  2. I also didnt have any pain, other than the gas poskets they talk about. Walking helps that - I was ready to go back to work in 3 days. I was walking around the supermarket (it was a flat surface to walk on, I live near a lot of hills) the day after my surgery, the more you get up & walk around the less pain you will feel from the Gas.

As finallyncontrol said you will only get sick if you eat to fast or dont chew your food well...

Be sure to listen to what ur Dr's tell u and u will be fine. Good Luck!!!! Keep us posted. :)

  3. Hi all - I am about 2months post surgery and my 1st 10 days after surgery I lost a whopping 2 lbs... I was mad/confused/everything u can imagine...I even called my Dr's office saying I dont think the band is working lol... this is very normal in the beginning phase.. dont worry, ur not doing anything "wrong". Ur body needs time to adjust to this new foreign object in it. So keep being positive, keep walking to help alleviate the surgical gas pain, which I still had 3 weeks after surgery (god that was annoying). After you go for ur 1st adjustment weight will come off... I didnt start dropping a good amount (to me neway) until after my 2nd adjustment. My Dr said sometimes it will take 3 or 4 adjustments to "get it right" and thats when the weight will come off... Keep positive and make sure when you get to the solid food stage you eat - dont save calories.. eat a healthy well balanced diet - good luck on all of ur journeys and keep us posted!!!!! :)

  4. WoW 3.75cc and u felt nothing, my dr did my 1st fill a month ago, 3cc and i couldnt even keep water down @ the office, thank god they check b4 leaving, she took some out... Had another fill today 1cc - im a total of 3cc and im pretty much aware of it when i eat... Cant wait to see some more results... Good Luck and HOW can u not weigh urself... Im on the darn scale every other day lol...

  5. My suggestion, go to as many hospital ER's as it takes, one of them is bound 2c how much pain u are in and admit you - OR call 911, they will at least set you up on an IV and admit you to the ER. Good Luck and keep us posted. I hope all goes well for U.

  6. I do the same thing, I find THAT is the hardest thing about the band, I catch myself ALL the time eating lunch w. a bottle of water in my hand. Its a hard habit to break and I have to write a note @ my desk @ work NO DRINK @ LUNCH, sounds weird but it worked so far. I take a sip after meals, thats it. It gets easier - good Luck....

  7. I agree - I was not getting much protein, and was eating mashed potato's (bc they were safe to eat & easy to go down, and well so darn good) i was gaining weight. I am only 3 weeks and 3 days post surgery. Took out all carbs, except for fruit - up'd my protein and started losing weight w. in 3 days... Protein is SO SO important. Good Luck.

  8. :thumbup:Dont worry about a thing! They gave me something b4 I was even wheeled into the OR, well that knocked me OUT! All i remember is being in the holding room, then being rolled up to my room cause surgery was over. Dont worry about it, anesthesia sleep is the best sleep, just think about it this way... when u wake up UR DONE! Its great. I also have sleep apnea, the hosp has a cpap on hand (usually) and they will put it on u while ur under, but always make sure ur Dr knows u have it, cant hurt. Good luck and keep us posted.

  9. The only way this would be the "lazy" way, is if u tried nothing else... we all have tried everything under the sun, personally - ive done it all, bought it all, lost it all and gained it all back, and thensome. Good luck on ur upcoming surgery - maybe you can have your family come to this website to see how positive it is and im sure t hey will come around. In the mean time - BAN the Cheesecake from ur house... Good Luck!!!!!!

  10. I was banded 2 weeks ago, and have lost 12 lbs... 1st week liquids/2nd week mushies/Dr office put me on reg food, within reason going forward... I gained 3 lbs,, i wonder if its bc im actually putting food into my system after being on pretty much nothing for the past 2 weeks. I go for my 1st fill on 5/14, what can I do NOW to make sure I dont gain more weight... Protein, fiber, i cut off carbs after the mushie week , any other tips or help w. what I cna eat 2 make sure i do not gain more weight b4 my 1st fill... Kinda a downer.

  11. I wonder where you guys are or which insurance you carry, I am seeing a lot of people mention that they had to lose weight before surgery, my Dr. didnt require me to lose anything, nor was I on a special diet b4 the surgery... I guess to each his own (dr.'s). Good Luck and much success.
