I am 65, and my surgery date is July 25th, with Dr Keith Kim in Orlando. I start a two week liquid diet this Friday. Have a meeting Wednesday to discuss my labs. I am worried that something in my lab work could delay the surgery. Has anyone had that experience? I also have to lose 8 lbs before my surgery. I am hoping the liquid diet will take care of that. Has anyone else had to do a liquid diet, and if so, what was your weight loss? thanks

I am 65. Waiting for clearance from cardiologist. Have to get a stress test, if that clears, I should get a surgery date shortly after. My surgeon is Dr Keith Kim in Celebration, Florida. Has anyone else had the nuclear stress test, and were there any problems form that?

I am 61, and would get it tomorrow if I had the money. Am trying to save enough to go to Mexico. Can I ask where you are having yours done?

I am scheduled for Feb 5th with Dr Aceves, and am traveling alone. Would love to have someone to go with.

The doctor did say that when you lose weight that fast that you lose muscle tissue, so that when you gain it back, you gain back all fat...being 14 and with unsupportive parents she probably wasn't taught much about exercise or nutrition. I never understood how a person can gain weight back after a bypass.

I get more concern about going to Mexico than I do about the actual surgery. Just got a text today to not go to Mexico because they are hanging people off of bridges, and drug wars are going on etc etc. Has anyone who has recently gone to Mexico had any feeling of danger? I haven't seen anything about that mentioned on this forum.

Thanks so much for the awesome speach. I feel better, and I can totally relate to everything you said. I wish you success also. When is your surgery? Can I ask if you are going outside of the states? I am scheduled for Feb 4th, Dr Aceves. I think I will quit watching Dr Oz for awhile. Every time I see those weight loss stories, I think to myself, "Why can't I do that?" They make it seem like anybody that really wants to lose can do it. Keep us posted on how your journey. Thanks again.

This is the first I have heard about going home with a drainage tube. Is this normal? I am going to Mexico, and won't have easy access to the Dr once I get home.
