  1. One word - YAY!
  2. I'm the opposite of Jacqui, I carried most of my weight in my tummy and torso and still carry most of the last 20 pounds I want to lose there. Do I NEED plastic surgery? No. I had a PS consult early this year and the cost ($20,000 Australian for a lower body lift) just wasn't worth it, it was purely cosmetic and vanity driven for me. I don't wear tight figure hugging clothes because I have a few lumps and bumps, but I don't know that I would if I was smooth anyway. I don't have loose skin as such, but I could use a little tightening all over to be perfect (but then, who is perfect??). I guess the best way to put it is that while some weight loss leaves a person looking like a fully deflated balloon, I'd probably be at about only 10-15% deflated. I got out of this as one of the lucky ones I think. Weight gain/loss take different tolls on our bodies and each journey is SO unique, it would be SO hard to even fathom a guess at what some body's body will look like after a massive loss.
  3. Wow thats an interesting first date  Sorry that you have to have it again though Mac  I'm just home from work. Working 2 jobs sucks. I want my weekends back. No "me" time turns me into a whiney bitchy bitch. Well, more so that usual.

Its my weekend to have a rant or 2.....so heres number 2. I have a neighbour who lives 2 houses away who insists on playing reeeeeeeeeeeeeally bad hard rock music (in my opinion) at night ridiculously loud any time I seem to have to be up early the next day. We can hear it loud and clear in our lounge room, so even if I didn't need to go to bed early to be up for work tomorrow, its still much to loud for us to endure. I go knock on his door, 2nd time in a month, to ask him to turn it down. He says "God, you again?" I tell him yes, me, and ask him politely to turn it down. He says its early (its 9:40pm). I say so what its still MUCH too loud -we can hear it over our TV inside our house. The windows on his house are vibrating its that loud! He continues to argue with me. I tell him its up to him, he turns it down or I go back home and call the cops. He says he'll turn it down and it won't happen again. I say thank you and leave. Maybe I'm getting old and am a pain in the ass neightbour spoiling everyone's fun, but wheres the respect? I don't want to a bitch and maybe I'm oversensitive to outside noise.....maybe. But this just makes me think "seriously, if you want to listen to music that loud, just go out to any nightclub, idiot!" Gah! I'm going to bed now. 'night!
  5. Who told you that Boo? On top of you feeling fine, you look great! Tell them to pi$$ off I say!

I saw a man repeatedly kick a dog (on a leash, and for no apparent reason) in the CBD of my city tonight. The only thing stopping my husband and I from approaching him to try to stop him was the fact that he was HUGE and he would have beat us both too. We both (independently and discussed after) gave him a death stare as we walked past. It made me feel sick to my stomach for that poor dog. It makes me incredibly sad to think about it even now hours later....
  7. Its thursday morning where I am. I love living in the future. Weekend here I come.
  8. My Chicagoan husband is ALWAYS having a go at me about not pronouncing my Rs. He also thinks the way I say garage is hilarious. Its the Australian way though!
  9. BBK, they are useless morons! When I read your post I was like "OH MY GOD they didn't even!?!" (out loud!). They better bloody believe its "on them" so should the next visit be. IDIOTS! *HUGS YOU VERY TIGHTLY COS YOU MUST BE REALLY MAD*
  10. Actually, Foofy and I's posts above were referring to the Aussie slang use of "dead horse" where its used in place of tomato sauce (which is ketchup here is Australia). Thats where the rhyming thing came in. I think we're on different tracks here with our 2 uses of the phrase. Foofy and I were totally off topic and you were talking about this specific thread.....am I right?
  11. How bloody fab! Australia got the gold in the women's tri! Woot! Did you see it Chickie? I saw most of the swim and a couple of laps of the bikes and she was 5th or 6th then, she must have whooped some butt in the run and had a great transition from bike to run? Now I'm off to try to figure out what this powder room bizzness is....
  12. Well both my parents are banded. Dad was morbidly obese and Mum was obese before banding. Both are now just slightly overweight and have good pretty good success with their bands. They are both approaching 60 years old. My sister has up and downed between maybe 130 and 160 pounds her whole life, but has never been "fat". My brother was a chubby teenager and grew out of that to be a 6 foot 3 blonde male supermodel type (like seriously girls in the street fall over to catch a second glance at him). He works really hard at the gym and eats incredibly healthily all the time (think stuff like a hard boiled egg or tuna, brown rice and some veggies for dinner every night without fail) to maintain his rock hard yet fit and slim body. None of the extended family are fat. In fact my mother's sister used to be taunted that she was anorexic growing up cos she was so thin. So yeah, my family is a bit of a mish mash of fat, "normal" weight and thin.
  13. *prays to the incision gods for only one teeny tiny one on BBK's beautiful flat tummy* Good luck!
  14. I'm pretty sure its just a rhyming thing with the dead horse.....like "dog and bone" = phone, and "frog and toad" = road (as in "lets hit the frog and toad"). Its a true blue (usually more rural than city) Aussie that uses slang like that in everyday conversation though.
  15. I read about the race in the paper and was impressed, and just now happened to turn the TV on as repeat of the 100m was starting.....wow!! Now I'm REALLY impressed. But now the water polo is on. Boring.
  16. I've gotta say I'm very impressed with the 9.69 second 100 metre men's win. Thats damn fast. Freak.
  17. All I have to add is that you can learn to speak like us Aussies here Australian Slang Dictionary with unique Aussie phrases and Australian Slang words. There'll be a pop quiz in a weeks time lol.
  18. And I think its a proven fact that malnourishment affects people's brains too.....just saying.
  19. For me its there, their and they're......arghh! It can't be THAT hard can it?
  20. Eeeep! That must have been really scary! LJM, please listen to Dr Boo Boo. We all want your little bean to arrive healthy and perfect
  21. The weather so nice here today for August! I think winter is on its way out.....*holds breath*
  22. Oh man BBK. *HUGS* I'm posting to say I am catching the bus to work today. Its going to take an hour and a half for a 20 minute normal trip. The things I do for my friends (I have a big farewell for a friend this afternoon and suspect I won't be in any state to drive afterwards). Oh and its hard to dress cute when its effing freezing cold.

Yeah go figure huh? This dude is actually rebuilding an old train carriage in real life so I guess he just really likes them. But his complete lack of even trying to be covert with the aimless internet surfing pisses the rest of us of when we're busting our butts to get everything done. Worst thing of all is I am leaving that place and he is taking over my job in 3 weeks (argh my poor staff!). He's going to die when he actually has to work 9 or 10 hours a day for his $90k a year. Ass.

Hmmm my current rant? People who say they'll call/do something/get back to you etc etc at a particular specific time, and don't. For days. And people at work who bitch and whinge about something but then when they are given the opportunity to make the situation better (with actually very little effort), they say that its "useless, pointless, a waste of time and that they have better things to do with their time". Like spend hours a day on facebook and googling pictures of trains???? GAH!!! That is all.
  25. HAHA Jacqui did you just see me running down the street? LOL
