  1. Those first 2 weeks are the hardest...but keep your eye on the prize and remember why you got the band in the first place... I remember when i was 2 weeks out I was crying and wondering why I did this to myself...but now I am so happy that I decided to get my band... It is still a battle to eat right and stay on the path but it gets easier every day. I will be doing a 5 day pouch test starting tomorrow and that is basically starting all over again with liquids, them soft mushies, then food. I hope to rid my body of the carb demon and jump start my weight loss... Good luck to you...You can do this...
  2. Yeah it doesnt sound right....Go to your Doc ASAP dont take no for an answer you dont want your port to get infected and get to your band....
  3. go to this link: http://www.5daypouchtest.com/index.html it should help you out...
  4. Got this off the web site... How often should I do the 5 Day Pouch Test? The 5 Day Pouch Test should be done if you are feeling out of control with your eating, if you have fallen into a slider-carb eating pattern, if you are at a weight loss plateau or have gained weight. It can also be done simply for cleansing and appreciating our weight loss surgery tool. Many patients have successfully done the five day pouch test and followed the five days by repeating Days 4 and 5 over and over. Other patients have elected to include extra days of liquids in their plan. It is perfectly OK to adjust the plan to your specific needs. Patients who do not desire the liquid phase have reported success by doing 3 days of Day 3 followed by Days 4 and 5.
  5. Gonna start tomorrow any suggestions on liquid diets...havent done one in a while dont wanna get bored with it....
  6. As I get ready for the 5 day pouch test tomorrow I find that I am in need of good liquid diet suggestions...besides Soup what else should I eat for the liquid portion of my plan? I got lots of Protein drinks, soup what else...it seems that i havent done a liquid diet in so long I cant remember...

  8. I like to use spaghetti sauce with it or lettuce or steamed cabbage...tastes yummy and I dont miss the pasta...
  9. I cant eat any meat other then fish or seafood...So I eat fish that I buy at Costco that is already pre-seasoned like talapia or salmon..or I will google a lot of recipes or go on You Tube to find really good one's.
  10. Walking and my Gazelle trainer..... I walk about 45 min a day and use the Gazelle for 30min on the days I dont walk...
  11. I was reading that you should do it when you hit a platue (?) and it can be done after every fill I read as well...
  12. If this is your first fill and you have a 10 or 14cc band unfortunatly you probably wont feel anything...but dont get dissapointed you will feel restriction soon just keep eating well and measure your portions. Good Luck
  13. I'm actually gonna try this out! I have been stuck yo-yoing the past 1-2lbs for weeks now I hope this really works!
  14. I couldn't eat only 3 times per day...even at this fill level I get hungry after 3 hrs.I cant fathom going 4-5 hours between meals It doesnt seem normal to me. I do snack between meals but it will be a healthy snack like fruit, veggies or a Protein shake. As far as drinking I drink up until I eat then stop drinking for 30min after my meal...It's not so much so that if wont flush the food out of the pouch but so that you dont get stuck...
  15. My weight does the same thing after a fill...rapid loss then it tapers down then nothing then maybe 1 or 2 a week...it's been a while since my last unfill in Dec and I think i need another fill next month is possible we'll see...
  16. Congrats on your weight loss...I was thinking of going to the gym but I cant even commit to walking my neighborhood everyday so I dont want to waste the money... Hope you can keep with it and lose that other 50lbs
  17. I wish I could find a support group here in San Diego that will accept anyone regardless if they were banded their doctor or not...I was banded in Mexico and have yet to find a support group here.
  18. I was like that until my 2nd fill I have the small 4cc band and I dont need too many fills...after 2nd fill i got too tight and had to have an unfill now I'm better can eat well but will get stuck on certain kinds of food if I'm not careful...
  19. They need to fix a lot of stuff...I still cant post these little pictures cute dog with shoes....
  20. Dont know why eggs dont go down well they just get stuck for me...I dont weigh even though I should...I just eat till I feel satisfied... not all "soft" food is good like bread is soft but it gets stuck, mashed potatoes are soft but they get stuck as well...
  21. sounds soo good the soup...I'm gonna have to try that!
  22. I put a dress on that I bought 5 mos ago and it was a little tight then now it was falling off of me....It felt good!
  23. You can find clear Protein drinks...GNC sells them they dont taste really great but they are clear.
  24. So it's been what 5 months now and I am down 25lbs that i wouldnt have been able to lose with out the band! It's slow going, wish I would lose faster but am grateful for whatever I can lose at this point. I had a unfill back in Dec but I think I may need a slight fill next month when I get some money to pay for it...I notice that I am eating a lot but I get stuck often so I dont know if a fill is a wise thing to do right now. Well that's all I have to report Good Job August Rushers....
  25. I love my little Gerber fork it helps me not eat so fast and take smaller bites that way it dont get stuck...
