  1. really? do you like them? I am going to research it and see.. :sad0: thanks!
  2. Where do you get these? I would sell on ebay but once you open one of those GIANT tubs -- I feel like people would not think it is hygenic. You know? So, right now my kids are using them as stools. :sad0:
  3. The only problem with that is if I don't like it.. I have 17 of them sitting in my house.
  4. OK. so I went to the nutritionist last week -- and besides having lost 29 pds since surgery on June 29th he was upset about my lack of Protein shakes. To be honest, I have purchased muscle milk, Iso-Pure, Monster Milk, powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, pure protein, pure whey protein stack and a bunch of others and they all taste like medicine! I hate them, hate them, hate them. Now, did I mention that I hate them? I don't mind eating a Protein Bar every now and again but my NUT said they have saturated fat which is bad for your arteries. So, I don't know what to do. I do try to have a protein at every meal. I eat lots of cheese, yogurt, Beans.. BUT, even prior to surgery I never really ate much protein (I wasn't a vegetarian) but I also didn't have a protein daily and my BLOOD COUNT was always great. The only thing I was ever deficient on was Vitamin D. My Calcium was great (even with lack of milk and yogurt in my diet) and I never took a vitamin to save my life. I am just frustrated!!
  5. Congrats! I can't wait to be saying the same thing!!
  6. That has happened to me once or twice. My nutritionist said that I must have over done it... AND that to remember that 4 oz is the most we could eat -- so, to try to eat less than that... It is just so hard to gauge what 4 oz is when you are out to eat. Sometimes I over due it and sometimes I don't eat enough and am hungry earlier... How do you all gauge when going out?
  7. You look awesome! What an inspiration!!:001_tongue:
  8. I am only a month out and I have to be honest... prior to surgery I was hell bent on having a boob job and a tummy tuck (here we call it a mommy lift).. Now, having had surgery to remove my gall bladder and WLS surgery, I am not sure if I want the stress of another surgery. I am my worst enemy when it comes to worrying. When I went into surgery, I left goodbye letters to my kids and a laundry list of things to do/not do for my husband. Isn't that terrible? But, writing those letters is so emotional and it is such a roller coaster of emotions prior to surgery. I don't worry about the pain -- I have had two C-Sections in the past and did really well. BUT, somehow the anguish of the potential of complications or something going really wrong worries me to no end. So, I guess it all depends on whether I am really miserable looking at myself once I have lost all the weight.. I live in the SUNSHINE STATE so, going to the beach is a part of life.. So, I guess at this point only time will tell.
  9. It's incredible how all dr's are different. I am allowed fruits and vegetables after a month. I asked him the reason to not having them sooner (I like to know the why behind the what) anyhow, he said that many veggies are fibrous and we don't want to risk getting an ulceration if something gets stuck. But he told me that after a month, I can eat anything as long as I am sticking to the 4 oz, Protein first, and eating every 3 hours. So, ask your dr. or NUT as their guidelines may be completely different than any of ours.
  10. I was concerned about this.. but as it turns out my dr. says he didn't do a drain for sleeve patients only for the RNY.. so, I am not sure...
  11. Awesome! I just ordered it! Let's see how it goes! :scared0:
  12. I was thinking about purchasing this cookbook. Is it worth it?
  13. I know.. But sometimes they taste better when made somewhere else... I am just curious if anyone has had any from there and if so which ones?
  14. Has anyone tried their protein shakes? I went today to see if I can break out from the routine of my protein shake at home. I have one right next to my house... Any one had any?
  15. I had the same probably with chewables... AND well, I am 30 days out and the dr gave me the green light to try a swallowed multi vitamin. I just bought one a day woman's --- i think that is what they are called and so far so good. I bought a liquid form of B12 which is only every 3 days and the calcium is by Citracal in pill form... So, I am really exited about taking them rather than chewables! Hate those!! :svengo:
  16. I am about a month out and I have tried all kinds of things to go to the bathroom that have fiber.. So, yesterday I had my 4 week follow up and the dr told me I could continue to take what I took prior to surgery without a problem. It is called prunelax. I usually take them in the evening and the next day go without a problem. I had one yesterday after he gave me the "green" light and sure enough -- this morning I went!!
  17. I am so glad that you posted this... I sometimes question myself as to why i did this. I am only a month post op -- I can't believe a month has passed and sometimes I find myself envious of watching others eat. My post op diet was great as I was able to eat almost anything.. And now I eat everything, but food doesn't taste as good to me as it used to. Does this make sense? For example, we went to South Beach for my birthday to a TAPAS restaurant. We ordered appetizers and I thought I would be in heaven and it wasn't the same. Does that make sense? I used to crave things prior to surgery and LOVED eating. But, it is like that love affair is over. I am not hungry (EVER) -- I eat because it is routine. Every 3 hours, go to kitchen, grab 4 oz of something (make sure it is mostly protein) and repeat. I know I should be incredibly grateful as this is providing me with an opportunity to be healthier but something in me has changed -- and not just my stomach.. My love affair with food...
  18. Hi.. I know that.. But, it is a mental thing.. Knowing that you are eating less than 1/2 of what you were before and exercising -- you would think that one would lose more. That's all. I am quite aware that it is a tool and not a magic pill however, I guess we all hope that it will be quicker than what it is. So, yes it takes time but at least for me, I am always afraid that I will be that ONE that it doesn't work for even doing the right thing.
  19. I feel that way every day.. I feel like I am working out every day -- 30 minutes on the treadmill at 3.5 and 20 minutes on the elliptical. Why isn't my weight just coming off? I was sleeved on June 29th and I have lost 21 pounds. So, this makes 3 weeks for me. I guess I should feel grateful -- whenever I dieted before I could only lose 3 pounds a month. But, I guess like my husband says -- I expected to leave the hospital and have lost all the weight!! lol I am just incredibly impatient and like instant gratification!!
  20. How do you all get 64 oz of liquids during the day. I am pretty good about keep a bottle next tome a refilling it BUT at most I can get is two 16oz water bottles a day -- which is only 1/2 of what is recommended. I am not sure how to increase that. Even prior to surgery, I never drank that much water!!
  21. Which one a day gummies are you taking? I have a gag reflex to almost anything that my body doesn't like
  22. Anything chewable usually makes me gag. The NUT just recommended Celebrate Vitamins that has a type of Vitamin that dissolves in Water and it is alike crystal light... I can't imagine he is right though... I told him it was easy for him to say because he can swallow them. SO, he said if that doesn't work we are going to find a regular vitamin for me to swallow that isn't too big. :crying:
  23. Yup! They are chewable. They should arrive this week. Brand New. Will not even open the box -- will just slap on another label and send out. :frown1:
  24. Hi everyone!! I am wondering if anyone takes these and is interested in B12, Calcium or the Multivitamin. I ordered them and they didn't sit well with me. Today I got an email that they sent out a refill order and I didn't realize I set that up. I can't take them but they won't take them back. So, I am set to receive them this week. Anyone interested in them? PM me:)
  25. I am taking very small bites and chewing them very carefully... Not sure... But, I certainly won't be trying that again for a while. I find that the most soothing items are fruit, yogurt, cheese, and Protein drinks. Anything else feels dense and not that nice feeling... It is incredible how much this changes you -- physically and even psychologically. I used to see pizza and had to have one -- now I see one and I ponder, is it going to make me feel bad?
