  1. Had my surgery on July 7th 2010 and I felt great as soon as I woke up. The pain wasn't bad and I was able to walk around and drink water without issue. After the last upper GI to make certain everything went well I was able to have protein shakes and broth. Didn't have issues and now I am home resting in between runs to the bathroom. LOLJuly 20th I have my first post op appointment and then I can schedule my first fill. Looking forward to the fill. How was your surgery experience?
  2. My doctor said 4 shakes and one meal for two weeks until surgery. Seven more days to go! Keep it going...well worth it my thinning friend!
  3. I know someone that lost all his weight but still will not wear shorts because his legs are saggy and his belly is saggy as well as his arms. It isn't fair that the insurance companies don't pay to have it ALL removed. It's not vanity it's mental health! We are trying to get healthy and having that extra skin isn't healthy for the body to have to drag around and it certainly isn't good for mental well being! I have been told that your mind can make the body sick so if our minds are not healthy then our bodies will still not be completely healthy! Need new laws for a healthier country! Eating healthy is expensive and losing weight and not having the complete results is not healthy! Wish we could all get together and make the people in power really change things for the people that are giving it their all to be healthy and a productive part of society! Just my opinion!
  4. Sounds like Exercise, lotion and massage is the best thing to get rid of it! Thanks for the information!
  5. My surgery was moved to July 7th! Closer then ever now! How is everyone doing?
  6. July 15th for my surgery....excited and ready....surgeon wants me to start my exercise routine and I am drinking the Protein drinks now to lose weight before the surgery just because I am not going to wait to start losing! Good luck to everyone!:tongue2:
  7. I am so close to the Rotary in Middleboro...there is a Dunkin Donuts right there if you want to meet! I couldn't do end of month for my surgery...they wanted to give me July 1st but I work in Finance so I told them it had to be mid month. YOU are so lucky! Getting it done sooner is better! Can't wait to meet you!
  8. I know several people that had the bypass and after two years they gained it all back and then some...the little pouch streatched and now they can't do anything but control their eating....why bother doing it if you don't fix what got you there in the first place! It's not a cure all and it doesn't last if you don't fix your eating disorder! I am still Pre OP but I am still glad I am having the band!
  9. Does the surgeon suggest it or did you find out about it and ask for it? My surgeon hasn't mentioned that as yet....I don't have my surgery until July 15th. It sounds like a great idea though! Thank you for the post! :w00t:
  10. I didn't realize bands would have different total limits that it can be filled; Did your surgeon ask you what size band fill you wanted? I was under the impression that there was only one size band....
  11. I am curious to see what fill level is best for you to lose weight and not feel hungry? Are you there yet or do you have to continue to go for adjustments? How many adjustments have you had since your first?
  12. I haven't had my surgery yet...it is on July 15th.; so glad you did post this because I want to know about the bad as well as good things that have happened! Not goingo to stop now that I am so close and I really need this tool even if that did happen to me at least it will give me the chance at learning good habits and getting rid of my bad habits which I wasn't able to do because I am always hungry or think I am.... Sorry about your situation though...please let me know how thing are going with you! Thanks, Lisa
  13. sore back yes got that...of course I thought it was because I had big tatas LOL July 15th can't come soon enough! I want this so bad but I still have to do what the surgeon said....get into a regular routine of exercise no matter what the might be.....walking, dancing, swimming, biking, weights, going to the gym....taking aerobic classes...anything that makes me sweat is exercise and burns calories! WE can and will do what we have to do to make it work....no sense in going through the surgery if I thought it wouldn't work for me. All I need is hunger control...the rest I can deal with! Wishing you all the best of luck! Hugs, Lisa
  14. Wow we could go together to the support group....see this makes it so much more interesting and enjoyable to share this with you rather then do it alone! You made my day!
  15. I live in Rochester MA...I work in Middleboro! Would love to meet up! Now that is exciting! Yippee
  16. I thought the same thing but after so many years of trying to find something that worked for my life and not succeeding I decided it was time to try a tool that would stop me from feeling hungry....my thought is IF I know my stomach is small then what I am feeling isn't hunger it's either that I need Water which is the same feeling as being hungry or my mind is messing with me....I call my mind messing with me or food craving the food devil....With this tool (lap band) I am hoping to recreate a new mindset that will help me succeed this time to goal and beyond! Most I ever lost on any diet was 20 lbs and then I would gain it all back...tired of it but I hope you do succeed and change your lifestyle! Anyone that can do it without the tool and surgery is all the better for it! Good luck and God bless!
  17. Is there anyone that lives near or on Cape Cod MA that is being or has been banded? I am having my surgery on July 15th and would love to have someone close by to walk with and do other fun exercise with....just a thought! Have my fingers crossed .... would love to have a buddy that is going through the same thing near to me! Lisa
  18. Yes, July 15th..Can't wait...there is another person that is July 7th....You are both ahead of me so I will get to see you both lose as I wait for my surgery....very exciting in deed!
  19. YES July 15th...your ahead of me so I will get to see you shrink before I do.....It's all good! EXCITED to be a part of your journey! Lisa
  20. I am looking foreward to making the change to a healthier lifestyle permanent so I can get to goal and stay there for the rest of my life....Being healthy is what matters and having the energy to enjoy life to the fullest. PLUS I turn 50 next year and I want to look awesome when I do! Can't blame a women for wanting to be in the best shape for that number! LOL
  21. Congrats; I know how you feel....I just got my surgery date and it just can't come soon enough! WoooHOOOO

I see getting the lap band as being reborn....my rebirth is July 15th 2010. Right now I am trying to figure things out and do what the nutritionist and surgeon asked but it's not easy to get rid of bad habits! Should be eating right now and exercising but my fat mindset thinks "why not wait since the change is coming soon enough why start now?" I know that is fat thinking but it's is something I am struggling with right now. Want to be honest here....I didn't get this big because I was lazy....I got this big because I love food....so giving it up before surgery is very hard....IF I could have done it without the surgery, then I wouldn't be getting the lap band! Okay that said, when I do eat...I feel so stupid...another day I could have changed my bad habits and been closer to goal...but that is how things have been playing out for 20 years now.... Praying to GOD that the lap band will help me start a new way of living! I am going to behave and be committed to the lap band way of life but for now it just is a struggle! It's a tool and it's my last hope to correct myself and get back to being healthy and in better shape! I know I will never be that person I was at 24 but any shape that is below 200 will be awesome for me!
  23. Looking forward to getting to know you and getting to goal together! Best of luck with your progress! My surgery date is July 15th...wish it was sooner but it's a lot closer and time does fly!
  24. Thank you for the welcome....Where did you get you ticker? I have been looking but have not found it yet....
