I have about 20 lbs left to go and my surgeon didn't mention any second about doing my TT prior to goal. I am looking forward to being rid of the flab

New to lap band surgery
I was actually banded twice in 36 hours because of a slip immediately. I took the liquid mess they sent home a time or 2, but was mostly pain free with Tylenol, ice packs and a pillow. I also had a 20 lb weight limit for a month. But my husband was there to help with kids- my youngest was 13 months when I was banded

New to all this
First congratulations on getting banded, it was the best decision I ever made. Advice?? Hmmm, bring lose clothes to wear home, Popsicles are your friend for liquid diets, powerade zero is good!! Have pillows and ice for your tummy when you get home.

Still waiting here- and VERY FRUSTRATED with the doctor's office staff. Hopefully soon >:-( Jerzee so sorry you're having such issues

Why am I still defeding myself?
When I was banded last year people said things like,"well your not THAT FAT," and the like, my insurance company and I both disagreed with that assessment. I have lost about 85 lbs since I was banded and people tell me I look great, but when they do I still feel the need to point out my problem areas (hanging belly & bat wing arms). I think it helps me justify something. By the same token I am so proud of what I have done. It wasn't super hard either. I think by pointing out the work I still have left it helps me justify how easy the first 80 lbs came off You have done wonderfully- Celebrate your new YOU

Does the lap band really work????
Claire I was banded over a year ago and my best advice would be to ready your MIND for weight loss as well as your bod.

Scared about vomiting
:-( sorry about your situation. I can tell you that puking from food is not all that bad - it's not a true vomit feel. I haven't the foggiest about a sick vomit or medicine vomit. I hope all goes well for you and you don't get sick

How do you get your daily protein in?
GNC sells a protein powder that is 60g of protein per shake

How happy are you with your body as you are losing weight?
I have lost almost 90 lbs and while I am happier with my new size 10/12 frame, I am NOT all that happy with my hanging belly area. I am actually headed for my TT in august. I (like others) am more self-conscious now for some reason, but Spanx help. I love being able to get new clothes. I just wish I could wear a tight shirt with pride.

Are your fills done under Fluoroscopy, or Standard way?
Standard- just me, the doc, a needle and a cup of water

failed fill attemp
Flipped manually?? Ouch!! I am nervous about moving my port w/ my TT this summer, but manual port flipping sounds painful

my daughter took a dive on my stomach
My 2 (or maybe my 4) yr old dud that to me a few weeks back - hurt like hell, but no damage
-
So let's talk about our lap band surgeons for a second...
IMO you surgeon sounds like an absolute TOOL. My one experience with an overfill (my fault for not speaking up), my surgeon saw me the next morning and apologized to ME. He was also apologetic after my band placement when it slipped and he had to redo it the next day. I think a surgeon should be personable and easy to deal with. I like mine so much I am leaving the current office this week when he does

scrambled eggs
They are something I can actually eat, but many other foods that I hear others can eat I can't If I had to guess it would be the chewing- u may not chew as well since they are soft- or it's just one of those things. Seems that bands can be temperamental and we all have various things we can/can't eat.

How many incision sites did you have?
5. Started with a single in my belly button- immediate slip and needed second that was 5 incisions - only 1 still visible is right by my port
