  1. Congratulations! Being able to do things with my DD was my main reason for being banded too. She thinks I don't like rides because at Six Flags I always sit and wait while the others ride. The truth is I'm afraid of not being able to fit in the rides restraints and having to get off (it happened once on a kiddie coaster and I was HUMILIATED). Congrats on your weight loss, great job!
  2. Congratulations! I was banded 8/26. Sooooo sick of fluids, I feel like I am going to float away... Good Luck!
  3. Congratulations! I am an 8/26/10 bandster too!
  4. Wow, what a coincidence! What do you do? I feel better standng up, so I think returning to work will be just fine. I might even make a point of doing the 3 filghts of stairs whenever I'm free (baby steps, ya know?) If I drink more Water I'm less hungry, but then I'm up all night peeing. Thanks for the welcome and good luck to you also!
  5. Thanks! Do you have an idea of when you'll be banded?
  6. I am healing pretty well, adjusting life on liquids (although I cannot wait for some variety). My journey took a VERY long time and I cannot believe I am actually BANDED. Not telling many people, this is private matter for me. My expectations are bad enough to deal with---not interested in the expectations of others.
  7. I reached my all time high time while waiting for clearance. I could not believe when the scale read 300 pounds! I think its pretty common for those of us with weight issues to run a gauntlet of emotions relating to our weight and body image. Just know you are traveling down the right path, and when one is on the right path things will inevitably come to block us. Enjoy your family this weekend, and don't let anyone or anything knock you off your path.
  8. This is my first blog post as a Bandster! I am 8 days post-op. I think I am adjusting pretty well. I cheated a lil’ today though, I had a small slice of cheesecake (damn it went down easy). I started felling hunger again yesterday; I only got 1 week of no hunger L I thought that a diet of sugar free pudding, Yoplait ® light and soup broth would result in dramatic weight loss, but I am only down 4 pounds since my pre-op appointment. My highest weight was 300 pounds and I weighed in at 284.7 today (after a little over 3 weeks of modified eating). I know I should be happy with these numbers but part of me just wants a little more. Hopefully in a few weeks I can begin exercising and speed it along. I’m a teacher and return to work Tuesday. I am a little afraid of how I am going to get away with my full liquids in front of others. I only told my 2 closest friends at work. I’m keeping this a little to myself this until I am sure I can do it. My own expectations are enough for me to deal with. I’m not really interested in other peoples. I began this journey over 2 years ago. I encountered some obstacles along the way, and can hardly believe I’m now banded! Until we meet again~~~M

  10. I really want to try Zumbra, but I am ashamed to be the fat un-fit chick in the class. My 6YO daughter asked for the "Dance Your Ass Off" workout DVD and is having such fun with it. I can't wait to heal up and try it with her.
  11. I mix the generic brand (CVS) of Benefiber in hot broth 3x/day, it makes a HUGE difference. Good luck.
