    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

Hi all. How is everyone doing...all Mayster should have been done by now. How is everyone progressing? Me, last update I hadn't lost anything. Todays weigh in down 2.2 lbs. since last week. Not too bad was hoping for a bigger loss but I'm ok with it. At least its coming off. Having difficulty food wise. Always hungry always grazing. I definately know my food intake limit though, too much and I get pain. So I eat often but little bits at time. I am in a sweet tooth mode though...New it would happen I just try to keep everyone in the house from buying the bad food...hehehe....usually sugar free chocolate jello does the trick. However, the hunger all the time is driving me mad. Well I guess I'll check back again at next weigh in.... Let me know you all are fairing..:tongue2:

    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

Thanks Sandee.... I know in my head I'm not suppose to worry about the weight loss business until my healing weeks are over...but being a yoyo dieter all my life..you sometimes can't help it. I knew all this would occur but listening to other banders they were like, " I lost 18lbs I lost 24lbs, was kind of hoping I'd be one of the banders for a 20lb lost in the first two weeks then take it down a few notches and loses a few a week.. I know this is the better option for me and it will come in time (which is why I chose the band) I wanted healthy not instant. LOL...but I will definetly get pissy once I start the fills and it doesn't come off. hehehehe...thanks for the input. I'll be checking in again in a few days. good luck to all banders and pre-banders

    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

Hi all... Well I'm two weeks post op. Feeling much better. very slight pain in my port area. Having difficulty with food though. but on yogurts, jello and eggs since Saturday. Stopped losing about 4 days only down 6 pounds since surgery so I'm feeling kind of pissy about it. This is exactly why I got the LB to being with because of the extreme difficulty in losing. I am hardly eating anything at all. I'm active but I'm still at a stand still soo soon. My energy is find too. Not sure why I'm not losing its weird considering my calorie intact is maybe 600 a day. No carbs..soooo????? I'm ALWAYS hungry. but can't eat. Always seems like I have something stuck in my throat. I'm drinking water, shakes and protien drinks, some eggs, and pudding. soooo...UGGG. As for work... I decided to take some time off, but definately glad I didnt have to go back in the first week. Dont think I could have made it. I new this was not an instant fix to weight loss, but thought I'd be losing a little more quickly than I am. I'll keep you posted.

    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

I hear all of what you both are saying. Man the smell of pizza yesterday Zwas soooo hmmmm...LOL but I too have the food police living in my house. I actually chased my daughter down for a french frie. I just wanted a bite. LOL But I did chew it until it disolved in my mouth, oh yeah I also sucked on a MCD french frie LOL... just one. LOL I get my first fill on June 25th and I can't wait. I too want that "sweet spot" Zumba looks like fun but cant find any classes around here. I have some pilates and yoga videos and want to start them but I'm afraid of the strentching...so I have one of those dumbbells that shake (shakerwieght) I use that for the upper body, arms chest. You can feel that thing in seconds, highly recommend. Anyway, still scared to eat too much NEW foods so I'm sticking to the basics for now. I heard through this website that a lot banders wish they took the beginning stages a little more seriously because the weight loss does taper off. So my advise, stick to your nutrionists words more so than your talking stomaches...hehehe (mine was really loud yesterday)...eventually we'll all be able to eat what we want in smaller amounts and still lose but we might as well take full advantage of these early weeks of liquids to shake off a good portion of it. Good Luck

    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

Hi All...well its 9 days post op...Was a little ruff in the beginning with the gas pain and such..However, now I'm at the mushys. I actually get to have eggs OR an egg today (1/2 of egg?) At least thats what my nutrionist advised. Starting to feel hungry as the swelling has gone down. I still have some port pain... it was actually more of an ache yesterday. Finally driving myself around which is a little uncomfortable with the seat belt and having to turn the body to look certain ways. But all in all, not too bad. Getting ready to start my walking around the block, I still get tired easily but I think its because I'm having issues with the protien drinks. Has anyone else noticed that all we can drink or eat for the first two weeks is really sweet!? ugg... Jello, ice pops, pudding, Isopure, now shakes. For someone who doesn't like too much sweetness sure has to have a lot of it. Anywho...getting concerned that now that my tummy growls I might revert to the old food machine..(HAHAHAA) But since I'm afraid to eat for fear of throwing up I think I might be alright. How about your sense of smell????? Doesn't EVERYTHING smell good? Sheesh drives me insane. Also, to everyone, make sure you check your scale batteries if you have one like that. I was jumping for joy the other day, said I was down 11 lbs since surgery turned out my battery was going...replaced it and to my immense disappointment I was only down 7 lbs, but hey thats a pound a day. Also, one last note, I had my first alcoholic drink (with my docs approval) said be very careful, ya know, one addiction for another, and you can get trashed quick cuz your not eating. So I bought Mango slushy mix added ice and a little vodka and bam! I was good. Only had 2 in like 4 hours (very filling) but I made sure I ate my jello, shake and Soup prior to having one. Be responsible. Good luck and I'll check in again with another update in a few days.
  6. good thanks. Actually getting ready to post my update. Thank you for asking. Doing well...minor port pain and getting hungry. LOL

    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

Hi all... Was banded yesterday. Feeling sore today and haven't felt hungry at all. Basically I'm making myself have the broth and jello. Water is my best friends as I woke up after surgery and was thirsty like crazy. Been trying to quench that thirst since then. Gas pains are the worst, but the pain meds keep that a minimum but still very uncomfortable. Not sleeping well, of course, but it feels much better moving around thank laying around. Tires you out quickly though. Sitting at the dining room table, this is where I'll feel the best, for now. Feeling the incisions today but I believe its because I have some lingering gas in abdominal area. Hoping that disapates by tomorrow. On clear liquids til Tuesday, then full liquids for a week, then mush. Not in any hurry to eat because I'm afraid I'll get sick. As for what I feeling before surgery, excited, not scared at all. More worried about going through all this and it not working. The nurse told me to think possitive and follow the doctors orders to a T, do not deviate. So, thats my plan. I'll keep you posted on the daily progress. Good luck to the upcoming bandster and the newbies.

    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

Hey all...tomorrow is banding day for me. Can't wait. Not looking forward to the gas pain...I remember that pain well from a small procedure I had done about 10 years ago. Good luck to all the other bandsters who are currently waiting for their day.

    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

Getting a little nervous more for the reason that it wont work after going through all of the prep. Afraid its going to be like any other weight loss venture I've tried in the last 20+ years. I have no pre-op diet to follow with the exception of all clear liquid the day before surgery. I kind of did the same thing some others here in the forum have done. Went a little crazy these past 2 weeks thinking I might as well get it in while I can, because after Wednesday, my I'm all in. LOL... Isopure for me for the next 12 weeks at least. I have my daughters senior graduation coming up June 15th, so I'm hoping to lose a decent amount for when the family all fly in on the 19th for the party. My fingers are crossed I have a safe journey on Wednesday and I hope that all this will lead to smaller me!:frown:

How long were you out of work?

I am scheduled for my banding on May 19th. I also will be out two weeks ish. My philosophy is why would I want to go to work while still moving slowing, feeling sluggish and having to adjust to having only liquids. I work in an office and do a little lifting but lots of running from floor to floor (8 in all). I would rather feel comfortable upon returning to work than feeling like crud. But I honestly cannot wait until my surgery. I have been thinking about this for two years and finally took the plunge last November and saw the surgeon. Six months later with only two weeks til surgery.
