  1. I was hungry when I woke up from surgery... I cant say that the band has helped with my feelings of hunger but it has helped me not eat so much and has reduced the amount I eat over all.
  2. I eat when I'm hungry...that varies day to day...some days I eat 3 times a day sometimes I eat 6...
  3. I had a unfill back in Dec 1.5cc...I felt so much better after it, but now I can eat a lot, so I may need another slight fill...i'll see how i feel in Feb... Glad you feel better.
  4. I take: multivitamin chewable Vitamin D Mega red Krill oil.
  5. I am 6 mos post op and still have trouble with egg/egg beaters..sounds like you may have a little stuck episode or your stomach is irritated and may be swollen a little..it should go away soon.
  6. That sucks...I dont smoke now but used to years ago...and my skin is getting loose...I hope i wont need another surgery to fix it if it is terrible looking.
  7. I have gotten so sick of getting stuck and vomiting and the only thing I can say the reason is is that I'm eating too big of bites and eating too fast. So my solution....Baby utensils... Walked into my local Wal-Mart went to the baby isle and found these cute little baby spoon, fork, and knife set... I have been using them so far through out my dinner and not one stuck episode.. Yay Me!
  8. Try going back to basics...Liquid diet for 2-3 days mushies 2-3 days then regular food...write down everything your eating to see what your calorie intake is to see if you need to increase or decrease. Increase exercise Drink more water...and make sure you take your vitamins.
  9. I had a pretty bad stuck episode today and I ended up throwing up violently and now my left chest hurts... Has that happen to anyone else? Could it just be pain from swelling? I feel ok I can keep food and Water down so I dont think any damage was done to the band. I was just wondering if the pain could be from swelling or maybe I pulled a muscle?
  10. I have one it's just a regular one that I have added to my weight loss charm bracelet...It says basically: Lap Band No NG tube No NSAIDS It's simple but gets to the point
  11. That's called being a "Pescatarian"...Definition: Occasionally used to describe those who abstain from eating all meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish. Although the word is not commonly used and a pescatarian is not technically a vegetarian, more and more people are adopting this kind of diet, usually for health reasons or as a stepping stone to a fully vegetarian diet. Sorry I have a friend who does this and I had to do more research on it....
  12. I have used them and I felt no ill effects from them...I also have a little soda every now and then and don't feel anything...it's up to you on how you will feel..
  13. Yeah I told my husband the other day I think I'm gonna have to start lifting weights....
  14. saw previews but haven't watched it yet....I think I will. when does it come on again?
  15. I love the fact that now that I have started to walk I'm losing weight but i just noticed that my arms are floppy with skin just dangling... What have some of you done to help minimize the lose floppy skin?
  16. Thats wonderful...I cant wait till I can go back to VS!!!
  17. About 7 mos ago before I was banded I bought about $100 worth of bras from Lane Bryant....Now that I have been banded for about 6 mos none of them fit! That is a wonderful NSV but really expensive too boot....
  18. My doctor didnt give me a choice on which band I got... He determined it by the size of my stomach and my weight... when I was researching bands I just did a google search and got really good info off of that.
  19. I hate all blenders so I use a Blender cup that I got from GNC...It has a wire ball inside that blends my protein drinks up very well...
  20. I can take my medication with out problems they are not the large fish oil sized kind but are good sized capsules and or pills. When I was first banded I had to crush them or open them but now that I am 6 mos out I am fine and can take them normally as long as I take them at night when I know my band is not as tight as in the morning.
  21. I have to take larger sized capsules for depression and I handle them ok.. I just take them at night when I know I am not as tight as I am in the morning...
  22. Don't know the rate of deaths but I have had my band for 6 mos now and I'm still alive and kickin....
  23. ElfiePoo- Great Info thanks so much for that It has given me a new prospective on my band and the way I eat...It sounds as if I am swollen from throwing up every day and I have to buck up and do liquids and soft foods for 1-2 days to get rid of the swelling no matter what. CheckYes- Careful as in not chewing well or taking too big of bites/eating too fast. Thanks to everyone for all the great responses! Zen
  24. I was experiencing low energy in the afternoons as well...I started reading "Change your Brain, Change your Body" By Dr. Amen and have found that I am what I eat... If I eat junk for lunch I feel junky later...If I eat good stuff at lunch I feel good later. I have also started taking "Mega Red Krill Oil" the fish oil capsules are just to big to swallow, and making sure I get my Multivitamin in as well every day. I make sure I drink water/crystal light all through out the day, and I have felt a big difference in just 1 week. Good Luck!
  25. Ok here goes I need some advise from some of the older bandsters out there. I wouldn't have what you would call my sweet spot because I can eat a lot more then I should and get hungry 1-2 hours after a meal. But every day I will get stuck at least once maybe twice if I'm not careful and will have slime and vomiting. If I'm not at a good restriction level what could be causing this? Am I not chewing well? Taking to big of bites? Could someone please help me try to understand what's going on...I also get the hiccups like crazy after a stuck episode. Is this normal?
