My surgery was ok. No gas pain or nausea for me--I got lucky I think. A lot of pain in the port incision still, though. Really swollen as well. Tomorrow is my follow up with my doctor, so we'll see how he thinks I am doing. I hope you are feeling better soon!! Healing is taking a long time.

I think it's normal to have all those thoughts--I have had them! But we'll all get through this doubting period and be big "losers" together! Haha!

Don't get me wrong, the shakes get old regardless! But I have found that I really like the EAS AdvantEDGE vanilla flavor.

I am drinking the EAS Advant-Edge shakes. Pack of 4 for around $4 at Target or Wal-mart. Vanilla is my favorite flavor, but chocolate is pretty good too. They are really tasty! And filling, which is good when you have to do the liquid diet for 2 weeks!!

I am feeling that same thing! Rumbly in the bottom part of my stomach, but not from hunger. I think that might be normal, though, from what I have read. I'm jus trying to drink as much as possible. It's hard because I am trying to take everything very slow. Maybe too slow, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Hi! I didn't have any other attachments on me when I woke up. Just the nasal oxygen thing and IV. When they injected the meds into the IV, they took effect within a few seconds. That was great! You will be fine--I wasn't too scared until I was being wheeled into the OR, but that was "too late" to back out. Haha! I'm a little more swollen today than yesterday, but icepacks help with that and the Vicadin takes the edge off the pain (which isn't horribly bad to begin with.) Stay in touch! Good luck!!

You're not a baby, btw! I think it would be unnatural to not be scared or worried about the surgery. ANY surgery can have complications, but the good thing is that you already know and can trust your surgeon!

Thanks for the add! I'd love to hear how you're doing since the procedure. As it gets closer, I'm a bit nervous. But I know it's going to be worth it!

I've been on the diet since the day after Memorial Day. (Had to get in one last BBQ! Ha!) My doc has me on 3 full liquids (Carnation Instant Breakfast, Low Carb Slim Fast, etc.) and unlimited clear liquids. I'm taking those gummy vitamins and chewable calcium too, so when I want to chomp on something, that's what I do. All my pre-op stuff was last week. Wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'm just ready to get this surgery over with!
