  1. I eat one ounce of deluxe mixed nuts each day. It's a mix of pecan, cashews and almonds. I have a weakness for nuts so I measure out my one serving and put the can away.
  2. I *think* my surgeon said because it increases the amount of air you take in when you drink. I'm not sure if that is actually the case or not. I've seen people post on this board who say that their surgeon specifically advises them to drink using a straw post op.
  3. I think you should rely on YOURSELF to monitor your eating. You can do this!
  4. Tera's Whey is organic. Comes in three flavors - super pricey.
  5. I'm wondering if your surgeon put fluid in the band at time of surgery. If so, call and have it taken out. You shouldn't have to struggle to take small sips.
  6. My surgeon told me it was ok to rub a small amount of baby oil on them.
  7. It gets better every day. Sip sip sip all day long. The pain you feel might be gas pain. The burning doesn't sound good. I wonder if your surgeon put fluid in your band at the time of surgery. Do you know?
  8. I don't even know what that is!! What is it?
  9. I want to say it took about a week to ten days for the puffiness to go away. I didn't have gas pains at all so mine might have been sooner than others. It does get better every day - even if only slightly. Hang in there!
  10. I eat three 1/2 cup meals per day (no fill yet) plus one jello sugar free pudding in the evening. I am supposed to be working up to 1 cup three times a day but I am just not hungry enough for that much at a time.
  11. Try massaging a bit of baby oil on them. It also gets rid if the sticky stuff from the steri-strips. You might want to ask your doc first though - this is just what mine suggested.
  12. I hear some people are tighter in the morning. I don't think I have the sensation but I have heard others recommend warm fluids in the morning to help with that. That being said... I am a bit concerned that you had a slip a few months ago, had it repaired and then push your newly filled band at a dinner the bext night by eating as much as your husband. Please be careful with your little tummy!
  13. I think EAS makes a carb control version of their shakes. I'd go with that one.
  14. I'm vegetarian but eat fish. Best decision I ever made.
  15. I eat one Jello sugar free pudding every night. Creme brûlée is my favorite flavor and Boston Creme Pie is a close second!
  16. For me, the muscle milk left a powdery taste in my mouth (the ready to drink) and it made my breath yucky but some people on here love it. My grocery store sells them in single servings as does my CVS. Maybe you can buy one or two and check them out?
  17. Could it be a band placement issue? Has anyone checked to see if your band had slipped? I really feel for you not being able to keep anything down. I really hope it improves for you.
  18. I use a cuisinart hand blender. Super easy to charge and I can put it in a drawer when I'm not using it.
  19. I am pretty sure that your surgeon will select which band to put in.
  20. It is! If I feel thick when I wake up I just close my eyes when I get on the scale. It automatically logs it into Lose It and I don't have to look.
  21. I would guess that it is because you seriously irritated your stomach and the irritation needs to subside. Liquids should be gentle on your tummy. It may take that long for the irritation to get better.
  22. When you say you get stuck if you "aren't careful"? What do you mean? I'd say get careful like you normally are and that should solve the problem.
  23. I just got a great wi-fi scale from Withings. It automatically puts my weight into my calorie tracker. Love it!
  24. I have had kidney stones once - I did the Atkins induction stage for five weeks solid.. Lost 37 pounds but gained kidney stones. I haven't had any problems with kidney stones in ten years. Perhaps you could add cranberry juice or pills to your diet post op if you are worries about stones. Beat wishes - stones are a b*tch.
  25. I was self pay on the entire thing but my anesthesiologist was from a separate company and his charge was $1500.
