Try strength training. I went almost 16 weeks and could not lose a pound. I ate healthy and exercised daily... my dietitian suggested changing up my exercise and wanted me to try a "body pump" class. It's easy, anyone can do it. you work with 2, 5 and 10 pound weights. It made all the difference for me, I still do cardio in there too but I think the strenght training was just what I needed. Give it a try!
  6. Ugh.... yogurt and cottage cheese. Lived off it. Lucky... my liquid/mushie stages went fast. 2 days post op liquid. then 2 weeks mushies then on to normal stuff. I still have a hard time looking cottage cheese in the eye! (kidding) scrambled eggs are a good choice too but I could not keep them down, still have trouble. Good Luck!
  7. love your profile picture!!! LOL!
  8. Well... I honestly had restriction right from the start, I just was not hungry till several weeks out then it started. I could eat more then a cup of food but could not even come close to eating what I normally ate. The band is only about 1 1/2" to 2" round, my personal opinion is that that has to create some restriction, even empty. But many are hungry after the initial swelling goes down. My best advice... eat right, eat healthy, eat your protien. There is definately some "dieting" involved. Just make good choices. It is hard to go hungry but fill up on things that are good for you. I was scared to death to eat and scared to eat the "forbidden" foods. Wish that fear had stuck with me! You'll do great... work that band the way you are suppose to and it should be fine. Good Luck!
  9. jeeze..... chill. Half the crap posted on here I could not care less about but I don't get all bent over it. I simply move along. I don't understand the big deal????
  10. I was never a smoker. I do have an occasional toddy. But the calories add up fast!
  11. Wow... really, I read your post all the time. Love them, and if I didn't I wouldn't be as rude as to say so. Some people just have no manners, wonder who raised them. Guess what people, don't read it and move on!!!!!
  12. I have not bought "ice cream" (in like a gallon container) since my surgery. I have had a dairy queen (or two) over that time. But I LOVE icecream so to have it readily available at my house... I can't do it. I do buy weight watchers or skinny cow ice cream treats. they are pre-measured and low cal and super yummy. If you can eat just one, i'd go that route. There is nothing wrong with a treat as long as it fits into you "calories". If you are not losing you might want to track your calories and see exactly what your taking in in a day. I had a long period of time I didn't lose weight... and I was eating right and exercising. Sometimes your body just says enough for a while. If you can't leave the ice cream alone really the only solution is to not buy it. I can't have those trigger foods in the house or I won't leave them alone till they are gone.
  13. Once in a while. Can go down fine or really cause a problem. Got to know when to quit cuz one bite to many and it's all over. Here is where the rules really apply: 1. small bites 2. eat slowly (put your fork down between bites) 3. chew chew chew On any given day it can not agree with me but then again... same can be said for yogurt?
  14. uff.... baby was my initial thought, but you will really have to think about it. Good Luck!
  15. OH NO! That is too bad. I don't know why, my Dr said the liver shrinks quite a bit with initial weight loss but I know it is always a worry. At my Hospital you wake up with an incision cuz they do it open instead of laproscopic. But that is quite a healing process. Well... keep at it, it will go fast and best of luck to you!
