  2. Good luck, I know you did your research so you should be ready to go! YAYA
  3. Thank you for posting this. I am about an hour south of Fresno and I know someone that is looking for VSG doctor's close to home here. I will let them know to add that to their list of docs.
  4. Love these recipes. I am gonna check out Dr. Oz website.
  5. You can try Alberto Aceves, Ponce de leon, Dr. Joya and Liza Maria Pompa. I am sure Almanza probably does also.
  6. That is SUCKISH! I hope you get rescheduled soon, i can imagine it was very stressfull to get geared up to only have go home sleeveless!
  7. Jackie that is so wonderful that you are going to be able to fullfill a dream of yours. Your story sounds so typical I think of many of us. It is wonderful that you are doing this at such a young age and you are going to be able to do wonderful things because of the weight loss. I mean for some of us it is just about health, others it is about finding ourselves again or being a size that we never even remember being. But I just love that you are going to use it for your career and to give back to our country! I always wanted to be a marine but got caught up in life and so instead I dated a few too many marines LOL. But in all seriousness congrats and thank you for sharing that, I always like to hear how people made it here and what their personal reasons for the surgery are. Best wishes.
  8. oHHHH YES I am sure plenty of us did that. I know the only reason I did not do it at the hospital was because I was so far from home and was trying to be strong. I was feeling it though. I also knew that my mom who was with me would have been sympathetic but she would have pointed out that I needed to stick by my decision as it was too late to cry over spilled milk. I had to take some ativan (anti anxiety meds) to help me relax while in the hospital I wasn't in real pain so I didn't want pain meds so the ativan took the edge off and i was able to rest and relax a bit. You will heal you will enjoy your food again and things will turn around rather swiftly. Just try to remain as calm as possible and know you wont feel like you do right now for long.
  9. YAY, welcome to the losers bench. It sounds like you had a bit of a time with your recovery. I am glad you are feeling better and that your body is responding like it should. It feels great to be home doesnt it? It is just so stressful to be in the hospital. I can't stand that place hehe. Congrats and keep us posted. Enjoy letting others wait on you a bit but remember to keep moving around as much as you can. If you have to do lung exercises make sure you do those crappy little things too! hheheheh
  10. Can you walk into their office? I would take a trip there and ask in person so they can't brush me off. Those type of offices drive me nuts.
  11. lol OK OK so I guess Irene has an egg fetish going on.....whatever floats your boat! HEHE
  12. 1st off congrats on your weight loss thus far that is awesome. But I agree with the above posts your protein needs to be a little more lean and have less sodium, don't forget the water!
  13. I can totally relate, I had some horrible WHAT DID I DO TO MYSELF moments 2-4 days post op and I had a mini break down at around day 7 or so. Wow I was an emotional mess. I think it is common after surgical procedures and then the shock of the post op diet restrictions, those just plain scared the holy crap out of me. I thought OMG I will never be able to enjoy a meal again (even though everyone assured me I would) I just couldn't wrap my mind around how it was ever going to get better. Week six I was able to start transitioning into "normal" foods and it has been pretty wonderful. I am enjoying food and meals, just on a smaller scale and my relationship with food is so totally different but in a good way. I feel myself no longer really excited about going out to dinner. I mean I enjoy it but it doesn't give me the same high as before, it feels like a burden has been lifted from me. Things will normalize it will be a smaller normal but still enjoyable and your relationship will change with food but you wont ever feel deprived IMO.
  14. It was torture at first everything I ate was like tasting it for the first time. I remember drooling over my first bowl of creamed soup lol. I kept saying ohhh this is the best can of cream of chicken ever, then when I had an egg for the first time I was like ohhhh this is the best egg ever! Everything I ate was the best ever heheh. I was also avoiding the cooking shows I loved before surgery. I am back and able to watch them and enjoy them again. Take it slow you will make it through each stage and before you know it you are out of the woods and a scrambled egg will become JUSt a scrambled egg again.
  15. Hi Elfie I thought I might find you looking for information here. Elcie from lap band talk said you were looking for info on band to sleeve revision. Welcome to the site here and Tiffykins who responded above is the resident expert and will be a great source of information and inspiration. There are many more band to sleeve revisers who also can help you out. Good luck!
  16. EXACTLY! You are prooving that, what awesome results in 4 months. That is beyond amazing. Way to go.
  17. I am curious...with the extra testosterone, pardon my bluntness but does that make you more sexual? I had only heard of PCOS once before joining this website. I had no idea it was not all that rare.
  18. Congrats I am glad you are feeling well and on the road to recovery. Yup me too, the nurses helped me into the bathroom area and told me to set the drain container on the seat next to me while I showered. It felt so darn good to shower too.
  19. What a blessing for you to be given the chance to have it sooner and now you will have almost a year under your "sleeve" before the wedding. What an amazing fiance to go out on a limb for you. I say he is a keeper for sure!
  20. LMAO both of your posts cracked me up. I seriously had a visual of someone licking a goldfish!
  21. Ahhh shucks...thank you so much. I just love to see the numbers for everyone it is so inspiring.
