  2. Hi Ronnie, I was banded by Dr. Felts in Sept of this year. I was suprised to read this. You see I researched all the DFW area lap band doctors for 6 months before having surgery. Not only I, but my husband who is a private investigator for the Dallas PD did as well. When I first met Dr. Felts, I instantly liked him. He was very thorough and genuinely wanted to make sure that I understood everything that was involved with this procedure. He had wonderful bedside manner and follwed up by phone personally the day of and the three days after surgery. Anytime I need anything or have any questions he is there to help immediately. I am sorry you guys had a bad expierience. Also, some doctors prefer not to touch another doctors patient because of the liability that is involved. Most doctors use this tactic. (I am an RN at a leading hospital in the metroplex, and my father is a heart surgeon here as well.) It is not unusual for a doctor to not want to touch another doctors work. It would be very easy for a patient to try and sue a new doctor for a past doctor's mistake. I am interested however, where you got your information about Dr.Felts high occurence of post-operative complications. I would really like to read about it if that is possible because while my husband and I were both researching/investigating Dr. Felts before surgery, I couldn't find any type of complaints or post operative problems. Could you please share this info? Thanks!
  3. I was suprised too when my dr told me how much was in my band before my fill. I was expecting it to be at the most 2cc's. I am happy though, because I really haven't had to fight my hunger. Hopefully I will only need a couple of more fills and I will not need any more for a while! Good luck to you!
  4. Thanks! I am also very concious about what I eat and everything else I do that might effect my band mostly in part because I was self pay and I really can't afford to mess it up! I am hoping the restriction stays, it would be a lot easier for me! Thanks for the reply! Good luck to you!
  5. Hey everyone! So I was banded Sept 2 and I got my first fill yesterday. When I had my surgery my doctor put 4cc in my 10cc band, so I have felt restriction every since my surgery. Yesterday he added one more cc and I can definitely feel it. I have lost 14 pds since my surgery date. I see that a lot of people on here take months to feel restriction, and I am wondering if it is normal that I already feel so much restriction after one month. I have read the stories on here of people going thru "bandster hell" and I keep asking myself if I am going to go thru it or if by some chance I am going to skip it..lol..which I would love! What about you all, when did you feel restriction and what size was your band? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  6. I was banded Sept 2! I have lost 23 pds so far, but I think a lot of this is due to the fact that my Dr put fluid in my band during surgery..anxious for my first fill next week! Good luck guys!
