  1. I was banded in Sept 2011.....scale didn't move (other than pre-liquid diet 14lbs) I had a fill in Oct, Nov, Dec, and nothing..just inches. I started a pretty good pattern of working out Oct.1 5-7 days a week of weights on some days and cardio on others. I am doing really good now with the excerise..I do P90x and insanity... very hard stuff. I too have lost inches, gained back 5 bls of that 14 from oct - Dec and FINALLY ... after my 4th fill last week, I have lost 5lbs....... I really hope this is the start of a good pattern of weight loss... Good luck to you guys....... and to me!
  2. Well.. i must really be in bandster hell... I had surgery on 9/14/2011 and I haven't lost a but the 10-12lbs I lost when I was on the clear liquid diet. I bet I have most people beat on here with excersing... I work out 5 days a week (on my lunch break). I do 3 days weights, 2 days of hard core INSANITY! (I do what I can, I have a HRM to keep track). I also jog for 1 hour on saturday and sundays at home. I have been working out since Oct 2011 and still nothing lost! I must admit, I have done measurements, and I have lost 2 inches in my waist, but no change in clothes sizes (which I have probably been squeezing in the wrong size for awhile) needless to say the clothes are fitting better... but I feel like a total failure... esp when people are always asking me HOW MUCH HAVE YOU LOST and I can only say 10lbs!!!??? I Have had 3 fills... each had 2cc in a 11cc band...... I feel restrictions.. sometimes more so in the morning... I cannot each simple things like omlet or pancake... but than by the afternoon, I can eat pretty much anything and I do fill up quickly. I just thought with all my work outs couple with the band at this point, I would be posting all these pictures of success, but it's not the case..... I am now thinking I made a huge mistake of paying for this myself without any results. Ok someone save me with their story of sucess that is similar to my path because I really do think I AM IN BANSTER HELL?????? PS. I do go for my fourth fill today.......cross fingers that I see results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I agree with Kim. I have been banded since Sept 14 and I am at a stand still. Everyone including the doctors are telling me that I have to wait for more fills. I have had two fills now, each 2cc. so I have a total of 4, but they say you don't really feel restriction until your 3 or 4th fill. If I would have set a goal for the first month, I would have lost 16lbs (due to liquid diet) but gained back 5lbs on and off in Nov. I am trying very hard not to be discourage b/c everyone is right, it's a process, not a quick fix. Good luck!

I feel your pain Jennifer! I only have one fill and I don't feel any different. I feel like I might be losing some inches, but no where I want which is my stomach. I have pretty good about working out, (on average 5 days a week with a work out group here at work, doing weights and cardio) and still I can eat a good amount and I am not losing any weight. I sometimes regret telling others about the surgery because everytime I talk to someone or see someone, they are like, "how much have you lost" and than I look like an ******* saying.. well "nothing yet, I am still getting my fills" I am sure they are all thinking....wow..... she spent so much money and isn't getting results. . I question and feel that way too sometimes! I am trying to stay postive and all the post are helpful. I get my 2nd fill on 11/22, I am praying I will have restriction before thanksgiving!

Thank you for the post.... I am almost 12 weeks post op and I am starting to gain back my liquid diet weight lose of a whopping 16lbs..... so now I am only down 8 pre sx. I really really needed to hear this...thank you!
  6. I really need some words of encouragement right now. It's been 8 wks since my banding, I have only had 1 fill, 4-5cc I believe and (1 wk ago was my fill) and I have only lost weight from when I did the clear liquid diet. I am getting really discourgaged and thinking, did I just waste all this money? I am I going to be that person who only loses 14lbs? I don't feel any different as far as eating. I think I am eating less.......... but it's not reflecting on the scale. I have been working out for 4 wks now..... good hard, sweaty work outs.... and still I at a road block!!!! Can anyone tell me when they started to lose? I was told by the doctor it may take up to three fills before the restriction is noticable, but my office will only do them 1 a month. I see others who get fills 1 a wk. Any comments on that? I really like my medical team and doctor so do believe they are waiting it out for a reason, but I am getting a little anxious!
  7. I am scheduled to be banded on Sept 7th... I CANNOT WAIT! My pre-op testing is Aug 31st.... and my liquids begin~! We are taking a short vacation during that following weekend, so I was hoping the distration of not being at home would help with the liquids~! Any suggestions for what everyone is going to use or drink for thier diet? I would love to keep in touch and see progress of those who were banded around the same time!~ My BMI is 33% . I have 85lbs to lose!!!!! I hope by summer I will feel like pretty again! GOOD LUCK ALL!
