  1. I had surgery on July16th and I am scheduled for my 1st fill on Aug 31th. (6 weeks)
  2. Congrats on your weight loss. I was banded on July 19th & had hiatal hernia repair also. I still experience gas pains in my shoulder occasionally. My Dr told me sometimes the port rubs against the diaphram and causes gas. I walk it off. That seems to be the quickest way to releive the pain. Wishing you continued success :blushing:
  3. let me add that I decided not to weigh myself at home. My Dr. told me the 1st mth to concentrate on healing and the weight will come off once I start getting the fills. That does not mean im not watching what im eating just dont want to discourage myself. Keep up the good work!
  4. Hi, I was banded on July 19th also. So glad to hear your doing so well. Im feeling good also. Just increased my walk to 3 miles yesterday and start swimming tomorrow. I seem to have my hunger under control also. Warm tea seems to curb the hunger if it starts to creep up. I get my 1st fill till Aug 31 (6 wks post-op) I take it 1 day at a time and enjoying the journey. I know I will have my challenging days especially since I have not had a fill yet but I will take it as a learning experience & not banster hell. Keep us posted on how you are doing would like to follow along with someone who has same banding date. Good luck & success to everyone recently banded.
  5. Hello Californians, Im In los Angeles Borderline South Pasadena. I was banded on July 16th by Dr David Martin in Huntington Hospital in So. 6. I was banded on July 19th. I starting feeling hungry on day 5. Went to my post-op yesterday & Dr told me I can add cream based soups. I get my 1st fill on August 31st. He told me the 1st month is all about the healing process not to concentrate to much on weight loss that will start after the fills. Hang in there and best of luck to everyone :cursing:
  7. I was banded on July 19th and went for my post-op visit yesterday. I told my Dr I was getting hungry and said I can have some cream based soups. I had some tomato basil soup (wrong choice) To acidic and gave me horrible heart burn. Scared me from trying somemore foods so know gonna take it slow. Greek yogurt was nice.
  8. I was banded on July 19th. I do not have anymore nausea and can roll from 1 side to the other with no problem but I still get occasional gas pain in my shoulder/neck area w/ occasional hiccups. My Dr told me bcuz the port can put some pressure on the Diaphragm and cause the gas. Each day does get a little easier. :cursing:
  9. Glad to hear you are doing better but taking easy on the house cleaning. I dont know what I was thinking 2 days ago but ate some sugar free pudding and I paid for it big time. I did not think I was cheating but its not allowed till week 3. I was drugged up and I learned my lesson. today is Sat July 24, 6 days post-op and feeling so much better. I am sticking to my clear liquids. Im going to my cousins wedding shower. I will be prepared with my protein drinks etc. The smell of food smells good again and it will be a challenge to watch everyone eating all around me but Im excited & focused on the journey Im on and I already feel so much better than b4 the surgery. Wishing everyone a beautiful & succesful day.
  10. I was banded on July 19th. A little sore get tired easily but day 1 was the worst for me due to the nausea(anesthesia) Not hungry at all. ice chips 1st day and 1/2 cp juice and some broth 2nd day. Had my 1st protein drink today but got me a little nauseated but just been sipping it very slowly. For those of you getting banded in nxt days the best of luck.
