Hi there! Congrats on your surgery and new banded life. You're off to a great start already. And keeping focused on that trip to Cabos is a wonderful motivator to stay on track. ;o)

So I had surgery on 10/15/2010 in TJ with Dr. Huacuz and he was absolutely wonderful. He pretty much catered to my every need, and he is definitely Dr. McDreamy for sure lol but I mean super nice!
So before surgery I weighed in at 274lbs on Friday 10/15/2010 and now it’s Tuesday, almost 4 days after surgery and I have lost 11 lbs. I weighed myself this morning at 263lbs. I will give an update probably once a week and will post pictures soon.
I have a vacation coming in April 2011 to Los Cabos San Lucas and I would love to be fitting into a bathing suit by then! We'll see, it will definitely be a challenge but I am up for it!

Having Lap-Band Surgery in Tijuana with Dr. Huacuz

So I have been doing my research for about a year now and have made up my mind to get my lap-band® done with Dr. Huacuz in TJ. My insurance does not cover the procedure so I will be paying out of pocket $4500 for the procedure. My friend, her mom, sisters and cousin all got their lap-bands done by Huacuz and other surgeons that work/worked there. They all had great experiences so I trust that he will do the same for me. Is there anyone out there that has had their lap-bands done in Mexico or by Dr. Huacuz and have experiences to share? -
Hello, I read your post about surgery with Dr. Huacuz and just wanted to let you know that I will be having my surgery with him on Oct. 15th 2010. My friend and her family members were banded by him and they all said he is great! So I am really looking forward to my trip. I will let you know how it goes if that makes you feel any better =)

I am new here as well....hi everyone....I am going in on October 15th to be banded and am very excited!!! I am not having my surgery done here in the US because my Health Insurence won't cover it. So I am going to TJ to have it done. Paying out of pocket....sucks but it will be well worth it in the end!
