DISGUSTED!! Waste of time!
Nipper, I am sorry u are having trouble. Are you restricted and are u watching your protein/hydration/portions? I find if I do not have protein and water- and lots of it- I just don't lose. I know counting calories is a pain, but it does help to put things in perspective

I absolutely LOVE my PS!!!
I know my lapband surgeon was able to get my TT easily approved as "medically necessary" due to hanging flesh and rashiness. I wish u the best

Unfill
Not having the TT done by a ps my lapband surgeon does it. I am going to call the office tmrw though. And if they will do it I am getting a fill when I get back from vaca Thank you for ur help

Tummy Tuck Scheduled
I am excited for u too. I am looking forward to my TT and I am not horribly anxious about the pain. I am looking forward to hearing how you are doing and progressing.

Unfill
Does anyone know if I will need to be unfilled before my TT and port move? I am not scheduled until the end of July and I want to get filled the week after next, but it almost seems wasteful if I will have to be unglued before

How much do you worry about the complications?
Do you worry about this? How do you put it I have Heard the same from people, but I tell them that I could get struck by lightning or run over by a run away bus too I don't live terrified of "what if's". If I were I prob wouldn't have been banded. So yes- anything CAN happen- but IMO the end result (a happier me) is worth it

Sweating
When I started losing last year I swear I was sweating like I never have before - even started using my husband's deodorant. Now that summer is back so is my sweat- I think it's pretty normal. I know if it's a problem a dermatologist can give botchilism injections in underarms to stave off the sweating

anybody have a slip fixed by surgery?
I would think they will replace/repair quickly. Can't believe they are having you wait. I can't inagine it would be a comfortable few days waiting to see the doc On another note I know when I am stuck (which I am right now) if I take a sip of liquids I will definitely expel the stuck item (French fry). But alas I am not home so I am just sitting here waiting to see if it passes

Tummy Tuck Scheduled
How exciting Jerzee How come so many compression devices for TT and Lipo? Did you have full body done? I am only about a month away from my TT now and I am growing more and more excited to be rid of the excess skin that I now think looks like a set of freakin udders on my midsection - although not looking forward to the pain

If a slip happens nothing goes through your band, not even saliva (in my case(

Can anyone help me?
My weight loss crawled to a near stop in Feb and I also asked for advice/help here. The best advice I got was to up my protein & water intake. I recently bought a new protein drink that has 60g per serving and my weight is again dropping

anybody have a slip fixed by surgery?
My band slipped IMMEDIATELY after it was placed, so I had a second surgery the next night. I still really have nothing bad to say. It happened and once it was fixed I felt fantastic and aside from 1 overfill I haven't looked back

Negativity Stinks
I guess I was lucky all the way around, my surgeon and the support staff in the office didn't sugar coat things at all. I also did a lot of research on my own, so my eyes were wide open. It is not good if people are being misinformed -

SAD!
I think I would go ahead with the banding, just continue to be aware abs watchful of it after Good luck to u

Negativity Stinks
You are right it's pretty negative on my part, but that stems from listening to people whine. I understand that not everyone is ready, but if u are already banded AND still eating large amounts of junk don't blame the band, blame yourself I have posted positive things, but have been avoiding the forum to avoid the negativity. I was banded a year ago and have lost 85 lbs. It was relatively easy for me. I cut my calories and cut out most junk from my diet. I still don't exercise enough- but I blame no one but myself (not my bad back, not the nerve damage in my leg or my missing L4/L4 disc). Do I wish everyone could love their band as I love mine- yup, sure do. But I also wish people would stop thinking their band is a magic wand that makes the pounds melt off and see it as the to it is. Is their magic to weight loss, no not magic but common sense and calorie counting help

Negativity Stinks
Maybe it's just me, but there seems to be an excess of negativity on this forum lately. Personally I come in here for the support and commradarie that is offered, but if I was no banded yet I would be scared after reading the whining and complaining. People say they didn't know about bring stuck or sliming or puking- well if u looked into it at all u would know People complaining they aren't losing weight, but they are also not counting calories or watching what they eat AT ALL. even before you have a fill u have the ability to watch what u are eating and not gorge yourself. If u hate ur band - FINE - but accept blame if u aren't working with ur band and don't blame everyone else

Does the lap band really work????
While I am not doubting there are some bona fide medical issues that can come to light because of the band I think if u are not losing weight then it's because you are NOT using the tool to it's fullest potential. If we didn't have good issues we wouldn't need the band in the first place. You HAVE to have willpower even with the band. You have to work with the band to lose weight

Does the lap band really work????
. He asked this becuase he had adjusted my band so many times, he could NOT and refused to admit that the band had failed me NOT that I had failed the band. Anyway, I am an EXTREMELY non confrontational person but after going to see him a few times and him blaming me, I did not go back. I had NOT been drinking shakes and eating mashed potatoes. I had been eating like I would have normally eaten but I felt EXACTLY as I did BEFORE the surgery. I am still doing horribly. I have NO will power over food. It's awful. I am not a person who will eat if I am full but I just don't seem to feel full unless I eat a considerable amount more than a normal meal. I just WISHED there was something out there that could help me to feel full I hope this helps. I am sorry but I think the surgery is the BIGGEST waste of money that you can throw away. I do have a question for you - if you have no willpower then how did the band fail you, and not you fail the band? Please know I am not trying to be churlish - I just know that the band is a tool and that if you continue to eat however you want then it won't work.

Does the lap band really work????
I have never heard of scarring i the pouch?? How would scarring within the pouch happen? But I do think that some people are not well informed before their banding. I did tons of research even as I was going through my doctor appts. I know there can be issues and some of them are medical. I would think though that if someone hates their band that much having it removed would be the smartest move. It is a reversable situation. I am not trying to be critical - just thinking outloud. I know that if I HATED my band I would have it removed, even if I had to save - and while I was saving I would have all the liquid removed
