Sleeveorbust's Story!
Jackie that is so wonderful that you are going to be able to fullfill a dream of yours. Your story sounds so typical I think of many of us. It is wonderful that you are doing this at such a young age and you are going to be able to do wonderful things because of the weight loss. I mean for some of us it is just about health, others it is about finding ourselves again or being a size that we never even remember being. But I just love that you are going to use it for your career and to give back to our country! I always wanted to be a marine but got caught up in life and so instead I dated a few too many marines LOL. But in all seriousness congrats and thank you for sharing that, I always like to hear how people made it here and what their personal reasons for the surgery are. Best wishes.

Nervous- Am I making right decision?
oHHHH YES I am sure plenty of us did that. I know the only reason I did not do it at the hospital was because I was so far from home and was trying to be strong. I was feeling it though. I also knew that my mom who was with me would have been sympathetic but she would have pointed out that I needed to stick by my decision as it was too late to cry over spilled milk. I had to take some ativan (anti anxiety meds) to help me relax while in the hospital I wasn't in real pain so I didn't want pain meds so the ativan took the edge off and i was able to rest and relax a bit. You will heal you will enjoy your food again and things will turn around rather swiftly. Just try to remain as calm as possible and know you wont feel like you do right now for long.

My Surgery Story
YAY, welcome to the losers bench. It sounds like you had a bit of a time with your recovery. I am glad you are feeling better and that your body is responding like it should. It feels great to be home doesnt it? It is just so stressful to be in the hospital. I can't stand that place hehe. Congrats and keep us posted. Enjoy letting others wait on you a bit but remember to keep moving around as much as you can. If you have to do lung exercises make sure you do those crappy little things too! hheheheh

Is ready to scream
Can you walk into their office? I would take a trip there and ask in person so they can't brush me off. Those type of offices drive me nuts.

Is this okay?
1st off congrats on your weight loss thus far that is awesome. But I agree with the above posts your protein needs to be a little more lean and have less sodium, don't forget the water!

SUrgery Yesterday- Crying wondering if made mistake
I can totally relate, I had some horrible WHAT DID I DO TO MYSELF moments 2-4 days post op and I had a mini break down at around day 7 or so. Wow I was an emotional mess. I think it is common after surgical procedures and then the shock of the post op diet restrictions, those just plain scared the holy crap out of me. I thought OMG I will never be able to enjoy a meal again (even though everyone assured me I would) I just couldn't wrap my mind around how it was ever going to get better. Week six I was able to start transitioning into "normal" foods and it has been pretty wonderful. I am enjoying food and meals, just on a smaller scale and my relationship with food is so totally different but in a good way. I feel myself no longer really excited about going out to dinner. I mean I enjoy it but it doesn't give me the same high as before, it feels like a burden has been lifted from me. Things will normalize it will be a smaller normal but still enjoyable and your relationship will change with food but you wont ever feel deprived IMO.

Did you crave any foods, tastes after surgery?
It was torture at first everything I ate was like tasting it for the first time. I remember drooling over my first bowl of creamed soup lol. I kept saying ohhh this is the best can of cream of chicken ever, then when I had an egg for the first time I was like ohhhh this is the best egg ever! Everything I ate was the best ever heheh. I was also avoiding the cooking shows I loved before surgery. I am back and able to watch them and enjoy them again. Take it slow you will make it through each stage and before you know it you are out of the woods and a scrambled egg will become JUSt a scrambled egg again.

what is the secret to success after surgery?
LOL I hope to be as unsuccessful as you!

I am curious...with the extra testosterone, pardon my bluntness but does that make you more sexual? I had only heard of PCOS once before joining this website. I had no idea it was not all that rare.

Home From the Hospital
Congrats I am glad you are feeling well and on the road to recovery. Yup me too, the nurses helped me into the bathroom area and told me to set the drain container on the seat next to me while I showered. It felt so darn good to shower too.

Reality is slapping me pretty hard this morning...
What a blessing for you to be given the chance to have it sooner and now you will have almost a year under your "sleeve" before the wedding. What an amazing fiance to go out on a limb for you. I say he is a keeper for sure!
