  1. So because it was a recall did realize pay for the repair??? I hope all goes good for you now!
  2. I called my nutritionist and she told not to worry that this was the reason I wanted the surgery was to help lose. It was common for people to gain a little right before surgery. She just told me once I start the 14 day liquids I had to lose 10 pounds, she said when I go for my pre-op appointment to make sure the nurse documented my new weight so they wouldn’t think I did not lose on the 14 day liquid. She did encourage my to taper off now and try not to gain to much more before my start date that it would better for me all around.
  3. I called the nutritionist and left a message. I reread all the paper work it does say to start 3 to 4 weeks before surgery to eat better and exercise so I’m going to be doing double time the next few weeks. Thanks Betsy oh and by the way love your new picture!
  4. Went to see my PCP this morning and I gained 10 pounds do you think when I see the surgeon at my preop appointment he will say anything? I don’t start my liquids until Nov 3rd. My preop is Nov 11th. I seem to be eating like I will never be allowed to eat again. I have decided to start to protein shakes a day and a small healthy dinner in the evening and see if I can make the extra ten pounds go away J I was hoping not to have to do that as I don’t want to get burnt out on the shakes before I even get the band.
  5. Thanks for this idea, they are my favorite for cold stuff, I like the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth also, just wish you could make it hotter. I start preop Nov. 3rd.
  6. I have to do 14 days I keep telling myself it I can do it.:smile2:
  7. What a great idea!!!!!!
  8. Was the soduim low from the preop diet?? Glad your back on your way to having a band!!!!
  9. Donna I'm a day ahead of you in Orlando Fl.
  10. your port sticks out? My doc said I wouldn't even know it was there unless I felt around for it
  11. good for you and a fast date too!
  12. Just saying hello to very everyone—I hope everyone who is at the beginning of the month comes back here after your surgery and post how it’s going. Monday I went for my chest x-ray and my upper GI tests. Yuk is all I can say about drinking barium. But make everything seem so real now. I start my pre-op diet the 3rd. I figure if I make it through that everything else will be a breeze. Nov 11th is my final consult and preadmissions at the hospital. I put in for 14 day vacation at work I hope that is enough time, to feel good enough to come back. I have not told anyone at work what I’m doing; just don’t want people to know my business just yet.
  13. You could try fax mash potatoes made from cauliflower. I use to eat them when I did low carb and plan on doing them when I get to mushies. I boil the cauliflower till fork soft, drain, then put it in a food processor with sour cream or skim milk and a little I can believe it’s butter and mix. You can make them thinner for mushies with more skim milk or even water if you don’t want the carbs. sound bad but believe soooo good!
  14. My doctors office gave me a card to carry with just in case I set off a detector. Won't have my band until Nov 17th, but I fly sometimes for work so glad I'll have it just in case.
  15. My surgery is Nov 17th. Today I went for my chest x-ray and upper GI. I was wondering if the barium has made anyone else sick. I spent more of my work day in the ladies room on the toilet then I did at my desk LOL. Also how often if ever after surgery do you have to do this test. The test didn’t take long but yuck on the taste, not sure if it’s the taste or the thickness of what I had to drink.
  16.:cursing: Doctor called had to reschedule already so now I'm Nov 17th
  17. I have my official date of November 10th .I picked up some paper work for blood work and upper GI test. So now I feel excited I’m on my way!!!!
  18. I don't like the gym either. Well one when I lived in Clearwater as it was women only. Here in Orlando they don't have that so I went out and bought what I'd need treaddmill, exersise bike, and a great home gym all in one weight set. Bought two items used and one new about the same cost as a year and a hlf at 24 hour fitness.
  19. I know this is a crazy question and not sure where to ask. Has anyone used baby food for there mushies stage? I know it's weird to some but I have always like baby when my kids were babies and my grand daughter.
  20. I’ve only told immediate family (mom, husband, my kids 20 & 28). I have also told two friends from work who both have had WSL. One I’m very close with she had lap band but about the forth week had to have it removed because of an infection. She had her surgery done in Mexico. I asked her if she would do it again and she said if insurance paid. Well ours doe s now but she doesn’t want to go through all the hoops for approval. I don’t plan on telling anyone else as it’s private to me. I wouldn’t announce getting new boobs they would announce themselves:wub: as I believe WLS will do soon enough .
  21. Hello November bansters! I too will be having surgery in November. I get to pick a dated Wednesday I'm shooting for the 9TH. I was approved this past Friday and I thought I'd be more excited than I am. Maybe when it gets closer to time I will be. The two week liquid diet scares me as my will power has been little to none in the past few months and it's going to take a lot of that not to eat any food.
  22. what hoops---don't tell me that I know I have to have upper GI study, bloodwork done. I don't have to do stress test or sleep test at least that is what doc told as I have that do less then a year ago. The only thing I'm really worried about no is getting through the 14 day liquid diet.
  23. I’m so excited I was approved today:thumbup:. When I called the docs office he is out until Tuesday, so the women in the office said she’d call be back Tuesday to let me know what I had to do next and set a date. She said anytime in mid November!!!! Nothing like going from extreme high to major let down in 20 minutes:biggrin:. These next 4 days will go so slow, I guess I’m expecting to feel different when I get that date.
  24. I love all doggies VOTED!
  25. I too have Aetna. They received my paper work 9/10/10 and called my surgeons office today wanting to see a two year weight history and then they can approve. My doctor’s office said they would fax it today and hope to have approval by tomorrow morning. They won't set a surgery date until I'm approved. Which, is ok as I can't get off of work until November. I call the Aetna the day the paper work was set in just to make sure they received it. Then I think I called every day until finally they told me not to call for about a week, that it was pending. Good luck to you.
