This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!
Further to that, what I don't get is the "I told you so" attitude when some one's choice of WLS (outside of the glorious DS *tongue in cheek*) doesn't work out for them for whatever reason. There are GOOD reasons why different WLS don't work for particular people. Why make some one feel worse that they probably already do because of a mechanical error or physical complication that stops that particular WLS from being a success for that person? Its just plain mean and nasty. We're all starting from the same point aren't we??

Yeah they do. I'd swap mine for any of the female athletes bodies any day. Well, except for the weight lifters, shot-putters and some of the swimmers who are on steroids. I'd still want to look sporty-feminine.

Can I get that in writing??

When I went into my bosses office for a meeting this morning he had the beach volleyball on the TV he has mounted on the wall. He cried innocent when I told him he was just watching it for those teeny tiny bikini things they wear.....who plays sport in a bikini/crop top type thing anyway?? REALLY?? (yes, I'm jealous of their sports fit bodies, I'll put that out there straight up)

Oooh tri's might be good! If you know when they're on here Chickie can you keep me posted? I'm not much of a team spectator sport fan at all, which is probably VERY un-Australian of me

Thanks for all the congrats guys I hate how quickly the weekends are going lately. Boo to fast weekends. BBK - *hugs* I've managed to avoid watching any of the olympics so far....only 453 million days to go. I do like the gymnastics though, I'll watch that if I can catch it.

Different Australian States Lapband
There was a Melbourne one for a while, but people from other states ended up on there too (like me haha) because there weren't enough people to keep it really active. It was really great for a while - I met some one I now consider a good friend in real life on that thread. To be honest, things went a bit sour a while back and there were a few trolls/horrible people who left a bad taste in some of the older Aussie bandsters mouths - we tried to start the Australian bandsters thread to combat that, but it only made things worse. Hence why some of the regular posters from early in those 2 threads are no longer around, they didn't want to stick around for the bulls**t.

thanks She!
Excellent Jacqui, I'm glad you are dealing with this before it turns into a problem. My injury has turned into the biggest demotivator I could have ever experienced as far as running goes. I wish I still had that passion I had in the summer months cranking out 40 or 50 kms a week without a second thought. What distance are you hoping to do in the Melb marathon? I registered for a 10km today that I WILL do on in the first couple of weeks in Sept, and I WILL do it in a faster time than last year (77min).

thanks She!
Oh Jacqui!!! Please please learn from my mistake! ITB syndrome is what I have been recovering from for months now because I didn't get it seen too that first time I had that knee pain you have right now. It got to the point that I couldn't walk without pain! Like you I was gradually increasing my training for a half at the time and stupidly ran several 9 -14kms over a couple of weeks through the pain and that was the end of the half for me. Google for some strengthening exercises to do and take it REALLY easy (5km or less a run) until your inner thighs are MUCH stronger or, better yet, get thee to a physio for some treatment ASAP. I've found that dry needling (acupuncture) has really helped releive the pressure points in my ITBs and I'm finally feeling like I'm recovering. I may just get to run a 10km next month after the months of recovery you mentioned dreading. And yeah 800km is a long way for one pair of runners!! Sucks that they are so expensive!! My latest running news is that I am getting some orthodics for my running shoes which should nip the ITB problems I've been having in the bud once and for all. The exercises I've been doing have done their job and the orthodics should prevent a reinjury. Fingers crossed!!

Salsa's Summer Surgery!
Karri you look simply amazing! It must feel fantastic having a body that matches all the hard work you've put in. I'm so happy for you that your results have been so amazing! Even without the revision, I think you look wonderful. I'm (more than) slightly jealous!

Interesting article on why running burns more calories than walking
Also I can highly recommend picking up a nike sportband to help calculate your calories burned. I just started using mine and it takes all the hard work out of it.

Interesting article on why running burns more calories than walking
Thanks for sharing Jacqui. I know personally that this is right for me. If I walked the same distance that I run, I know I wouldn't be as fit as I am even though I would be active for a longer period of time. Running rocks.

Any Aussies gone down the PS route?
I saw a plastic surgeon earlier this year. I didn't end up getting anything done because my health fund (NIB) and medicare would only cover $900 (from memory??) of the $20k I was quoted for a lower body lift. The whole story is in my blog (link below) in the February archives. I didn't have any rashes or a medical "need" for it, so thats why I couldn't get it covered. I'm pretty sure Chickie had most of the cost of her tummy tuck covered.
-
thanks She!
Gah, I understand your frustration Chickie. I'm restricted to 2 x 6kms a week and a bike workout by my physio. I don't have access to a bike though.... Hopefully your physio can work wonders before its been months of treatment like I've had for my knees The joys of being a runner hey???

thanks She!
Ahhhh well now we really are going to get our asses kicked lol
