    hi!

As many will tell you, losing the weight isn't just about getting this surgery. It's all up to you. It's all up to how well you work with what you've been given  Stay focused, be positive, and follow all the nutritional and exercise guidelines given to you. You will do great
  2. I'm one week post op and feeling great. Having my gallbladder out was a whole lot worse! I firmly believe a positive attitude helps the situation! I've been trying my best to take a positive spin on everything and remain hopeful and focused for the journey that's to come. You will all be fine  Good luck to everyone getting banded soon!
  3. awesome job! looking good in your pixs :)

  4. hope you're doing well today :) i'm finally starting to feel like myself again except all the nasty bruising on my stomach....

  5. you look amazing! congrats :)

  6. I, too, had surgery last Friday and today was the first day that i got out of bed without making that "discomfort" face. I've been moving around a lot because I heard that helps with the recovery process. I believe it. I've been going for short walks every night and I am feeling great!

Is there something wrong with me?

Nothing wrong with you at all! I am the same way. I haven't had much pain other than some swelling in my tummy and bruising on one incision. I only needed pain meds the night at the hospital and tylenol has covered every other pain since. I've been able to take 20-30 minute walks around the block every night and all my food/liquids are going down as they should be. Things are different for everyone, I know reading some of these posts I have to count my blessings for not having all the problems many out there do!
  8. so far so good :) i'm just ready to be healed already so I can start working to get these pounds off!!! Luckily, age is on my side, so hopefully i'll start seeing progress like you have!

  9. you're doing so good! congrats! just saw the new pixs!!!

  10. congratulations on your weight loss! you look awesome :)

  11. how's it going? I have been doing very well. I thought it was going to be a whole lot worse than it's been :) Granted i'd love to have that slice of pizza by now, but i'll survive without it! Today I finally get to start having some soups, cream of wheat, cottage cheese, and a few other things. sooooooooo exciting :) Was able to have cottage cheese this morning and it went down great. How have you been doing?

    What kind of Protein Shakes??????

I had to do the bariatric advantage ones from the doctor. They taste pretty good compared to atkins shakes. However, after 18 days on 'em, i'm SICK OF THEM and have bought some isopure to try out :smile2:
  13. whoa lordy, today i'm officially sick and tired of my Protein shakes! I had them 14 days pre-op and since surgery on friday! musy foods couldn't be coming fast enough! I think i may need to switch it up to Isopure for a bit because i'm starting to get reallllllllllll grossed out with these shakes!! Haven't bothered checking the scale yet, i'm going to wait for a month post-op when i'm fully healed and then start worrying about the scale :smile2: hope everyone else is doing fabulously
  14. Hey there! I am doing well so far. Walking has definately been helping. I haven't slept as much as I thought I would. Sitting up definately feels better. My vitamins and liquids have been going down good. Today was my day to move back to drinking 8oz of my protein shakes 3 times a day! WOW, it's been a challenge! I have absolutely no appetite for them, but I know I need to get them in. Only thing bothering me is this tightness in my chest, perhaps i'm still drinking liquids too quickly....or it's anesthesia.

  15. Hey there, so far so good. Got home from the hospital yesterday morning. Liquids are going down well as long as I remember to SIP! I have soreness in my neck and a little in my belly. Aside from that, i think i'll be just fine!

  16. Got banded on Friday! Had a one night stay in the hospital and came home very early saturday morning. Liquids are going down well. Gas pains were terrible friday night and saturday. Yesterday I developed a sore neck and throat. Not too sure what that's about. any ideas folks? Liquids are going down well. Water, sugar free popsicles, broth, and my protein shakes have all gone down with no "vomitatious" feelings. Started vitamins and had no problem there either. All in all, i'm doing well! Good luck to everyone else in recovery

    Darn...

Weight loss journey's are like a war with your own body. Within each war there are many battles. This was just one of them. Just because you don't win this battle doesn't mean you lose the war. There are many battles to come in which I am SURE you will prevail. You just need to keep your head above water and keep fighting and be strong.
  24. SOOOOOO CLOSE! I did my pre registration this morning and payed off the doctor.......sadness, savings gone :) lol it will be so worth it. I was walking down the hall of the pre-surgery area and getting butterflies in my stomach! Are you going to have to stay one night? I thought i'd be going home by the nurse said my orders said a one night stay.....i may call the doctor about that.

  25. Congrats on your surgery! mind is on friday, what can i expect?!
