  1. thanks everyone!!! im really happy with what I have accomplished. And no signs of the weight slowing down, its melting off like crazy. I'm focused and will never be discouraged because every loss no matter what is a gain :smile2: thanks again guys for your support
  2. Today has been 74 days since my Lap Band surgery and I have lost 70 pounds as of today!!! Im so excited, I had to share my good news  Here's to losing more and making it 100 pound weight loss plus more!!!!! Goodluck all of you on your journies  Starting weight 345 Today 275
  3. Lisa thats GREAT! Adam did my surgery but I know Arthur as well, they are fantastic! Actually I met Adam years ago when he took out my appendix. When I heard he specialized now in weight loss surgery I was so excited! So, that's how it all started! Dont worry if the scale isn't budging. It will! The same thing happened to me. You have to remember you still don't have restriction yet either, so you just have to be really careful as far as making healthy food choices  All of the hard work will pay off, trust me! I still have so much more to go but I'm SO happy with the 66 pounds I have lost. Goodluck on your first fill! I'm sure you will do just fine! It is really great that they have all the equipment on site so you dont have to go back and forth to the hospitals for things that can be done right there in their office! I havent gone to a support group yet, no, but I do planning on attending one! We should go on the same day. Let me know :tongue2: And again goodluck on your first fill!!!! Kelly
  4. I wasn't sure what restriction was. I wasn't sure how I was supposed to feel. So the heartburn, etc...was from being too restricted. So, lesson learned!!!
  5. So, this week was my second fill appt since being banded on July 15th. I have a 14cc band and had 4ccs put in my band on 8/24/10. I thought everything was fine and actually was ready for my next fill because I felt like I didnt have much restriction. I was having heart burn, but always had heartburn so I didnt pay any attention to it. So I go in on thursday of this week which was 9/9/10. I explained to the N.P. that I was working out all the time and making good food choices but was still not getting full and was ready for more fill! She then weighed me and I only lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks, which is fine, I will take a loss any day but for the amount I have been working out it should have been more loss then the 2. So we talk about my heartburn and before I know it she has me doing a barium swallow xray. The xray was taken and low and behold I'M POOLING!!!!!!! In actuality my band was TOO TIGHT not too loose!!!! I could see the barium all pool around my band. I was like oh no!! So...she removed all 4ccs of my band and I currently have NOTHING in there once again. It sucks, I hate this feeling. I have to wait a week and a half before going back again to get a fill to give my band sometime for the swelling to go down. Heartburn is gone which is a good thing but I want some restriction. But, I understand this is for the better that we found out this bump in the road now but it's a pain! She also recommended that next time I go we put in 2ccs instead of 4ccs and start slowly filling me. I would rather be safe, but still it's disappointing. But, im still making good food choices and working out daily. Im not going to let this little bump get me down!!!!! Just wanted to share!!!! Has anyone else experienced this?! Would love to hear your story/stories!!!! Kelly oh and side note, since being banded 7/15/10 I have lost a total of 66 pounds :tongue2:
  6. All of my friends call me a zumba maniac!!! I tried one class and I was hooked! I go at least three times a week and do the gym the other 4 days! I LOVE ZUMBA! I swear by it and have danced my whole life and was looking for a type of dance that adults could do! I LOVE, LOVE LOVE IT! I HIGHLY recommend!
  7. I went from a shoe size 8 to a 6.5! I was banded 7/15/10!
  8. I had staples on all of my incisions and had them out 2 weeks post op and was fine!!!! My scars actually look great!
  9. Today has been the BEST DAY EVER!! I officially now weigh UNDER 300 lbs at 298!!!! I was banded on July 15th and have lost 29 pounds since my preop visit!!!!! I couldnt wait for my first goal which was to make it under 300! And today I accomplished that goal!!!! Now on to the next goal of ONEderland!!!!! Super excited today, makes all this hard work worth it
  10. Today is one week since my band was placed!!! I didnt have any bruising at all where my incisions were I was just swollen. The swelling has finally all gone away by today actually! Gas has gone away also. Im starting to feel hungry for the first time and am keepin on with my liquids for now! Today was the first day I can say ive felt my port, I cant really explain the feeling I just feel something is there when I sit and get up. It's still sore but nothing crazy. I'm down 16 pounds! Goodluck to everyone that is getting banded the rest of this month you will do just fine!!!!
  11. Today is now post op day 6! First day I have felt A LOT better and have actually been HUNGRY! Gas is going away. As far as burping goes, I havent had any at all. Are you drinking something carbonated and that's why you are burping?! Port incision site is sore but other then that all else is doing well! Took off one of my bandages today to get a peak. It was the hernia repair site and the incision looks great, I have three staples in there. I am going to see my doc on the 29th for staple removal! I am also on the liquids for 2 weeks. I must say I am used to them now because I was on liquids for a full 14 days pre op as well. But again like I said today was the first day I've felt hungry. Ive lost about 15 pounds and am starting to feel really good
