size10again got a reaction from Dreamingof139 in Still hate my band
I totally understand that things don't always work for everyone in just about all things in life. I haven't read all the replies but I have a few questions for you:
Are you journaling what you are eating and following the guidelines from your nutritionist? If so, what does she/he recommend?
Are you exercising regularly?
Are you drinking liquids with calories?
Have you lost any weight since banding? We all lose at different rates and if you are heading down that is better than gaining which is what most of us are used to!
I eat far more variety than just chicken and green Beans. For Breakfast I had eggs, bacon and toast. For dinner I'll have a chef salad. Now lunch wasn't too great, chicken nuggets (5 small ones from Wendy's) and popcorn. I'll eat fruit for dessert tonight. I made pot roast for dinner last night. I think you can incorporate many/most foods in to your diet. It is not the free for all of our pre-banding days but can be quite enjoyable!
I wish you the best on your journey and hope you find what works for you. I'd suggest you keep trying to find a way to make peace and find success with using the band as the tool (not cure) that it is meant to be. I know you've been frustrated and hope things improve soon!

Thanks Larry! I noticed Dawn and Joyce have their weights wrong, unless they are trying to gain weight this month, lol.
I really appreciate all the hard work, time and creativity that you put into these charts each week and month! You're hired, now I just need money to pay you with!

size10again got a reaction from Stephanie Siozopoulos in Sinus Drainage After Lap Band Surgery ?
I am so interested to see your posts!
I have had crazy allergies, sinus drainage off and on since banded. In the spring it was awful, I frequently got too tight, vomited, needed deflates. Now in the fall it's been awful again. I cough all night, have been to an allergist and yes I have severe allergies to weeds and trees. Now that it has frozen where I live I am still congested, draining and coughing away. I had a steroid injection on Tuesday, Kenalog I think, it has helped minimally. My band is currently empty because it slipped. I will have surgery on Thursday to reposition it and repair a hiatal hernia that reoccured. I have been wondering why I am draining constantly! Even with my band completely empty I have restriction.

Hello Fellow Turkey Challengers. First let me apologize for being so late in getting the chart updated. Been a bus week. So the chart is up to date. You can view it view it by following this link
The November Turkey Challenge. How was everyone's weekend? I stayed home this weekend, except for Sunday, went to church and to a house concert that evening to see The Small Potatoes.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Joan,
I think you may be right, I will slow it down. Thanks for the advice!! I'll let you know how it goes. I guess I was trying to be an over-achiever...not good!

size10again got a reaction from Meduseld in Absolute frustration!
Don't worry, you're doing great! I didn't really start losing until after my fills.
Relax and try not to worry!
Are you doing mild exercise yet, like walking? Exercise can help you feel better and tone up while you lose.

size10again got a reaction from ErinMarie in I am SO thankful for my band!
I am on vacation in San Francisco this week. I have been walking up and down hills galore, even climbed the STEEP stairs up and down to the Coit tower from the road below. I feel great! Last year at this time I was 25# heavier, at The Grand Canyon, swollen right knee, fatigue, uncomfortable/embarrased about how I looked. I will turn 50 tomorrow and feel better than I have in a number of years. This is the first vacation I won't gain weight on and will probably actually lose weight!
I have enjoyed small amounts of the different foods with my husband and son. I carry a Protein Drink and bar in my packback for extra nourishment when there aren't great choices available. No sour dough bread for me, lol!
I just wanted to share my happiness...

size10again got a reaction from kylebecky in "sweet spot", how many cc's to reach yours?
Hello,
I have a 10cc band and have had one fill so far and am now at 4.5cc. I hardly have any restriction. My next fill is Feb. 4th.
How many cc's in your band did it take to reach your "sweet spot"?
Thanks, Joan

size10again got a reaction from Southern Leo in New Year, New You Challenge 2011
Hello,
I hope things are going well for everyone. Does anyone know how to do a spread sheet for us? I am lacking in computer skills. Help would be greatly apprciated! The spread sheet could include our names and weekly weigh ins for each Monday in January. Maybe it could also have our goal for the month?!
I have my first fill tomorrow! Wish me well!!

My post op instructions ENCOURAGE drinking from a straw to help with slow sipping rather than drinking too fast.
