How Do You Know If You Need An "un-Fill"?

When you throw up you can irrate your band. When i eat to fast and throw up i can feel it tighten and can't eat solids for awhile. so i have just went to liquids for the day once i do get stuck. It does sound like you may be a little too full. Take a un-fill and see. But those bad weekends can catch up with ya good luck and stay with it.
  3. i was banded oct 2010. I was 260lbs. I commited to losing weight before i let the doctor cut on me. I got down to 169 within a year. Then my weight loss stalled. i was working out 5 days a week and eating better than i ever had. My goal weight is anywhere in the 150's. The doctor kept filling and filling and still gaining. He decided to empty my band to see if i had a leak. I only had 4cc and was suppose to have 10.5 cc. It took forever to get my insurance to cover the port replacement ( the doc kept using the wrong code). i got really depressed and stopped working out and eating right. I kepy telling myself i will get back to it when i got my port replaced. 20 lbs later (gained and 4 months) i got my port replaced ..( which was a small quick surgery. ) i am back on the down slope.. Many of my friends are going with the sleeve because its becomeing the gold standard. But if you are willing to put the work into it im sure it will be the right decision. All and all i LOVE my band and the will power it has given me. I am up to 7cc's now and this is the 1st time in 18 months that i have felt restriction. It can work!!

  6. Most people are going to tell you to stick to the doctors orders. I didn't and was fine. But everyone is diffrent. If you go to mushies a little early i would make them really runny. The easier you are on your stomach they easier it will be to tolerate solids. mashed potatoes wont keep you full for long. I would try more protien shakes sip them ( they can take up to 30 minutes to give you a full sensation. If you still aren;t sure call your doctors office. Im sure the nurse will give you some good info. Good luck.

    Snacks??

My newest favorite snack is oscar meyer smoked turkey slices with light laughing cow cheese. Loads of protien and only 80calories. ( 6 slices of tiurkey and 1 cheese wedge.)
  8. Those trackers are also not taking into account that you had WLS. The calories are much less for us having had it. I am losing 2/3 lbs a week eating under 1000 calories. It has alot to do with what you are eating for calories. Are the good or bad calories. I do a protien bar for Breakfast ( 2oo calories) high protien lunch lunch meat iwth cream cheese and a fruit (150-200) calories and then i am free to have a "normal" dinner at home with my husband and kids (400-600) calories. I don't excersice much yet. but it is on my to do list. This is working for me. Again i watch everything i eat. Working out the carbs is my biggest struggle but i am happy with losing 2/3 lbs a week.

    Would you do it again?

Short answer is YES. I have learned some much about myself already! I just wish i had this will power without a surgery. I have totatally changed the way i eat now that i am banded. I can eat anything. Nothing gets stuck. But i finally got the mindset that if i went thru surgery i WILL lose this weight. And so far so good I LOVE my Band. And would do it over again in a heartbeat. That said everyone is diffrent. Make this decision because YOU want it. Not because a doctor is tellin you to lose weight or to please someone else. This needs to be your decision. You will be the 1 living with it.

Gross, But I need to POOP

After surgery i couldnt go for over a week. I knew there was stool there but couldnt get it out. My mother in law is a nurse so she came over and said i was impacked. Fleet emema made a week long belly ache go away instantly! Don't wait too long like i did. !!! Good luck,

    glue on incisions

mine was FOREVER! lol just kidding but it was there for a long while. They tell you not to scrubb it but it looked so dirty all the time after about 2 weeks i scrubbed most of the excess off but the doc will tell you it will wash off over time.

    TRICARE

the orientation consit of the doctor talking about the 3 tyler os Weight loss surgerys. Band, sleeve and bypass. It's alot of info that you may already know if oyu have done research already. Recovery time. What to expect from the surgery. I requested my referral in sept and was banded in middle nov. I love it but do your own research and know what you want. good luck

    weekly lost average?

We are all doing awesome thanks for the feedback. I was just curious if 2 lbs was the norm. Keep up the good work. At 2 lbs a week im stoked to see myself at the 1 year mark. Fingers crossed i stay on this roll. It doesn't really feel like a diet to me:) I try new things weekly. This week is a no carb week. next week will be a super high protien week or something. Makes me look up new recipes and keeps m busy.
  14. I was banded Nov 19th and i love it. I know everyone is diffrent but i am kind of curious on how much on average everyone is losing weekly. I have lost 2/3 lbs a week since being banded. My doctor has told me at both fills that i should even out and might gain a little and if i do its normal. I REFUSE to gain any..lol. I am extremly happy with my 2 lb weekly average and hope to continue. Is this about everyones average? I don't work out much yet. Too many excuses i guess. I walk a mile twice a week if im lucky. But i track everything i put in my mouth. I havent has anything to drink but water or unsweet tea since surgery ( no liquid calories) and i have been a calorie counter since my journey began Nov 1st. I would love to know howm any lbs a week others are losing.
