  1. All I can tell you is to watch out. My insurance is BCBS of ILL and they were great! Paid basically everything. It cost me about $2,000 out of my pocket before surgery including the $1300 up front to Tempe New Day the day of my surgery. All in all my insurance company has paid over $62,000 for a simple surgery plus a HH repair that True Results said would cost between $18000 and $25000 and my Doctor is still sending me a bill for $1300. and the anastigiologist still wants $900. I love my band. Had surgery on March 25th and have lost 50lbs. Just make sure you ask your questions and Best of Luck to you!
  2. Not to worry. I had BCBS of Ill also with a BMI of 37. I went throught True Results here in Phoenix. Was frist sent in on January 2nd for approval. Took 30 days for denial to come back. True Results sent in an appeal immediately, I didn't even know about it. I got the approval within like a week. I was banded on March 25th and am so happy. I am down 21lbs and go for my first fill tomorrow morning. You will do fine. True Results is great!!! Good luck. BJ
  3. Congrats!!!! My pre op diet was only 1 week. BJ
  4. Had the same problem last week. Took 2 tablespoons Milk of Magnesia at bedtime for first time. Flew out of bed at 1pm and DID NOT make it to bathroom. Solved problem but will never take 2 tablespoons again and will take in the morning on a Saturday when I can be home all day. Lasted about 2 hours.
  5. Hi tjmur I submitted to BCBS of Ill on January 2nd. It took 30 days fro them to come back with a denial. We appealled and I was approved within 10days. My surgery was March 25th. Hang in there it will happen and you will be in Bandland soon. BJ
  6. OMG me too!!!!! I have NEVER burped like this. It comes from way down deep!!! I was banded on March 25. I hope it goes away soon but I think we may have it forever!
  7. Holly molly it took me forever to find this thread! I am still getting use to this site and am having a hard time. Anyway, thanks to everyone for all the comments. I have lost 18lbs since my 1 week pre op diet and today I go for my post op appointment. I feel great the only thing is I was told not to remove the little tape over the cuts so I didn't. Well this morning I woke up and 2 of the small ones really hurt so before my shower I peeled the tape off and they are infected pretty bad. They smelled awfull!! I know too much info...sorry but I can't wait to see the doctor this afternoon. The area of my port is still taped but looks good so far. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again and I love this site!!!!!
  8. HI Everyone I was banded on March 25th. Everyone is right, the gas is the worst! I started back to work today and so far so good. Down 18lbs since 1 week before surgery. Went 1 week liquid and then mushy's. Thank goodness, mushy's really helped. Go for post op appointment tomorrow. BJ
  9. Hi Newbie My surgery was March 25th so I am just over 1 week. No, I have not ever heard of that before. That sound really awfull. Keep us posted on how you are doing. I am pretty new to the site also but everyone one here is very supportive and can answer almost any question you have so stay in touch. BJ
  10. Thank you so much for your reply's. I was a little worried about the location but now feel better. I feel pretty good but am really tired. Just resting and trying to get my liquids in. I will start a ticker and keep everyone posted. Looking forward to being healthy and happy for the first time ever!!!
  11. Hi everyone. My name is Bonnie and I was banded on Friday March 25th so I am 3 days post op. I can't believe I made it. So far I feel pretty good. Lots of gas pains especially on my left side and shoulder. The funny thing is I thought my long incision would be just under my bra line at the top of my stomach but there is only a tiny hole there. My largest incision, about 2 inches, is just to the left of my belly button. Does anyone else have their port in that location? Other than that not much swelling just trying to get in my fluids. I am soooo happy I made it. I kept waiting for someone to tell me in the operating room that a mistake had been made and I couldn't get my band. I am so happy and am so glad I have found this site. Thank you all for you help and info.
