  2. YES YOU WILL DO GREAT JUST REMEMBER WALK, WALK, WALK AND TAKE EVERYTHING SLOWELY, I WAS JUST BANDED THIS MORNING, AND TO BE TOTALLY HONEST IM NOT IN NEARLY AS MUCH PAIN AS I THOUGHT I WOULD BE..... CONGRATS ON TAKING THAT STEP TO BECOME HEALTHIER
  3. well surgery is over and feeling really good, been doing my walking Just a little bit of gas pains but not really pains just more pressure than anything...Not really hurting at all, its hard to believe that I actually have it . Full liquids for today but thats ok actually not hungry at all

  5. Well The day is officially here I am just over 2 hours from the beginning of my new life. I really thought if any day today would be my day to be nervous, but amazingly I'm not, yet anyways, I will post when I can after my surgery, and let you all know how it went. I have an overnight stay at the hospital to do a barium swallow the next morning...wish me luck I am off to the shower and get ready
  6. Congrats Scott, you are well on your way to a new you
  7. Good Luck I also have an over night stay after my surgery on August 1st but it is for me to do a barium swallow Let us know how your doing
  8. Glad to see other August Banders posting on here, I am starting my second week of a 1200 cal diet for my pre op, gonna do a week of nothing but my shakes and see if I cant drop a little more. I am being banded August 1st could have had it done last week but opted to start out at the beginning of the month, as I have a wedding and reception to go the 30th of July. This past week has been a wave of emotions, but surprisingly I have yet to get nervous probably the day I go in I will be a bundle of nerves
  9. In fact in 2 weeks and 1 day...lol yes I am on a count down I will go in for my surgery to begin my new life WHOO - HOO, though I am not actually having the Lap-Band I have opted for the Realize band, as my surgeon says he has had less problems with this one. I start my pre op diet Monday, and was told I need to lose at least 15 lbs...I can do this...I can do this..I am going to do this
  10. My surgery is the first of August also, The nerves haven't kicked in , just totally excited, I looked into this for a full year before I committed. Now I am ready to start my new life, I know this is a ways down the line but I cant wait till I can shop in the normal stores for clothing instead of "specialty stores"...I have my eyes on the prize, but that is just my way of thinking of this. Everyone goes thru a wave of emotions when it comes to change, we as humans don't like change
  11. Got my surgery date... August 1st... so excited have been waiting for this, and the wait was pure torture
  12. I don't have a date as of yet , I go back to surgeon on the 7th of July, and will get my date then...doing the happy dance :Dancing_wub:
  13. Finally Approved after fighting with Insurance Company for over a year. I am so excited to begin my life anew, really feels like a brand new birthday for me
  14. Well I just got the notification that I will have to have one and I will have to be totally honest, Ive already told my Dr that if I am required to have one that it dont mean that I will use it. I just cant stand to have anything blowing in my face or up my nose, I hate that feeling that I am suffocating, and cannot catch my breath, I cant even have a fan blowing in my face, it throws me right into a panic attack, so if I am required to have one so be it but it will probably never be used
  15. Has anyone had a sleep study done and find out they have apnea, and required to have a cpap machine but not actually use it, I had my sleep study last week and it drove me crazy to wear that , I felt like I was suffocating to have it force air into me, so I was thinking if it has a timer or something on it to make sure it was on whats to stop anyone from just turning it on and letting it run but not wearing it?
  16. I also have BCBS(IL), as far as I know they have no policy as far as that but each policy is different for each place, your best bet would be to wait till you get it and then call them up and ask, I very much doubt they would have a Pre-existing condition clause as far as Bariatric, but again the best thing to do is to ask them when you are enrolled, they are the best judge of things in reguards to your particular policy, Good Luck
  17. Yeah I know what you mean I am in the same boat with the funding of what my ins doesnt cover but from what I hear that is all sorted out after it all, If not we will see I am just in that state of mind I have to do something as this has gotten way out of control, Good Luck with yours also!!!!
  18. Hi Everyone I just joined and have my first Apt to see my dr about getting the lap band done, I have been researching this for about 2 years now and have finally taken that step to finding out if I can have the procedure done, , even after all my research I find this is still an unnerving process
