  1. A great grandchild! You are truly blessed. I agree let's get this over with. I want a more normal life back. My 2nd week of pre-op only took off one freaking pound. What's with that? 7 more sleeps for me:w00t:.
  2. My nutritionist recommended 3 weeks for post menopausal women so I am on day12 tomorrow. I can't believe I have stuck to it. I was down 10 lbs on day 7, waiting until day 14 to weigh again. Mine was a tough one just 2 shakes 1 bar and 2 cups vegetables per day and diet drinks water and coffee. Looking forward to some variety even if it's just mushy. I forget, when is your surgery?
  3. Thanks for pioneering our group. You make it less scary for us. All the best as you go forward. Grams PS Passed my psych evaluation today so I'm cleared for surgery on the 12th. Hooray!:smile2:
  4. Turning 63 3 days after surgery! All these years of struggling can finally be over. I guess I wasn't ready before but I sure am now. I should have done this 20 years ago. Grams:thumbup:
  5. Will be thinking of you this morning. You're our trail-blazer! All the best. Will be watching for your post op reports. You go girl! Grams:thumbup:
  6. Who knew... I could survive on 2 shakes, 1 bar, and 2 cups of veggies per day for 9 days!!!! I must admit tonight I really want to eat but at this point, I'm 1/2 way tomorrow, I think I need to prove to myself I can do it. My surgery is on the 12th and I can't wait to get some help, also pudding and yogurt sound mighty good to me right now. So far I'm down 10 lbs preop with 11 days to go. Good luck to everyone having their surgeries starting tomorrow. Our treat this Halloween will be a new start. Grams
  7. Good to hear I'm not the only Grandma. I turn 63 3 days after my surgery, an early birthday present to myself. I'm on day 8 pre-op diet and can't wait to get started. All the best to you too. We can do it! Grams
  8. Hello all, look forward to sharing this journey with you. I think Bootiful Bandsters is a great name for our group. Grams:thumbup:
  9. Hooray another 60 something and an October bandster too. I'm 63, my surgery is Oct.12, and I'm not a southern belle, I'm from Canada. I am on day 8 of the pre-op diet and can't wait to be banded. Grams
  10. Thanks! Day 4 of pre-op and 16 more to go. It must have been hard for you keeping up with your little ones on so little food. Good for you making this choice while you're still young. Sending good thoughts your way. Grams
  11. You go girl, we can do this. Think of the old saying "Nothing tastes as good as being thin looks"! Grams
  12. Hi all, I am a 63 yr old Grandma who is happy to be a part of your group. I am on day 3 of my 3 week pre-op diet and will be banded on Oct 12 at the Maples Clinic in Wpg. Man. My personal goals are to lose 75 lbs and become physically fit. Putting on socks without huffing and puffing will be a sure sign of success for me. Do I wish I had done this sooner, you bet, is it too late for me, no way! Have been reading the posts while i made my decision, and now hope to help inspire others to take control of their weight. Grams I am fairly certain that given a cape and a really nice tiara I can change the world!
