  1. Glad you got the faxes! You are going to be sick of the drinks by the time you are able to go onto mush food LOL you will think it is the best meal ever! LOL Of course you will drop a lot of weight due to the liquid then mush and healing from the surgery makes you not have hunger pains but you will crave food no matter what even with the lap band. Which means we still have to fix our mindset with junk food! Good luck and keep me up to date on your progress! Oh for me I got the fill but still need another because I still don't feel the restriction to prevent me from over eating. Maybe my next one will hit the sweet spot! TTYL

  2. Hey Tommy did you get the fax I sent? Hope it helps! Good luck!

  3. Carol: Trying to reach you but get no response. Are you okay?

  4. Why did you delete the picture of you in with the Easter bunny? I loved that pic! Put my pic of me dressed up for Halloween to keep the theme going.

  5. Tommy, I faxed over the papers I had for the lap band. Sorry it took me so long to remember to bring them to work. Hope they help you to start your journey to a healthier you! Hugs

  6. Honey Brown: Your day is almost here! You are going to do great! Let us know how you do when you can! Good luck

  7. Wishing the best on your journey to a new healthier you!

  8. Hi Princess, How was your first fill? You okay?

  9. Had my first fill today. It wasn't all that bad, just a pinch. 4cc's and on liquid for two days now.

I have trouble wanting to drink with my meal but my hubby is always there to remind me of what I can't or shouldn't do.. LOL Over ate eating out and the pain was terrible. Never will do that again...chew chew chew slowly and prevent the pain. Let me know how you are doing! Good luck

  10. Taterbugsmom: How you doing?

  11. I will fax you over the info tomorrow when I am back at work. Sorry it took so long to get back on here and get the fax number.

  12. Hi Tommy, Yes, today was my first fill and it didn't hurt at all. Was so easy, just held my breath and pushed my stomach out. They put 4 ccs in and now I am on liquid for two days. Total of 20 lbs lost in 4 weeks. Have been walking 3 to 5 miles a day for at least 3 times a week after work in the evenings which is great because it's cooler then. The puppy likes the walk too and everyone that sees her comes over to chat. Really love to socialize.

Will not be long before you are losing that weight and getting fit. How are you doing with the eating plan?

  13. It was so easy to get the fill. All I did was lay on the table, hold my breath and push out my stomach. The doctor's assistant held onto the port after cleaning it and then there was a tiny pinch and then she filled the band. Some air came out because it was the first time filling it. She put in 4cc's and the band holds up to 14cc's. Have to drink fluid for two days then regular from there. Total of 20lbs lost in a month and have another appointment with the doctor in 4 weeks.

Seen the nutritionist after the fill and she said I should continue eating protein first and then healthy carbs like veggies and fruit.

Been walking the canal five miles with my girlfriend and three miles with my hubby.

Making changes and feeling better every day!

Hope everyone is doing well and getting into shape.

  14. Sorry to hear about your hunger issues. Maybe you need more protein?

  15. We had our surgery on the same day! That is awesome to have someone on this journey right at the same time!

Hope your lap band does everything you hoped and more!

I have felt restriction and when I forget to not drink with my meal I feel pain in my left side under my rib cage. How about you any trouble eating?

  16. They said we could have broth isn't that just yummy!

Remember no caffeine! No soda! nothing that has yeast or expands in your stomach.

No drinking with your meals. It's not going to be easy but it's helps reduce the liver so the surgeon can see better!

If you want, I can fax you over the info or mail it to you!

send me a private email if you want me to do that for you!

As for me, I lost 20 lbs and it hasn't been a month until Aug 7th. Having my first fill on Aug 10 so everything is going well!

    Thank you

  17. Have you thought about drinking the protein drinks twice a day to prepare yourself for the band? My surgeon suggested I do that and you will lose weight doing it too.

  18. Remember it's not about the weight loss it's about changes for a better healthier life. Focus on that and the rest will happen.

Good luck with your fill, let me know how much and how you are doing with it.

  19. Yea, I am having the fill on Aug 10 which isn't even 6 weeks but I am happy because I am need to feel full and haven't yet. Funny thing is I am not hungry either.

We need to be patient though and focus on eating healthy in small amounts and get our exercise in too. It's not just about the weight loss it's about making changes that will last to improve our lives.

    Good luck

  20. Every thing is awesome! Gone down a size and I haven't even had my fill yet! Wild and wonderful

  21. Glad you decided to stay on the team! August is just around the corner pal! You will be banded in no time!

    Good luck

  22. Doing well, even in a smaller size jeans now! YIPPEE!

    How are you doing?

  23. I still think it isn't right that they would deny you the option to get healthy! What heartless jerks run big business!

You can still be a part of the July band club pal! You can read up on our progress and learn what is going on before it is your turn!

    Being Reborn

I see getting the lap band as being reborn....my rebirth is July 15th 2010. Right now I am trying to figure things out and do what the nutritionist and surgeon asked but it's not easy to get rid of bad habits! Should be eating right now and exercising but my fat mindset thinks "why not wait since the change is coming soon enough why start now?" I know that is fat thinking but it's is something I am struggling with right now. Want to be honest here....I didn't get this big because I was lazy....I got this big because I love food....so giving it up before surgery is very hard....IF I could have done it without the surgery, then I wouldn't be getting the lap band! Okay that said, when I do eat...I feel so stupid...another day I could have changed my bad habits and been closer to goal...but that is how things have been playing out for 20 years now.... Praying to GOD that the lap band will help me start a new way of living! I am going to behave and be committed to the lap band way of life but for now it just is a struggle! It's a tool and it's my last hope to correct myself and get back to being healthy and in better shape! I know I will never be that person I was at 24 but any shape that is below 200 will be awesome for me!
  25. Weird how we all react to the surgery different. I was off the meds the following day after going home. Hated the taste anyway and the pain was managable. Still have the burping but not as bad. My surgery was July 7th. My doctor made me stay on the liquid for two weeks then soft food for two weeks then chunk food for two weeks. Going to have my fill on August 10 then back to fluid but just to make certain the band isn't too tight then to soft ect....

Hope the first fill is the perfect fill so I don't have to do it again. Have not restrictions right now but not hungry which is weird.

Don't want to get on the scale any more because I want to focus on changing my perception of food and weight loss this time around. Will only weigh in when I see the doctor.

    Good luck with your journey!
