Finally Full
after 8 months and several fills, I am finally losing about 2 pounds per week and feel like the band is finally working for me. It took awhile to get here but if you are feeling the same way, be patient. I wanted immediate results but my surgeon went slow and I did not loose too fast and my vitamin levels are good. HAPPY AT LAST and down 50 pounds with 20 left to go!

The difference 1 cc (or less) can make.
so is that when we are at the sweet spot? Whan I get full on a cheese stick? or a cup of yogurt? But eating fast or the wrong foods makes you vomit? Just wondering if I need an unfiill or make better choices? Help!

- I'm full!....No, I'm hungry!!!
I feel the same way. I have about 7cc in a 10cc band and I am still not losing weight. Lost 25 but have 50 more to go. Feel like I wish they would totally fill it at first, then take saline out as needed. At least I would have lost a ton of weight by now! SO FRUSTRATED! Banded Oct 2010- 3rd fill
just had my 3rd fill and I am up to 6.5-just got filled today so I am HOPING for some good restriction (I just want to be satisfied with less food) HELP!- how to lose weight with lap band
also, the peanut butter that i did eat was on toast not a spoonful-not sure if I could do that.....- how to lose weight with lap band
but HOW did you do it?? Was it the band or the choices that you made. I know this can work if I don't eat but I thought this was supposed to be a tool and help me. Maybe I am asking for too much. I do not think I am too tight, I can eat anything just not chicken and bread. I just want this to work for me......- how to lose weight with lap band
Please help! Chicken, meat, peanut butter, vegtables, bread get stuck-but isn't that what I am supposed to eat?- i need help to eat right
I feel like I can eat pretty much anything as well (banded on Oct 29th 2 fills so far) but the things I am supposed to eat (protein vegs get stuck) but the things that keep me alive (or at the same weight) cottage cheese, yogurt, etc) go down fine. I am having a hard time with this-should I just eat stuff that gets stuck so I wont EAT?????? Maybe thats the way it works?- 3 fills so far, little restriction, slow weight loss - super frustrated
I feel the same way. Was banded Oct 29 started at 225 and have only lost 15 pounds. had my 2nd fill yesterday and still no change. I only have trouble with chicken, bread, peanut butter otherwise EVERYTHING goes down just fine. I know I am porbably just not in the green zone yet but my friend who has a band has less cc's in hers nad cant not eat that much, and is losing! I am very frustrated as well. But I have to keep trying....hope you are doing better now how many cc's do you have in? I had 2.5 at surgery added 2 and added 1 yesterday (10cc band)- 3 fills so far, little restriction, slow weight loss - super frustrated
- bad food weekend
I had a really bad food weekend. Was doing SO WELL until I was stuck at home during a blizzard. Ate some christmas Cookies that I made and other things that went down TOO easily. I feel like I should not try new things becuz then I know they will go down ok and I will want to eat them. Oh well, enough beating myself up, this week is going to be good-BACK ON TRACK!- I look like a slob!
I feel the same way-I could take my pants off without unbuttoning them. It is a good thing but I want to wait to spend a lot on a new wardrobe. Wont be where I want to be til spring. Might just get some stretchy black leggings or something basic to get by til its will be really FUN to shop! Good luck!- What do you do when you have a stuck episode?
I have had a couple of episodes with that stuck feeling mostly after bread products. I kind of panic and start walking around, and then some of it comes up and I feel better. I read that meat tenderizer mixed with warm water helps if you drink it but I have not tried that (yet)- Got Banded Today
just rest for now and take your pain meds. at least you are not nauseous which I was and I had to stay in the hosital an extra day. A week or so after surgery, you will feel so normal almost like you never HAD surgery. Take this time to heal......and you WILL feel good in no time!- How much fluid for your first fill...and how much do you have now?
I was surpirsed when I went in for my first fill and she checked to see how much was in there (I thought it was empty) but she removed like 2.5cc then added I think 1 more cc to be at 3.5 total. I felt restriction right after but now, a few days later pretty much normal again. Hope I didnt "stretch" my pouch during Thanksgiving! Go back 12-22-10 and hope for more restriction.- First fill
first fill today too she removed some after drinking water but it feels good now. Finally feel some restriction which is great. Hope you are doing well!- Life after surgery and b4 your first fill
Just wondering how everyone is holding up after surgery but before their first fill. Food ideas, suggestions, anything you want to offer would be great!- Outrageous Octobers
I am scheduled for the day BEFORE Thanksgiving. Not sure if that is going to be good or bad although I have a small family that doesnt really celebrate very much so it should be ok. Nice to find someone (a twin) who is in the same boat as me. I also want to lose about 60 more pounds. We can do this right!!!!- Outrageous Octobers
When is your first fill? I feel so normal like I never even had surgery. Someone said that this is the hard part, after surgery and b4 first fill. Trying to watch what I eat too and I am definitely not eating like I was before. I seem to prefer liquid/soft stuff now. How are you feeling?- October 2010 (Bootiful Bandsters) Thread
sounds like this is the hardest time after surgery and before our first fill. We can all do this. We did not have surgery to fail. We all want just a little help losing weight and the rest is up to us. Thanks for the advice and it's nice to know I am not the only one who feels like this. We all need to heal and take care of ourselves and once we get our first fill, we will have the "help" we have been needing. This is such a huge learning experience for us all and we have to make some mistakes in order to learn from them. Hang in there, we WILL get there! surgery Oct 29th First fill Nov 24- October 2010 Bandsters!!
I was banded on the 29th as well and I am very hungry. I am trying to be prepared (have food that I am supposed to eat available) and eat several small meals during the day. I pureed some chicken last nite and added Terriaki and it was pretty good. How much have you lost so far? My weight loss has been SLOW! First fill November 24th!- Outrageous Octobers
Loz, I feel the same way. I was banded on the 29th and I feel like I could eat anything. I have follwed the diet good during the day at work but at night I start to get bored and want something. Last night I ate a piece of pizza and I had NO TROUBLE with it. I was so mad at myself for being over hungry and not prepared. So I went to the store pureed some chicken breat added some teriaki and it was pretty good. Need to go to the gym to keep busy-thats for sure. Well. I am back on track today with yogurt packed, Water, skim milk, sugar free pudding and am feeling pretty good. Glad to find someone who feels like me and I think a fill is going to make all the difference. Let me know what you think! Minnesota guest- October 2010 Bandsters!!
I feel the same way. I don't think the band is the easy way out though. Unless we make changes to our eating and exercise habits, the band will not work. So I look at the band as just a tool. THe hard part is up to me. - I'm full!....No, I'm hungry!!!
