  1. That's funny! Are you sure you're no pregnant Marissa? LOL I am sure it had something to do with starting my 2 week (Protein shake/water only) pre-op diet on the weekend of July 4th but I have craved grilled (burnt) hot dogs since I began the pre-op diet. I can't wait to actually have one, since I am in the pureed stage now I even considered tossing one in the blender and giving it a whirl :tt2: I have never been a one to like hot dogs, it's weird?
  2. Hello! I was just banded July 16th and I have felt similar pains. Other than the pain meds I am taken FAITHFULLY, I find a LOT of relief to lay a cold pack on my incision sites. The hospital sent me home with several for the days ahead and they really do work! Hopefully by time this reaches you, you already have some relief :tt2:
  3. I am now on Day 3 Post-Op. I thought I had lucked out and didn't have any gas pains, until 2 am this morning. I woke up with a horrible sharp pain in my chest like I had been stabbed. I got up and walked about the house for about 30 minutes, starting belching like crazy and it went away for the most part. I was only required to be on the all clear liquid diet for the day of surgery and was allowed to move onto pureed foods the second day. I am sticking to my Protein shakes for the most part though. Thankfully, I haven't felt hunger yet. I am making myself drink the shakes just to help with the nausea from the pain meds. I tried to eat a yogurt this morning and was only able to take about 5 bites before feeling full. So weird how every Dr. has different diet restrictions pre- & post-op?
  4. Hello, I am just curious to see if any others have not been required to quit smoking prior to surgery? I have noticed many that post here were required to quit and am just curious how many weren't and if you are post-op what complications (if any) did you have? My Dr. does not require quitting prior. I am not seeking advice on quitting smoking or the many health issues smoking causes so please don't take the opportunity to pounce me on how important it is for me to stop. That is an issue I hope to tackle one day but today I am struggling with my weight and my focus is on that. I however very much appreciate your concern for my health
  5. I am currently on Day 12 of my 14 day (4 Protein Shakes & water ONLY! 800 calorie) Pre-Op Diet and I may be damned to Hell for this after reading from all you faithful that were able to stick to it LOL but...... I have cheated  I had one day at a birthday party that was just bad and I have cheated no more than once a day with things I have read most were able to have (grilled chicken, sugar free pudding, sugar free jello & sugar free popsicles). However, I have managed to lose 23 lbs so I hope all will be good for surgery Friday By the way, it is my intention to tough it out till Friday from this point!
  6. I am being banded July 16th I am on Day 8 of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet and all is going swell, I have lost 22 lbs far! Is it just me or is that not crazy??? I even went and bought a new scale because I just couldn't believe it. I am just shocked after reading some of these post about the struggles with insurance approval. I was required to do 6 months of follow up dr visits and a psych evaluation to get the approval, the only issued I incurred was I couldn't have the surgery at my local hospital since it wasn't "a center of excellence" but it all worked out, my Surgeon uses another hospital, it's just 80 miles from me
