  1. My seminar was August 5th and my first appointment with my surgeon was August 26th. I have Aetna too and I decided to do the 3 month history with them as well. I have already done the psych eval, the nutritionist appointment, and gotten all the paperwork from my primary physcian. The last appointment I need to finish is the fitness appointment. My final diet history appointment is scheduled for Oct 7th and my paperwork should be submitted for approval then. As long as everything still goes smoothly, they said I could have a surgery date as early as Nov 1st. Right now my tenative date is Nov 15th just because they are giving me more time for approval but said they can move it up if the approval comes back quickly and I am ready to move forward. I've been cutting back my calories, cutting down (almost cut out) sodas and I have been trying my best to excercise although it makes my knees hurt. I haven't been this motivated for alifestyle change before and with the support I get from people on here and at my doctor's office it is just making me more sure that I am making the right decision and that I will succeed.
  2. My surgery date is tenatively scheduled for Nov 15th. My final appointment is Oct 7th so if the insurance approval comes back quickly I might be able to get banded on Nov 1st. That would be nice. It is also nice to be able to read posts from people who are going through it. So many of my questions have been answered and it has given me some great motivation. Thanks guys! Melissa
  3. Where did you begin to find a support group? I haven't thought about asking my doctor's office about it yet but I think I will at my next appointment. I was going to use these online forums as my support system for now but an in person group would be great as well. Thanks for your help! Melissa
  4. Hi there, I am tenatively scheduled for Nov 15th depending on how fast the insurance approval takes after my last appointment October 14th. I am anxiously awaiting my final appointment so I can start waiting on the approval...lol. Melissa
  5. This is really encouraging for me because I have Aetna too. I haven't submitted mine for approval yet as I still have one more visit for my 3 month history on Oct 14th. Hopefully it will only take a week or less for approval. That would be awesome! Thanks for the info guys! Melissa
  6. I read a post from someone in a forum who adds one drop of buffalo hot sauce to chicken broth for a buffalo wing flavor and one drop of A-1 steak sauce to beef broth. I haven't tried it yet but she was raving about it. Worth a try.
  7. My name is Melissa and I am from Rockledge FL. I am 33 years old and my tenative surgery date is Nov 15th. I have one more appointment on October 14th for my diet history and then I can submit to my insurance for approval. If the approval comes quickly I might be able to move up my date. I am getting more excited  about the procedure after finding support forums like these but still a little anxious  because my fate is in the hands of someone at an insurance company. Good luck guys, look forward to chatting with everyone!
  8. My after surgery fees are $3700.00 for the program. This covers a year of aftercare, fills, gym membership with personal trainer, as well as a nutritionist, 24-hour on call nurse/counselor, etc. My insurance will cover the surgery but not the program fees.
  9. I have to get a 2 year weight history from my primary as well. I do not have to start the liquid pre-op diet until 3 days before my surgery. I think though I will start earlier just to have a better chance at reducing my liver size. I am also researching a lot of forums for some recipes to have a little variety so I might be able to stick to the liquid diet. One post I read somewhere suggested adding just a drop of buffalo hot sauce to chicken broth or a drop of A-1 to beef broth and it apparently tasted great. I have it on my list of things to try.
  10. I had my first appointment on Aug 26th butI had to do a 3 month diet history for insurance approval. I haven't been approved yet until I go to my last appointment on Oct 14th. My surgery is tenatively scheduled for Nov 15th. That is my timeline though based on what my insurance requires. I had all my psych, nutritionist and all other appointments finished within 2 weeks from my first appointment. Good luck!

  12. Hi everyone, My name is Melissa. I am 33 yrs old and I live in Rockledge, FL. This is my first post. I have one more appointment with my doctor for my diet history and then I will be able to submit to insurance for approval. I am scared, excited, nervous, anxious and every other emotion rolled into one. I am hoping that the insurance approval is quick so I can have the surgery as soon as possible. I am tenatively scheduled for surgery on Nov 15th. I am looking forward to meeting others on the same journey or who have been down the road already because I need all the support I can get. I don't have all the support I need over here so it will be nice to make friends. Please feel free to message me or whatever. I am looking forward to my healthy new life.
