good. It kinda felt like I had a rock in my belly, but not as much as EVERYTHING felt that way a week ago. I also took one bite of a roll the other day just to see what would happen.... I could kinda feel it I think, but I wasn't sure if that's because it was bread or because I was 'trying' to see if I could feel it. Haha...

I did it, 100lbs. Now doing aqua aerobics once a week, gym for 45 minutes 3 times a week and just found a Zumba class close by, need some guts to get me in there yet but I think it could be fun, hot sweaty fun but if it helps and makes me smile, it's all good. Family stresses are tiring at the moment, daughter just turned 16 and is starting college in September, son due to turn 19 in September and start University. Life feels like a whirlwind and gym gives me time to think by myself. Suffering menopause too, my word I do grumble! On the bright side, I'm alive and surrounded by people I love and who love me. Let me know how the dance classes went, hope you enjoyed them so much you make it a regular thing x

Hi Everyone, Ive been MIA for a while cos there is lots going on in my life at the moment but the band is almost doing nothing. I have lost 48lb but most of that was in the beginning. I am joining weight watchers next week. I need structure. My next fill is on the 3rd of Sept. And I am supposed to have lost another 8lb by then!!!!!
Hope you are all doing well and experiencing great restriction.
Hugs and good luck to everyone xxxx

Hi, AmberK.
Just wanted to say good luck with your surgery this week. We'll be thinking of you! I also wanted to congratulate you on the 14 pounds you've already lost that's 10% of your weight goal!!
Stay strong - you can totally do this!

Ah patience - not my strong suit, but I promise to try. This has been much easier than what I had imagined it would be. Thanks for the words of encouragement with the food. Haven't experienced first stuck yet, but I hear it happens to us all, so thanks for the advice. Have a great week! Love your picture!

Lena,
Yes, I would very much like to have a buddy who is going through the same transformation as I am.
I have to say that I am really not that nervous, but then again there is still just over 3 weeks to go until the magic date.
What does your pre-op diet look like? I just found out on Friday that my Doc has three different diets depending on your body shape and how much you have to lose. Since I am an evenly distributed person, I will 'only' have to do a two week diet with 2 shakes and a small meal. I guess some 'apple' shapes have to do 4 weeks of liquid only....YIKES.
Thanks for the message,
Kelly

Hello! Surgey went well. I'm 1 week post-op now and feel alot better. Still having a little bathroom issues  and some port pain :crying: but I guess thats normal. I can't wait till I'm 100% better so I can get out there and start excercising, I walk now but somewhat of a slow paced walk. It gets old. However I have lost 22 lbs so far!!!
Congrats on getting approved!! I bet your real excited huh. Where are you getting it done?

Hey girl! I am doing pretty good. I just ran my first 3K last weekend and I think I am going to work for a 5K in September. I am running about 2 miles a day about 5 times a week or so and I hit the gym about 3-4 times a week when I'm not traveling with my job. I feel pretty good. I am still about 20 lbs up from my lowest, but I am in pretty good shape. Trying to watch my caloric intake to lose slowly instead of keeping my carbs super low. I don't think I will ever be happy until I have PS to take the extra skin off (bad apron in front IMHO) and perk the girls up. The TT is a big priority but with other things going on I just can't afford it right now. Hopefully in a year or two. I am so glad to hear things are going so well for you. Funny how the first 9 months I lived on the boards but we have all kind of found our way back into a life where the band is a part of normal living and not something to take up every last waking thought.

Hi Lorraine,
Just saying hello. Hope all is going well. Good luck on week 3.

OK...the TT in 2007...It was easily the hardest in terms of recovery, because the abdominal muscles are involved. I had a lower body lift last summer, and that one is supposed to be the roughest, but it wasn't, in my opinion. The summer in between (2008) I had a breast lift. With all of these surgeries was miscellaneous liposuction, except with my TT when he also did a scar revision for something unrelated to my weight loss. A few weeks ago I had an arm lift (shorter scar) and a revision to the medial thigh lift from last year. I'm still pretty swollen from that, and the arm lift is not a pleasant surgery for recovery. The scars are ugly right now and my arms look thinner but they are nowhere near their end result. Same with the thighs. I go through this every time...I have a post from the past on the Dr. Schulman thread on this site where you can see my anxiety!! More to come...

Thanks for being concerned about me. Yes, I went back to work and this week alone I have worked 40 hours of overtime so I've been very busy. I hope you are doing well.
-
yeah- I definitely notice that after I workout I'm tighter-- same sensation as in the mornings. Last night I went to the gym, and noticed it right away.
I will look into the toning classes. They offer a "bootcamp" thing here, but I'm not sure what it consists of. I do think I need to try something new, because at times my weight loss is stalling. I added weight machines after my cardio, and that seemed to help, but I still think I need to shake it up a bit.

Hi there Kansans!
I live in SE Kansas and had my first fill in Overland Park today.
All went well.
I will be back up there in 4 weeks. It is a 3hr drive for me but worth every minute!

My secret is I eat alot of chicken and fish. I measure everything. I'm not a fanatic in exercise but I try to walk at least 4-5 times a week. Anywhere from 3-5 miles. I use my Wii Fit at home. And I made up my mind that I am going to do this. I think the biggest secret is not to give into head hunger. Plus I reward myself once and awhile. This isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle change. Diets have always failed me. But once I started losing the weight and seeing the great results, it was just a matter of keeping myself going. And it helps to have good support.
