About Me

  • Gender
    Female
It took me over 3 years of researching (and a few more unsuccessful diets) before I finally selected my doctor and self-paid for the band. I was originally approved for a bypass but was just so scared of surgery and of the irreversability of it. I finally made my decision this year (2012) and I really shouldn't have put this off for so long. I now eat like a normal person for probably the first time in my life!

I am married, have grown children, and work full time. Commuting to work takes a lot of my time, and has contributed to my weight gain. Although I have been a perpetual dieter since the age of about 14 and it just got harder every year. Gaining and losing the same 50 pounds every year (and never reaching goal) was also taking it's toll on my health and self-esteem.

So far what I love the most about my band is "feeling full." I honestly don't recall ever feeling that way on a regular basis during my adult life. I had plenty of times I was "stuffed" after a huge, huge meal, but never full or satisfied like say after 1 sandwich. Now I know that feeling and I am so happy with that!

Thank you for reading and I am looking forward to reading and sharing lots of success with all of you.
