  1. I must be a rare case, I am completely filled in my band and have no restriction. I had a fluro done a few months ago and I'm not dialated. Any suggestions? I still have to lose about 40-50 lbs.
  2. Best of luck to the both of you. Everyone is deserving of someone who will give them the attention and time that they need and while he was a very nice guy, we just couldn't make it work. My prince charming is out there somewhere....
  3. Well I'm single again. The guy I was dating for 2 months works too much for my liking and we live an hour from each other so it was just too hard for us to see each other. It was mutual and I'm back on singlesnet and plenty of fish. We'll see what happens....
  4. 2005- JUNE 2008-1ST PIC-ME IN THE PINK SHIRT, 2ND PIC ME ON THE FAR RIGHT
  5. You definately do eat less than before but there are too many ways to eat around the band. You just have to stick to your portions and watch what you eat.
  6. That is definately an NSV :-) Congrats to you Denise.
  7. Oh thank you. I wouldn't have been able to do it without the band and I'm currently at a long plateau, kinda stressful but I'll push through. My surgeon's name is Ira Kasper. He's now retired, so I've just been going and getting fills by some doctors that took over for him. No support system from those doctors at all. Basically just a fill center. I'm completely filled in my band and have no more room for a fill so it's all up to me now. I know several people who were banded by Dr. Spivak. My mom was banded by Dr. Spiegel.
  8. Hey soon2be who is your doctor?
  9. Trust me, it will be mostly up to you to choose the right foods and exercise. Stay away from ice cream because it goes down too easily. Remember this is no magic cure and the band is a tool that only you can work with. Good luck to you.
  10. Why would you want to put your band in danger of someone who is not skilled in fills?
  11. Sounds great Denise! Good luck to you.
  12. Oh ya, definately take it early because it will last for several hours and you don't want to go to sleep and have an accident on yourself while you're asleep. It hits you fast and you might barely make it to the toilet. It's gross...Good luck with that!
  13. You know I would really like to get on either South Beach or Atkins diet but the problem for me is the first 2 weeks of induction. I only lasted 2 days because I got terrible headaches, all I wanted to do was sleep, and didn't have the energy to even exercise. Any suggestions to get me through those horrible 2 weeks?:incazzato:
  14. I've read lapband for life written by Dr. Ariel Ortiz or performs lapband surgery in Mexico. It's very informational and I found it very interesting. Also I'm in the process of reading Khalia Ali's biography about her experience with lapband. Hope this helps!
  15. Hey girl, When I was at my highest weight everyone always told me you're so beautiful blah blah but I could never get a man and now that I've lost weight, it's still about the same. Guys will look all day long but never approach me. I guess it is the age thing. I have a lot of older men hit on me as well. But my age limit would have to be 33. My boyfriend is 31 and likes me for who I am. My confidence has definately gone up but I still need a little more. Just wanted to let you know that you're not the only one out there and it feels good for me to know that I'm not the only one.
  16. Very few doctors will do fills for other surgeons patients. I know one but he charges 400 for the first initial visit and 150 for fills. I'm filled to maximum capacity already so I won't need to really go in unless something is wrong or if someday I get pregnant and need to be unfilled.
  17. Thank you all for your comments. I feel a little better. He pretty much told me to not set unrealistic goals. I only want to weigh 170. I'm not expecting to weigh 100 lbs, now that's unrealistic. I'm starting on Atkins to kind of boost my weight loss. I'm filled to maximum capacity in my band so it's all on me now:rolleyes:
  18. No his name is Dr. Kazan or something like that. He's a total jerk off and I hope he reads this.
  19. I've been banded since November 28, 2006 and have lost 80 lbs. Since July of 2007 my doctor has retired and I've had 2 fills both by two different doctors that took over for him. When I had my last fill, it was by a plastic surgeon that is skilled in doing fills. He asked me how much I've lost, I told him 80, he then told me "I've never seen anyone lose over 100 lbs with lapband." I was pissed. I told him "Well I sure have" He said well I've been doing tummy tucks and liposuction for Lapband patients for over 5 years and haven't yet. He says you will only lose more with Gastric Bypass. WTF? Why am I paying 200 dollars for this fill and you talk to me like that and I've never even met you before in my life. What the hell is up with this negativity from a doctor whom knows nothing about Lapband just knows how to suck fat off of your body and give you fills? UGHHHH!!!! I've been furious since Friday and am so much more motivated to just prove him wrong! Comments please...
  20. Hey Denise, I've met an awesome guy on singlesnet on May 5. And since then have been inseparable and I have deleted my singlesnet and plenty of fish profiles. Good luck to you. It will come to you when you least expect it:biggrin2:
  21. It's so good that people our age do something about being overweight now rather than waiting until you're older and having so many health issues. Congrats to all of you and I wish you all success with the band!
  22. Screw her! That was disrespectful and uncalled for. She was never a friend to you. If I were you, I would never speak to her again but that's just me. I usually am a very forgiving person but when it comes to stuff like that, there's no forgiving it. Sorry to be so blunt it just makes me mad when people who are supposedly your friends show their real colors :wink2:
  23. I've met a lot of people from Plenty of Fish, but recently have really hit it off with someone I met from Singlesnet.com. I tend to meet a lot of guys that only want one thing from me. I'm definately looking for someone on a more serious level.
