  1. I have the same problem and I am going today for an unfill. I can only eat bites and I am vomiting that up immediately. My husband almost called 911 because he thought I was having a heart attack the way I was holding my chest. My poor 3 year old son doesn't want me to eat because food makes me sick. Hopefully everything works out for you:) and me
  2. Ok, I am in the pureed stage. i went out and bought all the stuff the nut said. I have canned salmon, chicken, cream of chicken and mushroom soups, yogurts, applesauce, malt o meal. Now what do I do with it. I was thinking of salmon, but with what? I would def. chew it good, but do you guys have some recipes. I haven't been horribly hungry since my surgery on Thursday, but I am starting hear a grumbling voice in my stomach. I even bought the lite miracle whip. I mean do I put the chicken with the mayo and have just that? Hmm are crackers permissible? I think this surgery is starting to get REAL. Honeymoon is over, I'm about to kick butt with some recipes for the next 2 weeks with your help
  3. I have been experimenting with Protein Shakes and have made a really nice one if anyone wants to try. The recipe follows: crushed ice 8 oz skim milk 1 banana (mine was very small and brown-my mom friends says ripe) 1/2 unfinished strawberry yogurt (low fat) 1 scoop of dymatize vanilla Protein powder I blended it all in the blender and it was good. I did have a slight taste of protein, but my 3 year old son loved it. I gave him a taste in his own cup. Very Tasty and I think I can survive with this. Now I have to see how much protein seeign as how I gave my son some. 24 g for protein 8 g for milk 2.5 g for yogurt (I only used about 1/2) 34.5g total ( not bad for about 2 drinks ) I will drink the rest later today. Now lets see how long it takes for me to be hungry again. Hoping I can go 2.5 to 3 hours.
  4. I was banded on 2/17 and they gave me that the next day. I stayed overnight-they gave me juice and broth that night. In the a.m. they gave me the malt o meal and milk. I really didn't eat it because I was not hungry. My schedule was 1 day of clear liquids (I was in hospital), 1-2 days of full liquids, 2 weeks of pureed, and 2 weeks of soft. I definitely need help with the pureed stage because hubby is grinding all food and it is not tasting good. Scrambled eggs pureed is not good! I ended up eating my sons eggs and chewing them really good. Malt o Meal sounds good right now (licking lips)
  5. Whew! I needed you guys yesterday when the site was down. My mind is ready for the surgery, but my body did not catch up. I was doing fine at work then suddenly while I was teaching my k5 students how to write a letter on a chart tablet my back spasmed and I almost hit the floor. I could not move some students thought I was being silly. My more observant students were like are you okay Mrs. B? I told them I needed a chair---my one sweetie swung my chair to me from across the room and two other students helped me get to the chair. I was in pain. I could not walk. I rested for a moment and was able to walk shortly after. A teacher gave me 2 tylenols and I was able to finish the day. Fast foward---I think it might be stress. At night I started feeling better once I was passing gas and emptying my bowels. This a.m. too. I report for surgery at 11. Do you think my body is nervous, but my mind didn't get the message? Well I'm checking my bag again. talk to everyone once I get out!!!
  6. Congrats! This is our week...another chapter in our lives book. Keep us posted on everything ... Jblady
  7. I too am a February Bandster. I am so excited I can barely contain myself. I will have surgery in exactly 1 week. I am running around getting stuff together to make sure I am prepared~groceries, protein shakes, bras, heating pads, and meds. Is there anyone else getting banded on the 17th???
  8. Thanks everyone! I'm on my way to Vitaman Shoppe to buy the Gold Standard double chocolate and the Designer's whey vanilla. I h ope to get the Premier Nutrition brand as soon as my friend who has a Costco membership gets better. What flavors are best just in case I have her buy it?
  9. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Singing... I will survive as long as I have my Bandsters I know I'll make it through I will thrive, I will thrive, I will thriiive
  10. What are some good ready made protein drinks and the powder protein? At my nutritionist mtg today the girl just skirted around saying I'd have to try some. I just wanted her to give me an idea...some names so that I can go in the store with some idea of what I'm looking for. Heckie...this is life transforming.
  11. What are some good soups for full liquid phase?
  12. What is Phenergan? For pain or nausea? I thank all of you so much. I had my preop appts this morning and they are so impressed with how much I know and the level of questioning asked. This is all possible because of all of you guys here. I don't post much, but I sure read your comments and they HELP me. I will say that I don't remember anyone stating how miserable I would be during the Upper GI. They made me do crystals and barium. I was sure I was going to gag (and they were too), but I held it together. Now I feel sorry for my students because of all my burping and passing gas. I guess I'll just have to stand next to one of them and twirl my nose or blame it on the chair or floors. Teachers you know what I'm talking about I'm just kidding...there is one boy in my class everytime I DO pass gas say, "Mrs. B was that you?" I politely reply honey that must be the chair squeaking. When he gets older he'll probably think there was always an odor after the chair squeaked... I am rolling over laughing at myself. I don't know what has gotten in to me. Maybe they took too much blood.
  13. The list so far is... Gas X strips Heating pad Lip balm liquid Tylenol slippers pillow contacts/glasses hair scarf/comb frozen fruit snap front bra sugar free pudding/jell-o broth soups (please recommend some for each stage) nausea medication sugar free popscicles/fudge bars
  14. I normally buy bras from Lane Bryant. Do they have snap front bras? I hate wearing bras with wire anyway, they always leave marks on my skin.
  15. Thanks. I have a blender like that, but I need to get the frozen berries/fruit. Thanks so much.
