It won't prevent you from having your surgery. Just get back on track and follow your plan! Good luck!!

It's most likely the hormones being released into your body from your shrinking fat stores. Talk to your surgeon and see if they have a recommendation. I wouldn't recommend smoking anything since smoking impairs your body's ability to heal. Just try to stay away from any anger triggers. This too shall pass.

My boyfriend and I are in our mid-sixties. We had both been thrown away twice by the time we met nine years ago. I was short and round, he is tall and thin, but smokes. The one thing we appreciate most about each other is that neither one of us has asked the other to change. We realize that health and habit changes are very personal decisions.
To comment on food as foreplay: It is at our house, too, but in a healthy way. He is from Malta and has crazy Mediterranean cooking skills. It did not take him long to figure out that my favorite aphrodesiac is the smell of onions and garlic cooking. A man who cooks is very sexy.
We make adjustments now to compensate for the change in my nutrition requirements. If he makes spagetti and meatballs, I pass on the Pasta and have meatballs with extra cheese. He makes homemade breads and eats some every day. I might have one thin slice when it first come out of the oven, but bread has a tendancy to sit in my new stomach like playdough. So, if he has a Peanut Butter sandwich, I might have Peanut Butter on a spoon.
pizza was one of my favorite foods before. Now he just takes one of those big giant mushrooms and bakes my favorite sauce and toppings on that. It is sexy to me that he is considerate of my dietary needs and goes out of his way to make what I can eat as delicious as possible. My dear beloved ice cream has been replaced with ricotta and Greek yogurt blended with vanilla and some sweetener. It has way fewer carbs and helps meet my Protein requirements.
Our day still revolves around the kitchen and we still enjoy eating together very much. I eat anything I want, but what I want has changed. You don't have to match your mate bite for bite to enjoy a meal together. We accept each other "as is" and don't apply any pressure to change anything.

I think you might have a little more luck getting this answered if you start a new thread about it. I don't think you can exercise "too much", so long as you aren't risking injury and you are eating enough to sustain your exercise. It is possible that you are gaining muscle and that some of your weight gain is due to that. If you are eating on plan and exercising regularly, you should be seeing some results. Even if the scale isn't moving, your clothes should fit better, you should feel better, and you would probably look better.

I no longer have a lap band, but I would recommend getting to your doctor and getting his opinion. The sooner you get a hold on the weight the gain, the less you will have to get back off. Isn't the point of the band that you can go in for fills or adjustments to get yourself at a healthy weight?

HappygoSusan reacted to JamieLogical in Fatigue....
I was severely fatigued the first several weeks after my sleeve. There wasn't really a lot I *could* do about it, other than get a lot of rest after work. Things really turned around for my once I was allowed solid foods and I was able to get in more calories each day. In those early weeks, I was lucky to be getting maybe 400 calories a day. Once I was closer to 800 calories a day, I felt human again.

I don't agree with your doctor's diet and think everyone has given sound diet advice.... BUT I also don't agree with you abandoning YOUR DOCTOR's Advice. You need to trust your doctor and their judgement. My suggestion is to either question your doctor about the refined carbs/processed foods and perhaps ask for a referral to a nutritionist/dietician who could work in conjunction with your doctor or find a new doctor. If you abandon your doctor's advice now it could be a slippery slope when the advice is necessary and important.

They use something like this in Britain. If you watch Fat Doctor on Hulu, the surgeon uses it in patients who need to get to a lower weight to safely have other WL surgeries.

So I buy Enell sports bras. They are expensive, but the girls are firmly planted in them. I realized that the bra I had prior to surgery was now to big (I noticed more jiggle). They size between 0 and 8, and sizes 6-8 cost extra (like any thing plus size..ugg) and only comes in boring colors.
I was able to downsize from a size 7 bra too a size 4, and got a cutesy color too, with no upcharge! Seems so minor but this really made my day. Can't wait for my run in the morning!!

There once was a women named Ellen
Whose weight was too much for the ‘tellin
But the sleeve and gym helped her get thin
Now her size she is happily ‘yellin.
100 lbs lost since the start of the 2-week pre-surgery diet on July 30, 2014. About 150 lbs lost from my all-time highest weight. Pants size day of surgery: women’s 22/24. Today: size 6 petite for the most part! Percentage body fat pre-surgery: 49.3; today: 38.3 (still not normal, but working on it) Blood pressure medicine went from 2 different prescriptions 2X a day, to one prescription, once a day at the minimal dose!
Many, many more changes I could detail, but you get the idea! So, so happy, grateful and THRILLED to be normal for the first time ever. Went on my first diet at age 6. Losing 100 lbs is a lot to wrap my head around – there’s certainly a lot less of me if anyone cares to wrap their arms around me (hint, hint to single men in New England).
Doctor never gave me a goal, I choose 132 so that I could have a normal BMI, but I’m not sure I can get there without plastic surgery. I’ll keep going until I see and feel what weight is best. I work out a lot, so may have to up that goal a bit.
Bariatric Pal has helped me a lot – I read more than I post – so thank you all very, very much for going with me on this journey and helping me reach this milestone.
    Sincerely,
    Ellen, AKA Tiny Tina
