    One week post surgery

I too got sleeved Monday and had the band removed at the same time. It has been a rough week . Today was better gas wise but now I have a UTI from the catheter . Trying to force fluids and really wiped out. I keep thinking the worst is behind us.
  2. Happy 56th Birthday goldenvic!

  4. Hi, Sorry for the delay in answering. I always forget to look for these messages when I get on the forum. Yes, I would love to meet you too. I live in N. Raleigh off Strickland. What about you? It will have to be next week for me. We are leaving Thursday and won't be back till Mon afternoon late.

  5. cont...I still feel like I'm in the yellow zone. Hopefully the next fill will help get me in the green zone. :)

  6. I was banded on Aug. 31, 2011. Just 5 1/2 weeks ago. Seems like much longer :). 20 lbs down, one fill. I'm feeling really good. Struggling with what to eat and when. Same as before banding I guess. Can eat most anything, but have made sure I'm chewing, chewing, because we all know what happens if you don't. I go back on Oct 24, hopefully he'll put more fluid in. I still feel like I'm in t

  7. I'm also with Dr. Brovard.

  8. I'm in Raleigh and would love to compare struggles and victories. Banded on Aug 31.

  9. Just saw your message to me. I'm in Raleigh, would love to compare notes-struggles and victories. Banded on Aug 31. 20lbs down. 80ish to go.

  10. Coming out of the kitchen closet isn't an easy decesion. I grant you that. But being able to talk about to others helps you continue on. Some of my friends were not swayyed one way or the other. Some were "CONGRATS" and a few were shocked! Getting a mixed reaction is apart of our daily lives. Each person has a different outlook on how they view things. Its so true, skinny ppl have no clue what we are up against. They say "just put the fork down". Its much more than that. Congrats on your current weight loss. Each pound is one pound less you had before. Try not to look back on what you did in the past rather what you are doing now to change it. I too have been up and down the scale before. Feels at times I am married to it! You have made a decesion to change the way you view food. Having any kind of gastic procedure is a step in the right direction. True as well the pounds are not going to melt away. We still have to work hard on making the right food decesions... not always an easy task. Keep in touch and read the blogs. They are a great tool for you to learn new techniques and tips on how to stay on track. Wishing you much luck and thank you for writing in.
  11. Oh, Goldenvic. From what you wrote, you could be my little sister. Eat out of boredon, anxiety, no time to eat, and then eat too much. I'm excited for you. Keep me posted.

  12. Did anyone else come home with that breathing plastic gadget? I'm breathing fine it's just the gas. Husband insists that if I were using the gadget I 'd be feeling just fine.

  15. Wed is my day. I'm nervous. Have lost about 10 lbs on pre op diet. Had my knee scoped last Friday. That was an easy surgery. Pre op diet getting really old.
