  1. Hi, I had a hernia and I didn't even know I had one until I had my band done. I also had to have my gallbladder out as well but they did that surgery one month before I had the band done. All is well and you will do fine. If you have any questions just ask. Good luck to you
  2. Good luck to you I am getting banded as well. Just waiting a little nervous but I am ready.
  3. My pre op diet starts tomorrow I am on clear liquids for two days. My surgery is on the 18th. I am getting a little anxious but I am ready.
  4. Good luck to you. This is the beginning of a new you and a new lifestyle.
  5. Hi I live in Wallace. I am having my surgery with Dr. Paul Enoch in Cary. I started out in Wilmington but I did not like the Doctor there. Dr. Enoch has been totally wonderful. My journey started Sept 29 I had all of my evaluations done by Dec 4. I was side tracked by gallbladder surgery which I had done Jan 14 I am recovering from that, by the way Dr. Enoch did that as well. My surgery date for lapband is Feb 18.
  6. Congrats and good luck to you. Please keep us posted on your care.
  7. Gallbladder surgery was a good. They gave me too much pain medicine but all is well. I feel so much better without the gallbladder. I am a little sore on the side where they did the surgery but all in all. I am well. Congrats on your surgery. How did it go for you?
  8. I will be banded on Feb 18. We have Tricare and it was a breeze. I was approved by Tricare within a week. I had my psych eval which was painless my nutrition eval was wonderful I had to wait because of the Holidays and then I found out that I needed to have my gallbladder out so that was done on Friday without any problems. I look forward to being banded.
  9. I have Tricare Prime and no there is no supervised diet. Tricare requirements is that you are 100 pounds over your ideal weight. Most of the time, the doctors office lumps everyone under one insurance requirement forgetting that each insurance has a different requirement. My doctor was trying to tell me that Tricare was requiring a drug and alcohol test, I called Tricare and found out that was not one of there requirements. Also I found out that my doctor accepts Tricare Prime none of the hospitals that he is affiliated with are in Tricare Network so that mean I can go but they may bill me the 15% cost. That is why I have insurance. I may have to find another doctor. I have all of my tests done even my labs. So I will see. Keep us posted.
  10. Thanks I will PM and tell you what is going on. But I have Tricare North Region I live in North Carolina. I hate being so close but yet still so far.
  11. I know but with everything else going on right now this is not a bill that I can afford. I am not sure about the hospital's policy right now. It is up to the hospital if they will take the 85% and call it a day or will they try and bill me for the 15% it just never occurred to me that the hospital would not take Tricare. My daughter has cancer and the hospital that she goes to is in our network. Go figure. I just don't know right now. Thank you for the encouraging words.
  12. Yes, I got my referral from the PCM and the surgeon is in network but the hospitals that he is affiliated with are not in my insurance network not really understanding this one. My insurance has approved all of my appts thus far. I am just getting concerned about the hospital part I don't want them to bill me back the 15%.
  13. Okay, I am doing my checklist for surgery. Seminar check Nutritionist check Sleep Study check Psych eval on Friday Lab at Hospital NO GO THEY ARE NOT IN MY INSURANCE'S NETWORK wtf. Physician In network I have Tricare Prime which means no copay. Everything is covered 100%. If I go out of network then I have to pay 15% of the total hospital bill?????!!!! Then why do I have insurance????? I left a message with my coordinator about this. I can't afford 15% of anything. Boy I tell you if it isn't one thing it is another.
  14. Congrats to you. I know that you will have success in your new journey. Please keep us posted as you continue.
