  1. I have Hypothyroid and PCOS as well. I was banded on June 28, 2010. I have lost 52 lb. since the surgery and feel great. I reached "onederland" the other day and almost started to cry. I have dropped 4 sizes. I do work out 5-6 days/week which has definitely helped with the steady weight loss. The only think I regret about getting my band is not doing it sooner. I have about 50lbs. to go before reaching my goal. I then hope to start working on the baby thing again. Good luck to you. It's a decision that will change and ultimately save your life!
  2. Thanks everybody for the advice. Hopefully this second fill will give me a lot more restriction. I've been in bandster hell for about a month now. I also meant to ask how long the procedure usually takes. I have to go to work afterwards and would like to give them a good guesstimate as to what time I should be back to work. Thanks again for the advice. I feel a lot better about it now. I think I will insist on my fills being done by floro from now on.
  3. Hello All! I started the c25K program last week at the request of my personal trainer! I'm on W2D1. Doing good. I sweat like crazy but feel like I'm actually getting a good workout. Good luck everybody. It's good to find a thread related to this. We can keep each other motivated!
  4. Hello All. I was banded on June 28 without any complication. I have lost 28 pounds since surgery. I had my first fill last month, and even though my doc had a little trouble finding the port, she finally did and was able to give me a fill. I went on Wednesday for my second fill. So after being stuck like 8 times with the needle without success, we are now going to have to do the fill under floroscopy. I know some of you have had this done and was just wondering what the procedure is like. My doc thinks my port is tilted ever so slightly and that is why she is having trouble accessing it. I hope I don't need a port revision this early, but I guess that will be determined after my floroscopy fill next week. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. I had terrible itching over my incisions too. I ended up with an allergic reaction to either the steri-strips or the glue they put on my skin to keep the steri-strips in place. I ended up taking them off and had hives on all my incisions. I used Cortisone cream (with my doc's premission) which helped the itching. It took about a week for the hives to go away completely, but they eventually did. Hope you feel better.
  6. I'm scheduled for Monday, June 28th too! I can't believe it is finally here. I was supposed to have it done in March, but developed Appenditis and had to have my appendix removed emergently. My surgeon made me wait 3 MONTHS, which seemed like an eternity! I've been doing the liquid diet for 5 days now and have lost 11 pounds! I'm just ready to start this journey of weight loss. Good luck to all my fellow bandsters on Monday! This is the start of a new life for all of us!
  7. Hello all! I am getting banded this Monday as well. I'm both nervous and excited. This pre op diet is killing me though. I know it's to help shrink my liver, but gosh i'm hungry. I've lost 11 pounds in 4 days! I just can't wait for this lifestyle change. I should have done this years ago!
