  1. Funny, before reading this, I just posted about my first "sliming" experience. I ate some hamburger meat that my sleeve didn't like. It all came up. That is the ONLY time it has happened. I am thinking maybe I didn't chew it well enough, but who knows?
  2. My surgery got bumped to December 27. I am down 30 pounds since the sleeve and 72 pounds total with the lapband. I do LOVE the sleeve!!!!
  3. WELCOME!!! So glad you are here. : )
  4. I am about seven weeks out. Today I tried some hamburger meat for the first time. I made a hamburger patty with some cheese on top. I was only able to eat about 1/3. I started to feel like the meat was stuck. Then I starting sliming (which I have never had happen with the sleeve). I eventually threw all of it up. NOT fun! Anyone else had an experience like this? What foods caused it? I don't know if it was just too soon for hamburger meat or if my sleeve just doesn't like it. Any thoughts appreciated. I haven't had any food intolerances until today and I am not sick. Thanks!
  5. I hated my band and I LOVE my sleeve. I mean really, really love it! It has changed my life in such a positive way. Food used to have so much control of my life and it is so nice to be free!!! You will do great. Good luck and don't worry. You are making a great choice!
  6. You are super lucky!!! Congrats. You will LOVE the sleeve.

I HATED the drain. It hurt like crazy when they took it out. I did have soreness for a few days where the drain was, but now the pain is totally gone (7 weeks out). That evil drain is a small price to pay for all the benefits of the sleeve! LOL
  8. I almost made it! I got down to 215. Just one pound shy. Time to step it up for the next challenge!!!
  9. I am hoping to get to ONE-DERLAND by the end of this challenge! SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Becca...............215.................215.............195..........20
  10. Congrats! The time will fly and you will be sleeved before you know it.
  11. Little girls are such blessings! Glad you are doing so well.
  12. You look amazing! CONGRATULATIONS! I couldn't be happier for you.
  13. Whatever it takes to get the sleeve! LOL
  14. I am so happy for you! Congrats! The sleeve is great!
  15. Awww...don't worry. You will do great. The sleeve is such an amazing tool. It will change your life in ways you can't even imagine for the better. You can do this. You will love life with the sleeve!
  16. I only had to do a two day liquid diet and it make me feel weak (and crazy)! After surgery, it is different because you are in recovery mode and you don't really have an appetite. It can be tough, but hang in there. The sleeve is so worth it! Plus, you are getting a head start on your weight loss. You can do it!
  17. I was completely addicted to spinning the year I lost 70 pounds with the lapband. (Then it broke and I gained back half). Even when I weighed in the 280's, I was able to do it. Granted it was painful the first few classes. I belong to the YMCA and we have some great teachers. If you have a good teacher, it can make all the difference. I stopped going when the band started causing me physical pain about a year ago. I am planning on going back this week. I have been starting slow with the treadmill and weights. Now I think I am finally ready six weeks post op. I hope I can keep up! My advice: Ask for the seat cushion, see if they have any beginner classes, and keep going. Your body will adjust and you will grow to love it. I love the way I feel after spin class. NOTHING else makes me work that hard!
  18. I drink coffee just about every morning at six weeks out. I started drinking it again about three weeks ago. If you use the fat free creamer, there is only 10 calories per tablespoon. I have never had an issue. I often add milk to get in some protein. I read that black coffee can upset your stomach, so I always add creamer or milk.
  19. Congrats! I am so happy you were cleared. As far as which surgery to pick, the sleeve is 200% better than the band. The band never really worked for me. The sleeve is amazing! I have restriction without throwing up and I don't want food 24/7. You can pretty much gaurantee that with the band, you will be back in for some type of revision surgery with 10 years. Plus dealing with the fills is no fun. Just trying to help you out. I wish someone had been there to tell me the about the sleeve before I had my band. I should have had the sleeve first instead of living in pain with the band for 3 and a half years. Good luck!
  20. I am about six weeks out and I have noticed the same thing. I had a check up yesterday. My doctor said that once the swelling goes down, you can eat more. He reminded me I have to make good choices about what I am eating. The sleeve is a tool. It is a reminder to me that I still need to track calories and measure food while I am in the losing stage. I don't want to get in the bad habit of eating more just because I can.
  21. All sorts of things are vanishing! I hope it's just a glitch!
  22. I am just now reading this and I am so happy for you! Your feelings are so much like mine. I am just so thankful for the support of this site. I would have never had the courage to revise to the sleeve if it wasn't for the wonderful sleeve friends that revised before me. I know you will reach the rest of your goals! Congratulations!!!
  23. No regrets!! I love my sleeve. The only regret I have is getting the lapband. I wish I would have just had just gotten the sleeve in the first place.
